Spring cleaning, last year..." get the yard picked up"!

...Yes dear.

Man I wish I had a better camera. The sunset was really vivid and looked beautiful.

Getting closer to that eventual paint job. I've also been thinking about new rims. The ones it has now are plasticaps, and kind of gaudy ones at that. Maybe tri-spoke?
My parents had one of those. The transmission started to throw out, but it lasted us 11 years or so after being purchased in 2003. We were in the Midwest as well, so it went through many winter storms and road trips too. I think it has a wide known problem with the electronics, which ours had a problem with.

I hope yours is functioning well.

Here's what I've recently acquired.

Mechanically, everything is in working order. There are some electrical issues here and there, like the console lights and a few cigarette lighters not working, though. Both of which can be fixed, but there are easier workarounds for a lot less money. :)

Sleeping. It was somewhere around 4 or 5 AM- don't ask why I was up so early. I'm all types of messed up. There was a few cars on the road- one of them being a GS300 trying to find a place to stay- but it was mostly quiet. (Keep in mind Myrtle Beach is a tourist trap. It won't be this quiet come March or April.)

Doing the oil change

Had to make my own washers because the old ones were lost when I bought the car.

The way these animals worked on Audrick before I bought him.... makes me cringe and rage at the same time. I don't remember if I posted changing my headlights on here. That was not fun. So many things missing or snapped.

Anyway now it's dark and I can't get to the oil filter cap. I can't find my extension bar for my socket wrench. The only extension that fits the 24mm socket is just a simple bar and I can't get the right leverage to open it.

I gotta wait for dad to bring Taylor back with the tools.

I wish I had the money/space to buy all the cars you do.

But then again, if I did, I'd end up with no money or space again. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yea, those are the two biggest hurdles for buying a bunch of cars, plus time. Luckily my dad is the same way and we have a large driveway. :P

Why do your Celicas look so weird? We never got the sedan versions here, the closest we got was the ST204 Curren but it had normal long headlights rather than the two round ones like the ST20* Celica. We only got the liftbacks.

What's different about them? You guys never got a notchback version?

I would've loved a lift back but they're way too hard to find in any condition so as long as it's a 5 speed I can't be picky.

How many bloody Toyotas do you have now???

Up to 6 at the moment :P

The truck is getting sold come spring and I'm selling my other Celica to my dad, though it's agreed that when he sells it I get first dibs. Plan on using my 1990 GT-S a bit more this summer though before selling.

The notchback/coupe is not a common model here in NZ. Most of our cars are JDM imports and I don't think that model was available in Japan so they don't make their way here. The *T16* ST18* and ST20* Celica notchback cars are only in non Japanese markets such as the US. The only one you see all the time here is the ST204 Curren like I said before but it's not a Celica in external appearance, just the underpinnings.

Ahh gotcha. Wasn't aware that they were only available as a lift back here. Even in the states they seem to be very uncommon, though to be fair any 4th gen Celica is pretty uncommon now especially a GT-S. I see a lot of 5th and 6th gen notchbacks, though the 5th gen GT-S and Alltrac turbo were only available as lift backs.

Hehe Alltrac Turbo. Need to get yourself a GT-FOUR!! A real car.

The notchback isn't just US but it's not a JDM model from what I can see. If it is it's very rare there

The notchback ST18* is fairly common here in Australia, too. Which is a shame, because they are ugly as sin :(

 Close enough. Honestly, wasn't super impressed driving my dad's. Would like to drive a GT-Four but that'll never happen.

I do have a JDM brochure for the 180 series Celica I can check.

I don't necessarily dislike the notchbacks, but Celicas generally always look better as lift backs in my opinion. All of the FWD ones look miles better as a hatch.

I bought a thing

1986 GT-S 5 speed with 85k miles. Am happy.

You're easily one of the coolest users on here. That's just rad.

Not often does it hit 70°F in mid-February in Chicago, so I took the Escape to the car wash:

Not the best wash job but it got the salt off and sprayed the undercarriage pretty good.

My girlfriend has a first gen XLS. Not a bad car! Just wish it was AWD. It also needs ball joints really badly. :scared:
