Had a 2008 Acura TL prior to this one. Really wanted to keep it going but after owning it for 5 years, things started breaking with some hefty repair bills that made no sense financially and considering the amount of driving that I do, I couldn't risk it anymore. So this is my current daily driver - 2019 CR-V. It's nothing fancy, nothing special and quite boring to be honest but it does what it does well...bought it with just 36000KM on the clock back in June 22. It hasn't even been a year of ownership yet and I've already put another 45000 KM on it.....yeah, I drive a lot, at least I'd like to think so anyway😅

Time to show off my recent upgrade. Went from a beater V6 Mustang to a 2019 Abarth Spider. The Spider is a great driving experience, I like it more than the Miata or the Camaro SS convertible that I test drove.

Nice to see another Abarth owner in here. Loved the 124 but went with a little more practicality in the 500. I wouldn't doubt I'd look into getting one in the near future though.

On it with mine

Oil leak I was unaware of led to needing engine replacement. $4k repair on a $6k car that was like my fourth choice at the time because I needed one ASAP because I was still learning at the time

Geez. Time for a new car?

Yep because it doesn't make much financial sense to fix it from my end considering the middling emotional attachment.

Gonna swing by once the place I bought it from (one of those buy here pay here places which tbf has done right in my experience) gives me an answer on what they can give me to get the junk out of my car I intend to keep. Mostly just worried about my CD collection (especially the ones loaded in the changer), cold weather gear, OBD scanner, and a few books.

What exactly happened with this leak?

Mentally playing back the past month or so of driving, only incident off the top of my head that could've done it was getting a touch too aggressive exiting onto the main road that goes by my work and a probable bonking of the underside. Most off-roady it ever got was some grass while parking to see my youngest sister graduate middle school last year (and now I'm curling up in the corner feeling old because it's a few months out from her being old enough to get her learner's permit)

Now it's the fun part of putting up money for a down payment on my 3rd car in two and a half years. (TL;DR: first car was rear ended after all of two months, insurance money from that went to my former current car.)

Sorry, my mechanically-oriented brain just can't help wondering what kind of leak would lead to an engine replacement. This post makes it sound like you tore a hole in the oil pan? So all the oil just drained out and you didn't notice until it was too late?

Got in a minor fender bender back in early May, and finally got the car back last week. The crash rebar was back ordered, other than that the whole car was ready within a week. Just had to wait for that one stupid part. Grill is bent pretty good but I think its fixable so gonna give that a shot next week with my brother. I got a brand new stock grill from the repair, at least.

Since I just got the car back, decided to go up to Angeles Crest with my cousin and his friend. Since the last time I went I've changed a bunch of performance and suspension bits as well as some nice sticky tires, so the car was just completely different in pretty much all aspects. All good things, though. I couldnt find the threshold for the new set up, it just kept wanting to turn and turn and turn, but I was too scared to keep pushing it because I just wasn't preparred for how big the changes were.

5 year anniversary of owning this car so time for a few mods! New front and rear spoiler and got the windows tinted. 65% tint on the rear doors and hatch, 30% tint on the front doors and front window. Also had the front bumper repainted, wasn't looking that good anymore (almost 185.000 km's on the car). I think the next mod will be new black rims and some fresh rubber :dopey:

New Road America plates finally arrived.

Lot easier to order specialty plates in Wisconsin when you're doing a new registration (you can do it online versus having to mail a form and a check), so I took advantage. The black plate also blends nicely into the paint I think.
