Not my own photo, but had my brother practice learning to do light painting on my Isuzu. Using his recently purchased Canon Rebel T7 with my 70-200mm lens. Unedited single exposure.

Not even two weeks after I got the car from the body shop, my timing belt skipped a few teeth so the car was out of commission for another two weeks or so. In short, I've only had the car about 2 weeks in the past two months, and its was driving me crazy. Finally picked it up on Saturday and decided to go for a cruise. I had removed the piggyback when I took it to the shop just in case they try to point fingers, and man what a difference in power the car is without it. It feels considerably slower.

Over the past 6-8 months I run into this issue in 4th gear that ends up limiting my boost from the usual 22Lbs to about 15lbs. It happens only in one specific instance, ever, and I'm absolutely baffled because it doesn't throw any codes or anything. It happens when I'm at WOT in 4th gear, and as it peaks into 4500RPM, a slight hiccup happens and then immediately loses the boost. It'll stay like that for about a day, and then like nothing, the power is back. This is only instance it ever happens, like clockwork almost, and never happens outside of those specific parameters.

Could it be knock? Limited power due to overboost(maybe piggyback related?) or Faulty sensors(MAP or Knock Sensors?) Hard to say because you'd think it would be more sporadic rather than at one exact instance that I can recreate. Either way, that's the next thing I'm trying to tackle right now.

This is actually my first ever car :) Bought exactly a week ago. It is a 2008 Renault Twingo II 1.2 ‘Dynamique’ with all of 58hp(43kw). A (theoretical) topspeed of 154km/h and 0 to 100km/h in about 15sec. It’s completely stock as far as I know besides the (I think) 15” Borbet alloy wheels and iirc the “racing stripes” although original Renault, were put on by a previous owner.

I’m probably going to leave it stock mechanically besides maybe some tiny things here and there. But I am going to do some external things to it, the stickers that are on it now are quit old and worn, so they’ll be replaced with something new, plus the front of the car, where the license plate is, will be covered with ‘carbon look’ vinyl, just to give it a bit more of a ‘racing’ look :) It has very little power, so it needs all the help it can to at least look fast :P

I think I've had it posted years ago, but the car's a bit changed meanwhile. I've recently started to use it a bit on track and therefore had a few things done:

  • ECU tuning
  • Tomei exhaust manifold and overpipe, with first cat deleted
  • Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires with Pro Track One wheels (they only weigh 7,5 kg each)
  • Cusco rear lower control arms to go with the already quite old BC Racing BR coilovers, which are gonna get changed in the future
  • Water/oil heat exchanger (yes this car doesn't have one from factory, the new one does though)
  • K&N air filter in the stock airbox and a Mishimoto siliconic tube (just to delete that stupid sound generator)

It's still slow but do I love it!

The wagon's in the hands of the tuner now. He's currently in the middle of moving to a new shop, and his own dyno is in storage, so we're just waiting for open dyno time at a couple other local shops he's friends with. He was messing with the map at idle, though, and says my engine is sounding really good. I'm pretty proud of that, considering it's my first build. The idle's a tad lopey thanks to the big cams, but who doesn't enjoy that?

Man, living at elevation sucks (~5,000 ft here). The dyno result came up around 30hp short of what I've found people to be making at sea level on pretty much the exact same setup. Mine made 202 hp at the wheels (and I'm guessing 240hp or so at the crank, given that a stock H22 at 196bhp tends to dyno around 160 at the wheels), which is pretty much on par with a strong stock S2000 at a lower elevation. I don't have a torque figure, because this shop for some reason doesn't care to hook that up on their dyno. I was planning on adding a turbo in the more distant future anyway, but now it's a sure thing as long as it can be done while clearing the power steering and a/c components. But until then, part of me is taking this as a challenge, and I want to see how far I can push it all-motor while still passing emissions, so some changes will be made after more important aspects of the car are improved.

At least in theory you should be able to calculate torque from power and rpm.

Anyways, nice build

Car went to Nordschleife and survived, I'm happy. Definetly will come back in the future, haven't been even remotely close to the car's limits while driving, it was scary at first but fun as hell after a couple corners. Only managed two laps with various yellow flags so best lap time is not even worth mentioning, it was just for fun and for the experience.

If you can go there, do it! You won't regret it...except for the fact that you WILL want to go back as soon as possible.

Had an accident Friday afternoon going to a car show in Detroit. Black car came at us hard no time to react as the traffic in front of us was stopping. I’m ok but the car might be totaled. No ticket for me.
Yeah I'm gonna bet that it's done for.
See the car I very briefly owned before the Milan:

Rear ended, ironically enough, near enough in front of a body shop in town back in 2021. Was a $5100 estimate on a car with 230K-ish miles at the time.

Mine is 126,000 miles my airbags didn’t go off but seatbelt tightened and the air bag light came on.

I bought a new 11th generation Civic over a year ago and now has 12,000 miles on it. It’s my first new car and largest transaction I’ve ever made. I know it’s a “boring car” especially for a male in their mid-20s but compared to my old Jeep (now sold) it’s been a massive upgrade for my commute.

I’ve fitted a dash cam, a full WeatherTech kit, and recently some splash guards. I will likely tint the windows eventually.
