Fiat panda young 0.9. This is my first car, got it as a present from my dad and I'm happy with it (I'm the "as long as it's cheap and works its ok" kind of guy). Haven't got my license yet because I'm 16 but while driving this I'm gonna try saving up for something in the direction of a Nissan Silvia.

Panda Power!

It's so much car for the money, how long untill your government allows them ?

I know that the R32 was legal to import to the US recently.
At 25 years old, a car is considered a classic by the government, and then you are allowed to import them. So 1989 R32's just became legal to import this year. :grumpy: Stupid U.S. government.

Yeah sadly for you guys that's the only option :/

So if I understand your law, you guys are not allowed to import anything ? Instead you have to go to let's say a Subaru/Mitsubishi dealer in the US to get your japanese cars?

There is a list of car we can import that are less than 25 years old, but it's comprised of trims of cars that we got here anyways. And sometimes you can get a show only registration for cars under 25 years old.

Dude - you are killing me! I was hoping to keep mine stock while I focus on my other projects but if you keep posting pics of this stunner of yours, I might have to quit this thread ...or end up spending even more of my children's inheritance! Damn what a car ...and I have seen pics of your engine too ...simply amazing. Great mods ..you have a great touch! Here is my 330i ...still as it left the factory I am afraid ...
Thanks man but you have one clean e90 as well. That has the n53 right 273hp? I just ordered active autowerkes new headers and software for my car. Right now im making around 275 with the bmwpreformance exhuast and secondary cat delete. With the headers and the tune i get 35whp or 45 crank giving me around 310hp or so.

Looks a lot like a GT5 photomode shot.

It seems that you are doing a good job, taking night shots.

Wow, this is the first time I post my pics in a forum without getting heaps of hate.
Why would someone post hateful words about you choice of car.

I applaud you for your attitude towards cars. 👍

In large, you can thank Mercedes Benz and a few other manufacturers who lobbied for such stricter rules already years ago. Although it's not just down to them. It's a complicated issue that involves a number of government agencies.

Importing a car that's 25 years or older can be done legally through US Customs. Even a car not originally produced for the US market. The problem is, a customs entry for a motor vehicle will automatically flag a separate filing with the DOT and it also requires an EPA form. There are disclaimers in there for vehicles over a certain age. But the real tricky part comes when you try to register the car with your local DMV. People try all kinds of 'funny' things, which is why and how you end up seeing the odd (imported) Ariel Atom or right hand drive Skylines. But if you get caught, you end up in serious trouble.

I remember a poll in Humo many years ago regarding the biggest male fears. Being passed on the highway by a woman in a fiat panda was right on top. If you manage to make a pass with this beauty at least they will have the comfort knowing it was a man behind the wheel ;)
