Today, my beloved was sent to his final resting place...

Rest in peace, Bruiser. :(

Excuse the poor photo quality and the fact it's portrait, my mum took the photo.

What happened to him? :(

What happened to him? :(

Poor health, really. It just wasn't worth it to keep him anymore. Gearbox issues, engine issues and rust issues were all adding up quickly. Once we bought the Leon he really wasn't needed anymore and had spent the last 6 months stood in the garage. It was sort of like putting an old dog down. He's out of his misery now. :(

:( That's just sad, Katie... I always liked the Mondeo and seeing how you and your family took care of Bruiser, just made me want one of these even more.

He's in peace now.

This is my current "project". Was my wife's car but she's gone up to a 5 door so I was given permission to make this my own. It's a 2003 1.6 Zetec with most of the trimmings, heated front screen, electric windows, air con etc.

She was stock with my wife and I have added 35mm lowering springs so it sits on its new 17" ST170 alloys which I got for less than £100 with 4 good tyres. They needed a refurb so I have plasti dipped them myself in black blue. Sportex back box system for a big more bass and sportiness in the noise without being too silly (it will be doubling up as a family car alongside the 5 door). Small interior touches which haven't all gone in yet but include an imperial blue flocked centre dash surround, sparco wheel cover, new mats and some led backlit switches.

On the to do list, wind deflectors, they seem to be the in thing and now I have experience them in my brother in laws 1 series they do actually work. I would like to get the collection front and rear bumpers to finish off the outside and then looking at the half leather ST170 interior to give the inside the final touch as well.

My Mazda 3! 2.3l MSR with a 5 speed manual.160k-ish miles on her. We've owned this one for 5 years now I believe.

Still in great working shape. Never had any serious engine or transmission issues. And that's saying something given my driving habits. But, she is getting long in the tooth now. Head gasket is slowly letting go, so it's consuming about a quart or two of oil per change. Third gear synchro seems to have lost most of its teeth. Terrible case of the rust thanks to Michigan winters.
As such, we are considering trading it for a new to us car. In fact, the wife picked out this and our explorer, so I get a choice this time. And that choice will be...

A Legacy Spec B! (Not this one though)
I thought about an STi, and maybe 7-8 years ago, but this look appeals to me far more. And there is a chance I might go with a MS6 if the right one is around when we start looking.

Hey @MildAshers
Just a thought, but there are a couple of companies that make bolt in RWD kits for those cars... Just a thought...

Not mine, but my brother recently finished restoring it. It sat in a barn since 1998 or so and my brother picked it up very cheap, like less than $10K. He took the engine out and completely rebuilt it, I believe stock it made about 425hp but he insatlled bigger injectors, a bigger turbo as well as a different cam (among other things) and she should be pushing over 600hp to the wheels now. The best part about the Cat 3406B is that just like the 12 Valve Cummins, it is a completely mechanical engine so there is no need to worry about any electronics, so it is extremely reliable and will make a ton of power for as long as my brother will ever need it.

The truck is an '89 Peterbilt 379.

Meet Noriko! My project car (and first car!) that I picked up a little while back. She's a 1992 Civic DX hatchback that I plan on building up for VTEC Club, a Honda exclusive series that often takes place at Streets of Willow Springs, which is only about 30 minutes from my house. The engine is the stock D15B7 block with a D16Y8 VTEC head. ECU is chipped as well. My goal is to build the car to handle well on the track, instead of go fast. She doesn't look too pretty now, but I still love her, and hope to be on the track by the middle of next year! Nice to meet you all!!

Welcome to the site! Cool to see some other VTEC Club participants here. If you look around you'll find @Arixant who's pretty established in the community. Look forward to seeing your build, I'm looking at getting an EG hatch myself.

Yeah, I actually saw Ant's thread on his coupe build and followed him on IG! I'll most likely be posting updates on the build as I go, but thanks man, I'll give you a follow!

More than welcome! What's your Instagram handle? I'd be interested in giving you a follow too 👍

@EG_Noriko please keep those steel wheels - they look awesome!

In other news, my old barge has been having some work done. New vs. old brake disc backing plates.

25 years of corrosion... and that's just the backing plates. More to come hopefully in a few days.

I'm currently saving up for a set of 15" Kosei K1's, but i'm probably gonna keep the steelies as winter wheels. Thinking about cleaning them up and painting them gloss black and putting on the old school metal Honda centercaps.
