That just seems like a whole load of complication for no real difference to what I suggested. Swapping the yellow and black wires was to account for the difference in how the G27 pedals are wired, tying the clutch green wire to the black wire just disables the clutch pedal and swapping the brake's black and red wires inverts it's function (presumably because the G27 and DFGT's brake pedals are inverted from each other). If you just removed the G27 pedal box wire and replaced it with the DFGT pedal box wire and plug them in, it's a lot easier because then you don't have to open the DFGT itself.

Why are the pedals offset so far? That seems completely unnatural and I don't think I could ever drive like that. Is it due to a personal disability you have? If not, why not just build it in the traditional way?

i've found this guidelines:
http://youtu.be/eAhNhWNNm-8
can this be useful? has anyone tried to make this change?
That's exactly what I did with my DFGT. Also wired it for handbrake and sequential shifter. You can see it (sorry you can't see the pedals) working here.

I'm actually selling the DFGT, the pedals (G25 with APElectrix load sensor brake) and if you want, the DIY handbrake. Keeping the Frex Shift+ you see in the video though. Anyone, (probably in Australia) interested, please PM me. Comes with GranTurgismo paddles too (not in video).

Here is my set up guys. The computer on the desk behind the right display is my gaming PC and it has a Core i5 2500K CPU and dual PNY overclocked 560ti GPUs in SLI. I get playable FPS in triple screen 5760 X 1080 resolution even in Project CARS and certainly iRacing. I also have the extra PS3s and Xbox 360s and so I run triple screen GT5 and Forza 4.

It doesn't mess with your head having the screens so far out of alignment? Seems like it would be very weird but I guess you can get used to it after a while?

Good question. I have since elevated both monitors to help with alignment. It's fine now and does not bother me. That being said, if you can swing it, three identical displays are the way to go. It makes the set up much easier, both for Nvidia Surround, but also for purposes of adjusting colors, brightness etc.

The pedals are offset to the right because i drive with one foot, the angle and length is perfect for me when sitting on a couch, it's not perfect but it will get me thru until i get a rig with a racing seat and a G27.

As far as the hookup it is the DFGT wires hooked up to the G27 pedals.
here is a pic of the gas pedal hookup :

Since I have not set-up a dedicated room for my rig(s) yet I needed an easy way to move the rig(s) from in front of my TV. I have several extra 18" x 48" wire shelves laying around and decided to see if that would work. It works perfectly for the Playseat and should work for just about any rig that is less than 18" wide (Of course if your rig is wider than 18" you could always get a 24" wide shelf).

Height from the floor is adjustable either with taller wheels (4" or 5", I'm using 3") or by raising the height of the shelf (although I would not go too high with that method). Additionally the added height actually makes it easier to get into and out of the rig (I also like the higher perspective better).

As you can see in the photos below the rig on the left is raised and on wheels for easy movement, the one on the right will be mounted the same way once the wheels arrive (have the shelves but needed more wheels).

As I stated above I used an 18" x 48" wire self, four post, Playseat carpet mat and a set of 3" wheels to place the playseat rig on (it fits perfectly). It's easy to move, has four built in locations to mount one or more Buttkicker 2 Gamers (BTW, even without a Buttkicker the tactile feedback is enhanced as the FFB from the wheel is transmitted to the wire shelf and then back to the rig.)

Here is my set up guys, let me explain. The X button is for the gas or more formal the accelerator. The square button is to brake, R2 and L2 are upshift and downshift while the analog stick is to move the car. Not sure what you guys have, but my unit is compact :sly:.

You shoild try imverting the pedals on that. :-p

Some nice rigs in here. We are moving soon and I already have my play room picked out (and wife approved). Lots of inspiration here.

I don't play GT5, but I do have a man cave and what others tell me is a nice setup. Is it ok to post it here?

Don't see why not. You could say you like GT or that your cousin used to play it or something.

Lots of good pics glad to see this thread still going! I like all these cockpits

Nice!

Spend 500 pesos (12.8 dollars) building the base for the shifter and the metal support for the pedals... next, some paint and leather! (or maybe just some paint...) and the seat!!! A friend how has a paint shop told me that I can buy a used one for less than 1,000 pesos (less than 25.6 dollars...) so... show you when finish! ;) :D

( Just realized im not the only Dominican in this site)

ok here are some pics of what i built, i have made a few mods after those pictures like a PVC hand brake that works awesome, its all painted black, stiffer springs, and some more, I just came in here and saw this sketch and the guy who built it had also sketchup plans so it was really easy and cheap to build. the only bad thing its that its too big and i have to keep in inside of the house (wife not happy about it) but i will just let her play for a bit and she will go on her way :)

Is that a customized steering wheel?

Hey guys, finally got around to cleaning my room and taking some pics of my setup while BF3 downloads.

I like to think I got a unique setup going here, I didnt have the space for a desk and a rig so I kind of combined the two and this is what I ended up with:

Untitled by Hollidog, on Flickr

I got a seat out of an Evo 3 from a wreckers yard for $50, and I mounted it on a bit of wood and attached it to a base with four legs which hinge and allow the seat to go up and down:

The latches pull out and allow the seat to fold down:

It might not look it, but I can assure you that it is perfectly stable and the seat does not move at all, even during the most aggressive sessions.

The view from the drivers seat:

Thanks guys. Had to modify the keyboard tray a because otherwise the wheel wouldn't go all the way up. Couple blocks of wood and some gaffa tape and she was sorted. Trying to think of a more permanent solution though as I'm constantly retaping.
