I got nothing about this image

I kept waiting for PD to add this classic to the game. They never did, so I went and bought one and took it to a real track. Nothing more fun than driving a slow car fast.

I'm pretty sure the first generation RX-7 was in either GT1 or GT2 & that it had the 12A turbo under the bonnet.
Like you though, how we haven't had at least one of these in subsequent GTs is a crime.
Tell us more about your's. Looks nice.

I only played the first 2 games maybe a handful of times. I didn't jump on board really until GT4 so I must have missed the car.

Anyway, mine is an '85 GSL with the 12a, 4 wheel disc brakes, and limited slip. Fully loaded with cruise control, a/c (not working right now), and 7 band stereo equalizer (woohoo!). It was all original with 20,000 miles on the odometer last March when I bought it off a guy who bought it off an old lady a few months before. Needless to say it hadn't been driven much. The shocks were spent and all the fluids were garbage. I've gone through everything and upgraded to Racing Beat springs and sway bars with Tokico Blue shocks. It's now borderline too firm for the street but not bad enough I don't enjoy driving it. I'm going to remove the rear sway bar next time I'm under the car as it was too much for the track and introduced some serious trail braking oversteer. I have the original 13" plus/x style wheels that are in great shape but I couldn't find a decent street performance tire in the right size so I grabbed some 15x7 Rota wheels and mounted Yokohama S.Drive 205/50R15. I know they're not grippy enough for the auto-x guys but I thought they had more grip than I had skill on the track (except for the aforementioned snap oversteer under trail braking). I swapped out the pads for some generic ones from Orielly auto parts, a last minute decision before hitting the track, but plan to put a more performance oriented pad in this season, at least up front, probably don't need them in the rear. Other upgrades I'm planning for the spring are at the very least a Racing Beat long primary street port exhaust. The stock carburetor is pretty anemic too but I'm not sure I'll have the funds to upgrade that. I've got too many other projects going on.

I was overshadowed by my cousin, a race-stripped manual '13. We were both one of the first 30 or so people there, out of uh...probably 500 this month. Super cool dude.

Also yes that is ice in front of my car. My hands almost froze off. But damnit, it was the best show in the world.

Was that Cars and Coffee? I just moved back to Houston and I've never been to one so perhaps next month.
Yep. First Saturday of the month. It's at the Memorial City mall.
There's also one out in the Woodlands on Sunday mornings.

I can't remember if I've asked you this already but,
If you play GT6, have you tried building a replica of your car?

It's probably the best looking MR2 in that model I've seen. It looks the business in a very tasteful way rather than being pimped way over the top.

Thanks Pete. There aren't very many visual modifications to this car that stand out. I'm a big fan of factory styling.

Yes I have few versions of the SW20 in GT6 but very hard to create an authentic replica as the '97 car has many body changes compared to the' 90. Rear lights and centre panel, colour coordinated side stripes, rear wing and front lip and front marker lights to name the major ones. And the wheels in GT are RGII so have a slightly different look to the RGDs.

The G-limited model in GT is wrong too. Has the raised engine lid vents where only the turbo GT/GT-S has this. I think the side or rear badges are also wrong.

Well you could use the G-limited as your base & hit the beers.
The beer goggles will hide any differences for you :boggled:
