Well Gt champ, send that 6800 ultra my way, I have a good home for it ;)

But really, upgrading FROM a 6800 ultra, you realise that in 3 months I will still have my 9800 pro *sob sob*. Could be worse, I could be on a gf2 mx400...
He may have a PCI Expres 6800 Ultra, did you even think of that.

I will get some new photos, once I get my Xbox 360, expect my room to maybe look more different next time mates.

I'm not suggesting this is some uber gamers board. I'm saying that for 50 quid, you will struggle to find a better one, especially one with AGP and PCI Express with only a slight performance hit (Personally I can live with losing 3 fps if I'm getting 60 or so anyway). I'm a poor student, what can I do :(. If it bothers you, please feel free to send me a better board ;)

Most being the important word. This one doesn't suck.

While it's not the most advanced, the bench marks are pretty decent, the features okay, and the price? Ridiculous. All that for £50 new.

I simply can't afford to just throw a 9800 pro away.

I was gonna ask if that was the one you had. It's the only one i'd heard of as being worth getting. It's a nice concept having both types of slot on the same motherboard, i am very tempted to buy one of these myself. It'll all come down to whether or not i can afford to buy a PCI-E graphics card at the same time i'm planning on doing the motherboard and the CPU.

CPU: Intel P4 3.2Ghz (Dual Core)
Video card: Sapphire X550 PCI-E

Case: Cheapo case
PSU: Two loud fans
Sound card: Onboard card. Serves me good with the 5.1
Monitor: PolyView 17" LCD
Speakers: Some 700 Watt Speakers.
Keyboard and mouse: Laser Keyboard / optical mouse combo.

After seeing your screens from the MW demo, i take it you ran everything in high. Because i should be able to hopfully.

Just a side note:

After seeing Call of Duty 2 on the XBox 360 versus COD2 on the PC, I don't think I will be dropping the money on an XBox. My money would be better spent upgrading my PC. The graphics on the XBox reminded me of Half Life, the first one.

The 360 ones are 2 gens forward, so we have to wait till 2 years. Before we seen the kind of 360 graphics on PC. Plus my Xbox 360 is a part birthday part Christmas present Pako.

It's cool! I would take it if it were given to me. :) I just came from Best Buy where they had one on display. For $500 I wasn't impressed. The $500 graphics card I could put in my computer would be impressive though. ;)

Well, I don't have a 'current' gaming comp, because I fried mine a couple of weeks ago. However, it was this;

AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1400
I don't actually remember the motherboard. It was quite poor though. :(
NVidia GeForce4 MX440 with 64Mb cache.
512Mb PC2100 RAM (2 un-matched 256Mb sticks. One generic, one Kingston "super value". Don't ask. =\ )
A low-level Creative sound card. Again, I don't remember the exact model.
52/16/8x CD-R drive
8x DVD drive (which refused to read my UT2004 DVD. Now most of my CD folder is devoted to the CD's. :indiff: )
Microsoft IntelliMouse
Samsung SDT1000 Keyboard
19" Compaq CRT Monitor.
Windows ME

Oh boy, I loved telling people my specs when I came first on a CSS server. :D I love how people assume they need an uber computer to be a good gamer. Unfortunatley, I think I fried the BIOS. Everything is getting power, but the computer will not boot. However, Dad's decided it's time for an upgrade, so we're now looking at an Athlon64 3500 (Venice core) and a decent mobo. The graphics card and RAM, for now at least, will be re-used. :ill:

I can't help it, it's only through me paying the extra on-top of the Athlon64 3200 price that we're (maybe :ill: ) getting the 3500. I can't afford to upgrade it all at the same time.

Admittedly, mine fries (although not as bad as G.T's) when i play San Andreas on it, but meh.

ULi? I've never even heard of that chipset.... nVidia nForce or bust. 👍

I might use newegg's Bill Me Later service so I can get my three parts at the same time, I''m now debating between an X1800XL and a 7800GT.

Ati 7500? You have the audacity to come into this great thread and call that a gaming PC...
Yup thats right, be a hater. It works great, and sometimes if it has trouble running something, i just overclock it. :) :)

Why spend a fortune on 4 gigs of ram and then use a single 250Gb disk ?..

I'd rather have just a single gig and a nice 4 channel raid 5 system with 4 10000rpm disks...

Yes, I got my old 9600pro up to X800pro speeds but there is a metaphorical wall, you can only overclock so far.
I am actually suprised how well the card is holding up, it runs all the newest games, but not those that need atleast 128mb, darn it. Hehehehe. After christmas comes my project overhaul, im going to order 1.0GB ram, 80gb hardrive @10,000RPM, and then the X700 or maybe even the X800 if the price is right.

As you can see, i dont upgrade my computer everytime something new comes out, i let my stuff get old, and when i feel its time, i upgrade.
