Okay everyone, try not to get too jealous.

Just remember, people hate us cause they aint us!

:P

Damn that's nice. The Midnight Club LA nostalgia from nearly 10 years ago is real. Did you get a good price for it? VWs have a habit of being stupid money near where I live.

I got it for a really good price, but only because it's not running right. Just updated my thread if you want to know more. ;)

Something I forgot to upload earlier, but this weekend gone, me and my old man went to test drive a car. I've been trying to persuade my Dad out of his wheezy old 2009 Corsa and into a nippy Suzuki Swift. While waiting for one to be prepared for a test drive, we were looking around the showroom, and I must admit - while I don't like new cars, I kinda wish I had 18 grand to blow on one of these...

Finally liberated this from daily driver usage took it to the ocean

There's two types of people in this world: people who roll down all the windows equally and people who roll down each window at wildly different heights

What type of sun shade are you using? I really need to get one for my Accord.

Got a few

Brought the back down to my desired ride height, -4 camber for less rub from body roll; rubs more overall when driving, but most roads aren't bumpy enough to really bring it out. -1.8 degrees in the front but needs camber arms for more adjustment, then the front will come down to match the back

I haven't been in the forum for quite a while and I remembered the last time I posted here was my old Proton Persona in 2010. Sold that, got myself a Peugeot 206 1.4 and just a month ago I acquired this Peugeot 308 VTi. It's a bargain and although the Turbo model is just a tiny bit more expensive than this one, I rather save myself from the hassle. Slightly under powered but still a real good car!

I used to work for Peugeot - and the thing that surprised me was just how much better built inside that generation 308 was compared to literally every other Peugeot. I had to clean a 308 similar to yours a few months ago, the carpets were so nice and plush! I cleaned a brand new 3008 last week and looked pretty underwhelming afterwards.

Is it a 1.6 petrol motor?

I definitely agree! There's something about this 308 that the finishing and fittings are well put together. Even the seats are comfortable! My father owns a 408 Turbo which is the sedan variant of this car (not available in Europe) and the quality is similar. My car has around 140kKM on the odo and there's not a single rattle in the car.

Yup, mine is the 1.6 petrol. Probably the only downside to my car is the AL4 gearbox, in which it's slow and jerky. Literally a week after I picked up the car, I had to replace 2 of the gearbox solenoids. Oh well

@Prince.M5

Had a 2006 307, Claire :D , while working in Lebanon. Came with the 1.6L which was fairly sluggish and lacklustre. Beirut is very hilly so the poor thing barely pulled.

For $800 including labour the mechanic I used to frequent - horrible spark plug/coil pack issues - swapped in a 2.0L EW10 J4S off of a 206 I believe he told me. The car really came to life after that. It was an absolute joy to drive and a little beast.

However despite the amazing performance it was one of the models built in Qatar, hence the low sale price I got it for. Qatar used the cheaper gearboxes that would overheat and fail fairly quickly. I remember after a rather spirited stint on the freeway, about a 10-15° aggressive curvy incline stretching 15km, I lost 3rd gear; it kept flashing on the dash. I had to pull over, let the car cool down before I could start again.

I didn't get a chance to swap a proper gearbox in before I left but at least I broke even when I sold it.

I miss that peppy little thing and I miss the roads.
