Thanks! I will get it but purely for the living room. As you say movie's with the Family. I've read somewhere on here it's a bit of a disappointment on PS3. Most likely have a go on it with Gt5 to try it. 42/47" would take up the whole wall in the game room lol. Triple screens and triple PS3's is definitely the way I'd like to go ........looks amazing......It's just making the mental leap to part with the cash for two more PS3's and three monitors lol and two more game's. I plan to start fitting the rig with tactile, so once I've that finished I might have prepared myself for trips

That was the hardest part was justifying spending the money. I figure the monitors can be used on PC's for kids later and then PS3's trade all three in on a PS4. LoL

Wow, I think that is the best set up I have ever seen. Congrats!!!

What screens are those? Bezels are absolutely tiny! Modified? Or is this something available for sale?

The D8000 is LED. It has the thinnest bezels around. Only 2900 USD.

Lol you've convinced me!! And the price actually wouldn't be more than a good 3D tv £480 for 3 24" led monitor's and £380 for 2 more PS3's

you need to get it just right, so that when you look sideways you see what you would see in real life. with no experience with a setup like boodybandits, i couldn't tell if it is too far away. its forza being played by the way, you can tell by the xbox in the bottom corner, although i didn't know it could be used in a triple screen setup before.

There you go! With monitors I did a bit of research. Be sure they have HDMI and VESA Mounting. Outside that it personal preference. Went with the VS248 from ASUS. Got one hooked up last night updating PS3's and getting GT5 installed. I must say I was absolutely stunned by the quality. The colors. So rich so amazing!

I use now a 60" DLP Mitsubishi. Full 1080p and had a brand new light engine installed. While the picture is fantastic. It just isn't as crisp and colors as clear as the new monitors. That alone was worth it. As well I lose any DLP lag. May have to readjust my turn in spots. LoL

As for trips being close and immersion. I am going for a set up where the side screens are def on the side on me and not in front. This is also why going to large pushes the screens away from you losing that wrap.

I'm new to trips and it may not matter at all.

I just ordered the Asus VS248H-P LED monitor for my sim chassis this morning.

Please report back how you like it. I was simple jaw dropped.

We use a 42" Insigna Plasma in the other room. The DLP does better color then the Plasma. To compare picture is little unfair as its 720p. As well it is a cheaper Plasma too. It is crisp just not like the VS248.

Truthfully I seen things and details I hadn't seen in GT5. I kinda had this feeling of being shorted of my visual experience last night when I noticed these things. Was like how much have I missed that others hadn't. LoL

Lol I actually just typed in the Asus ones you've got to see what they were like, Looked good. It'll probably be a couple of months before I'll be at the purchasing stage. The misses car cost me £550 to get it through the MOT today and next week she wants a new sofa lol then the new 3D tv for the living room. After that I'll make a start on adding tactile to the rig. Fancy a 5.1 set up like some of the others on here have been talking about. But I'm definitely sold on the trips, and personally I do think they need to be close. I'll look forward to seeing how yours turns out in the mean time 👍

Here's my new and improved stand, my last one couldn't fit the G27 so I made a new stronger one. Oh and my office chair which looks like a racing seat:P

That's cool! I will try to set mine up 👍

My 10 year old Yamaha RX-V2200 gave up the ghost (want to get it repaired for my son). I received my Yamaha RX-A710 the other day ($540 Crutchfield open box FTW!. $650 MSRP) That sucker sounds nice and clean! Using HDMI only makes setup super easy! I dug out a set of old surrounds I wasn't using, ordered new speaker wire today with more banana plugs, and will be going 7.1 by tomorrow. I need to get one more set of satellites to use as "presence" speakers. Then it will be a full 9.1. And then I need to piece together a complete matching set and a new sub. That will probably have to wait until next year. The Yamaha app for iPhone is pretty nifty. Makes me not want to pick up the remote at all!

Those who have jumped from 5.1 to 7.1, what am I in for as far as improvements?

This isn't my cockpit, but for those of you who aren't iRacing members, I figured I would post this here:

Apparently the owner works for Williams (yes, F1 Williams) and got the seat from there. These are only 24" monitors, but with how close he is, they are huge.

Once I move back to the states and put my projector in a dedicated movie room, I'll be replicating (yes, copying) this cockpit. It's everything I wanted in a cockpit (except I'll use my gear, not a Logitech fan), but could never quite visualize. I will probably do 3x30" 2560x1600 (or maybe 3D, not sure) screens just for that extra immersion :) Or do some 27's and mod them to thin the bezel to almost nothing.

Love the F1 seating position, but that looks even more awkward to get in and out of than a real formula car
Ah, what the hell.. Stick 4 actuators on there and I'll fetch my wallet and some cod liver oil.

I like it, but somehow i dont think this is what Rubens and Maldinado use...

Well they are a F1 team with financial woes and only last year were they selling stocks for dirt cheap to help them out. Also Fernando Alonso was quoted calling the Renault sim a ps2 when he last raced for them and gave praise to the the McLaren and Ferrari one.

I don't think it's that far fetched that this is what was once used at Williams.

Team Lotus. Actually their setup is rather primitive compared to some of the bigger budget teams. I'm sure they have a off limits setup like TMG's, F1 2011 game isn't exactly high tech.
Toyota-SIMULATOR-03.jpg

You dont actually believe that they use that setup as a simulator and F1 2011 as the software they run???? like in that video.

If they use this for shows and events

Then Im pretty sure they have a proper simulator for the F1 team to use.
