Was driving around earlier and figured I'd stop somewhere nice and take some pictures. See what else I could do with fixing up a photo in Photoshop:

That's what I started with. After about an hour, having the whole thing cut up into 8 different layers, and exploring as many different options as I could, I came out with something I'm really very happy with:

Decided to take some pictures of the very dirty Highlander today since I don't have any pictures of it. It's the wimpy base model, with front wheel drive, 155 horsepower and a four speed auto with an old fashioned overdrive button. It has just over a hundred thousand miles on it, the past twenty thousand or so accumulated over the past three years when it became the extra car. It sits in front of the house in direct sunlight, and as a result the grille is peeling and the headlights are starting to look yellow. Still, it's a reliable little workhorse, and the only issue is that one of the passenger doors has to be opened from the outside. It's the most modified vehicle we have, with itty-bitty 15 inch aftermarket wheels and a factory wing that was added on a few years ago. It's also had the misfortune to be rearended three times in the first few years of ownership.

Edit: The Mini finally came home for the day, so after driving it (and realizing what a nice thing the Lexus' armrests are) I decided to take photos of both the nice cars together.

Where'd your front plate go you deviant?! Better watch out for bored state troopers. I got pulled over the other day when I borrowed my parents jeep. They bought it in PA months ago and still haven't put the front plate on

I was wondering when someone would call me on that. You can still see the screw holes for the plate if you're looking for them. D:

Still, though. My mom went a whole year with her Camaro with no plate until she got a warning. I keep it in the trunk. If I get pulled over for it I can put it on before I even get back on the road. :D:lol:

That front plate ruins so many good looking front ends.

Lookin' good Doog. 👍

Those headlights could probably come up with a bit of wetsanding. Good stuff here on how to do it.

Yeah, my parents bought it last August and haven't gotten stopped for it. I borrow it for 1 day and a trooper stops me. Luckily only got a warning since it was not my own vehicle I guess. The guy was running radar on 70east when I drove past. I knew I wasn't going fast enough for a ticket so when I saw him pull out behind me I went into panic mode not thinking about the front plate. Can't believe he even paid attention with all the cars from PA that come through and don't have front plates anyway.

I've looked into that and told my mom (dad could care less how it looks) but she doesn't quite trust it. :indiff:

But thanks for the link. 👍

The front license plate is Satan's contribution to motoring laws. I just shove mine in my windshield. Been told I need to mount it thousands of times and 2 tickets. Rather pay them than put that ugly rectangle on there. Each ticket was only like $30 anyway.

For the front plate the first stop is almost always gonna be a warning as long as you weren't causing any trouble.

My mom was actually given two warnings. One from the state police and one from the county before she decided to put it on.

Oh, and I don't think I ever posted this one:

One of the first photos I ever took of it. It was a quick one with my phone, so I didn't bother touching it up, or anything.(It was also before I took off the front plate :P)

I just did mine today with a Turtle Wax kit from Wal-Mart. Super easy, and it's by hand so you don't have to worry about a rotary tool burning the plastic. They give you all this extra crap, but it's a simple process of going through the different sanding grits (the pads are numbered) with a lube of some kind, then rubbing it down with a supplied polishing compound, and finally buffing the dried lense (I had a microfiber pad laying around, worked great just rubbing by hand).

It's a law in Colorado as well. I took mine off the day I bought the car and have yet to be hassled about it. The bracket's laying around the house somewhere and the still-minty-new plate is in the filing folder with the rest of the car's paperwork. I get lots of looks though, and I've been followed a few times while driving perfectly within the law. Doesn't something like that require a warning "fix it" ticket before getting fined? Like, if you had the bracket couldn't you just put it on and take the ticket into the DMV, have them look at your car, and they'll let it go?

Yep, I'm in Colorado as well! Yeah I had to go to the court house to show them my car and to wave my first ticket... Then I got one in Denver and apparently in Denver you can get a ticket for no front plate even when your car is parked. I learned a couple weeks later that supposedly that if your car doesn't have a front plate mounting point, that you're not required by law to mount it. So I plugged the holes where it's mounted and painted them so it looks like I don't have a bracket and I haven't gotten any tickets or warnings since... But I'm still skeptical if that's really the law so I guess I'll find out in time.

My car has a single hole in the center of the bumper, then two mounting points hidden inside the lower grille... being a modern Acura, the car's front end points into a beak, it'd be pretty ugly with the rectangular plate depression a lot of cars come with. I've been wondering if I should remove all that when I get the car repainted at some point. It's a ridiculous law though, it doesn't take much effort for a cop to go around to the other side of the car and find the number.

I just saw your sig and it reminded me of this, from a Chronicles blog:

Hemi sport, that's a nice BM. That's my favourite shape 3 series. I had a friend who had an M3 in that shape, same colour as yours and everything, and he let me drive it on a massively long straight road in Lytham St Anne's, like s*** off a shovel.

We had a 2002 Toyota Highlander Limited V6, fully loaded in that two tone blue color. It was a nice SUV. It saved my mom's life, despite her hating it haha. Great SUV. It did have an AC module issue but it got fixed.

So many pictures Doog  You should try a location other than your driveway

I hope to branch out to other places when I can drive alone. As it stands asking my parents to take me somewhere is time cosuming and annoying. :indiff:

I'd love to see some pics of that Mini in some winding hills or even parked in some gravel out in a rural area. I really need to start taking more pics of my parents cars and what is in a way my car.

I think these photographs will make happy all Supra lovers.
Took by a Japanese professional photographer on Tokyo Gate bridge.
My supra has a kind of basic performance upgrade. she's pretty much stock TT with computer changed, bigger inter-cooler, HKS boost controller.
Around 350 HP.

Enjoy these beautiful shots!
