New car.

I guess you could say that is the point. I put these images all over the Net with my watermark displayed because I like to use it as advertising for my Facebook Page.
That, and prevent people from stealing the image and saying "I own dis," I'm assuming?

Yes, that too. While I know it's not the most desirable car in the world (far from it), there is obviously the odd bro or two that would try to pass the Subie off as their own.

But I use that watermark mostly for the advertising, including photos taken at cruises around the city, because the owners then repost the photos and get their mates onto the page, etc.

Right on. I only brought it up because I think it's a nice photo but I felt the watermark, or at least it's placement in this particular photo, takes away from that. I feel if it were off to the side and perhaps a bit transparent it would be less distracting while still promoting your site, although perhaps not as much. Hope I didn't come off in a rude way and maybe I shouldn't have even said anything!

Brake Porn.

The countdown for the 2016 HPDE season has started. I'll be hitting Watkins Glen, Road Atlanta and VIR this year so I'm starting the pre-season with a brake upgrade.
Let me know how you like those, I'm looking into getting a big brake kit soon.

The kit is probably overkill on a 2,700-lbs car. In fact, not probably, it is. The stock rotors/calipers on the '86 and DTC 50 pads/600F brake fluid have always given me ample stopping power. But I'm moving from UTQG 100 tires (last season) to race compound tires this year. It's a big step. And tracks like VIR and Road Atlanta are notoriously hard on brakes and I'll be running them back to back, just a few days apart. Well, all that and the fact that my shop was offering the front kit for $1,800.00 installed (parts and labor), which was really a deal, it was just too good to pass up.

I'll be up at Watkins Glen in early May for an open track event. I'll have temperature strips with me to see where I stand.

Nice, are you going to do any of the track nights that the SCCA is running? I'm going to a lot of those this summer.

I haven't been to any SCCA events. I've done events with NASA, SCDA, AZP, Provoledo Track Days, BMWCCA, PCA (and this year) Chin Motorsports. I looked it up online and it's an interesting concept. They squeeze a lot in during a short time.

what did it ever do to you

Hwy 407, Monday April 4th, 3 AM. On my way home 24 hours on the road. Completely covered in ice and snow, douche decided to overtake me from the right lane, didn't look out for the banked snow in between lanes and spun out 2 feet in front of me. Ended up slamming the barrier at 70 km/h.

Besides that lovely encounter, the styling is appalling.
