It’s a Giulietta, right? Which engine?

I’m also surprised about your comments on the handling. Gotta be honest, I’m not up-to-date on the small Alfa models but always had the impression that modern Minis are great drives.

I’m considering the Giulia myself once my lease is up later this year, will see what kind of deal the Alfa dealers can whip up.
Yeah that’s right, it’s only the 1.4 petrol, so not the slowest but far from the fastest. The Mini does handle very well, but this actually felt flatter around the corners. It’s also roomier inside than the Mini and has a bigger boot.

I really like the Giulia but at £10k more it was a bit too much of a stretch at the moment.

We did also look at a newer Mini but to be honest they were quite disappointing to deal with and offered over £1,000 less for our current Mini in part exchange than we’ve got against the Alfa.

Parked next to a beautiful immaculate Porsche 964 Carrera 4 on Monday. My car was equally clean at the time so of course I had to get both in the shot :P

Thank you! It's a 120D :indiff: An M135i or M140i would be great but I make way too many miles for that. Though it's pretty fast for small hatchback standards, had it chipped to 235bhp and 475nm :dopey:

Your Audi looks great too! Can only imagine how cool it must feel to go from a 2002 to a 2016 car

I hope you have the rest of the car adjusted for the power increase :)
Going from 2002 car to a 2016 one wasn't really a big change. I travel a lot due to work and drive a lot of - most of the time extremely boring - rental cars and they tend to be pretty new :)

I never drove either of them but interesting to read, thanks for the info!
I live in the States and there's no Giulietta here :) anyway, I want an AWD car as we have snow every year. With the lease the Giulia is affordable and I saw some nice Ti Sport versions with LSD equipped at the local dealer, just gotta make a deal when the time is right (still a few months left from the current lease)

964... by far my favorite 911 version, even in the most basic Carrera 2 version with "only" 250hp...

My 300zx convertible is on display at the Adelaide 500 Supercars event all this weekend and I might even get to take one of the drivers for the parade lap!!! I am way beyond excited!!! :D

Mine is personally the 993, although the 964 is still a beaut to me. I was mainly just shocked by seeing one in my region with how expensive they're becoming.

yeah, at this point the cheapest 911 seems to be the 996, people started to value the 964...

In terms of favorite 911: I started to get into cars around '91-'92 and the German Motor Presse publishing company used to produce the annual Auto Katalog that was also published in my country (translated , which was important as I haven't spoken German yet at that time :) ) and in the Porsche section there was a picture of a red 911 Turbo 3.6 that took half of the page, pictured from the right front. That image burnt into my brain as "THE 911". The same way when I saw on the cover of the also German and also MP-published auto motor und sport that blue BMW M coupe (yes. the Z3 Coupe, the clown shoe - btw, the GTC4Lusso is also a clown shoe) and it was love at first sight - to this date that's the car I want most beyond any Porsche, Ferrari etc. (I could even afford it but it's not worth losing my wife and kids over it :) )

Guys I'm looking for some aftermarket rims to put on the car. I always loved the BBS LM style rims but some friends tell me it looks 'cheap' as so many people run them (and they're from such a different period than the car). Could really use some advice here :) I photoshopped some rims on my car. Also lowered the car (in PS), I bought H&R 35mm lowering springs just need to put them on the car. I plan on doing that when I get new rims.

I love the second option, it looks fantastic with this kind of rims, in my opinion!

I think the faces of the guys in the background say enough. I had to hike back up the side of the hill/mountainside through thorn bushes and razor wire fence. My car rolled what seemed to be 6 times, but the last 2-3 rolls were the heavy impacts.

I was airborne for a couple seconds (felt weightless), car starts to roll, goes further off, slams into the side of the hill ejecting everything out of the front passenger window and into a small patch of grass, then rolls to a stop at the spot in the photo up there. It could have kept rolling if it were to slide a few more feet because it went down into a valley.

I got out of the car and laughed to myself because I thought that it would never end, and there was a point where I thought I stopped rolling, but started rolling again. I have more photos of the area of the crash.

There was debris everywhere and I was picking up pieces of my car as I made my way back up. I had to dig through the grass to find my phone and call 911. Luckily, I only got cut by a small piece of glass on my hand and a had a little post crash back pain.

I feel bad for the car as well... I had just put about $2,000 into it a month before the crash. It was a very clean high-mileage example that needed just a little mechanical work. It suffered from steering play, which affected the response time of my maneuverability. Couple that with slick roads and a small load of things in the trunk, it was destined to happen.

I feel terrible for it to this day.

That's really scary
Glad that you've managed to exit out of the car with nothing major 👍

Wow, that looks nasty! Also looks like you're lucky it's LHD, you might not be here today if it was RHD. At least you're OK, and it's a lesson to be learned.

you most definitely have better roads to drive on then I do
You don't know italian roads then :P

Still haven't managed to take a proper picture, the only time I did my phone messed it all up and the pic was completely out of focus. Will try to take a decent one in the weekend. In the meantime, here she is, sleeping after coming back from work! :)
