I can't get past the fact that its a Ford.
Agreed. What's this have to do with anything? If it's a good car, then it's a good car.
I've never been into Fords either, but they've really stepped up the last 5 or so years. Go take a ride in one, it might change your mind.Nice ST. I've been checking them out lately, and I like seeing them going down the road, but I can't get past the fact that its a Ford.

My roommate has a 2012 Roush Stage 3 and the thing is ridiculously fast, especially with the phase 2 tune he put on it. It's putting down around 600 to the wheels. Never been a Mustang fan either, but that thing changed my mind. The 2015 looks even better.I agree. They listened to the community with the ST models, and have taken chances with the Raptor. You also can't discount their place in the muscle car HP battle currently raging with the big 3.

The problem is, any Ford I've met in the last 10 years has fallen apart or produced issues within 5 years that are more money and trouble to fix than its worth. In fact, I don't know anyone who has bought a Ford since 2000 and kept it for more than 4 years due to major problems or a plethora of small, yet annoying and expensive to repair "quirks".
I have a 10 year-old Ford that I've kept since it was 9 months old. We only started having problems until it was around 8 or 9 years old, and we've recently replaced the engine, clutch and flywheel (only costing around £650 all together, including price of the engine), and now it's running fine again. I'm not saying that your opinion is wrong, obviously you've been unfortunate with Fords and had bad experiences, just throwing in my two cents.
Clutch and flywheel are one thing, but having to replace the engine on a car that is under 10 years old, and I'm going to assume under 120k miles, is absurd IMO. Although the price wasn't bad, not everyone can afford that, or should accept that as "regular maintenance" on a 10 year old car. I'm glad you've had a positive experience with owning a Ford, I just wish I could say the same for myself.
This classy little* 2003 530i picked me up from school today.
64,300 miles, automatic, two previous owners, drives like a goddamn tank yet manages to be comfortable. It's excellent.
*Compared to a big black Lexus.
You sold the Lexus? D:
That thing was immaculate.
No, never. Both my dad and I are too attached to it for that to ever happen, so it's just gone back to being his commuter and grocery-getter.
I thought he was getting the Mini when he gets his license?
Or has that plan changed and you're now getting the BMW?
Ooh, so now you've got your own car? Sa-weet. I demand a thread for this also, and you better add mods to it unlike the Lexus.

He got his license back in October. He never intended to inherit the Mini to begin with. The Lexus was his primary vehicle of choice but it was never truly his. The whole reason he got the BMW was so he would have his own car.
I think.
Actually taken a few days ago, and it's not really high quality enough for me to bother putting it on Flickr:
First time ever in the snow(what little there is) and soon it'll be her first time ever in the tropics. Getting ready to spend some time prepping her for a 19 hour drive. Clean inside and out, wax, tire rotation/wheel cleaning, leather cleaning, the whole thing.
