Hey guys, next round will be at Twin Ring Motegi East. The capped time will be 1'25.000.

See you on track :)👍

EDIT: the capped time will be 1'26.000. My bad...

Gutted I missed out on the battles at Red Bull Ring, hopefully it's not damaged my championship contention too much! ;)

See you in Japan

Edit:
Hi guys, I got back slightly earlier than expected last night so was able to get back on track and run some laps....

And oh boy do I have a tough race coming up at Motegi!

The Alfa is max out on power and weight loss, and my best lap so far was a 1:25.4, sounds about right... however I've only managed this once in about 100laps!!! :scared:

On average I'd say I'm around the 25.9 mark, still it makes it all the more challenging :D

Damn, thank you @hobbsy you just made me realize my mistake: the capped time is 1'26.000, not 1'25.000. It's just one sec, but it's fortunate since it seems that some of us need it! :P I don't reach 1'25.000 neither with the Volvo... My bad, and thanks again for pointing that out! :)👍

The club event is up here with all the usual information. See you on track!

I tried the Volvo again... It is the perfect car on this track! So much power!

Anyway, the capped time is more difficult for this race, I hope that nobody will be off pace...

Capped time is super easy for the Peugeot to hit, only needed a hair over 300 hp to get on pace. I did shed the 45 kilos ballast I was carrying for the last race, though, so I'm down to 1105 on weight. I might have to work on an alternative setup on RHs in case I'm down too much on straight line speed compared to the other cars. ;)

On the topic of running wide, I wasn't going to make too much of a fuss after last race because the wet conditions were somewhat of a mitigating factor, but I wasn't terribly amused by the amount of tracking out on exit I was seeing, especially when it was happening lap after lap. It's rather a pet peeve of mine. Fortunately that kind of driving won't fly at Motegi, as there are no obnoxious tarmac run-off areas to abuse. :D

Not wanting to start a flame war, but after watching the replay I would be in agreement with @amarynceos on this, one can be forgiven for the mistake under pressure or if defending position, but then you would also be expected to concede the place in that situation.

This is also one of my pet hates, most notable at Silverstone at Copse!
But the decision has been passed, so I shall leave it at that.

Anyway, back on subject, to give an indication (if it helps) of my top speed at motegi, I think I'm just touching 135 at the end of the straight! I'm also hitting the limiter :scared:

@BooyakaDragon realized that he may have abused (see his last post) so I'm sure he will be more careful from now. I did use these areas a few times too, I'll also be more rigorous as it can be considered as an unfair defense. Good point is, I don't think that it improved our lap times and if it did then there was penalties. Personally, if you look at the replay, it even cost me the second place in the last lap. :banghead:

At Motegi there are less run off areas but again I ask everyone (including myself) to not abuse of them.
However, there are one or two corners easy to cut (I'm thinking of the two chicanes). Unless you are forced to, I ask everyone to not cut corners as I find this is even more dirty than running wide in run off areas. As said in the OP there will be penalties if I see any abuse. The rule is: 2 wheels on track.

Now the rules are clear for everybody, let's forget about last week (which was still a fun race to me) and move on to Motegi! :)👍

It was still a fun race to me too!

And yes, watch out for the esses/chicane at Motegi, with that blind entry to the second pair it's super easy to get it wrong, turn in too early, and find yourself cutting the first apex, or turning in too late and running off at the second. Easy to make or break a lap in that section.

@hobbsy I'm over 130mph myself, I'll check next time I run some practice laps. Also, why are you hitting the limiter, adjust your gears man!

Thread has been quiet for a few days so I thought I'd double post instead of editing my last! :embarrassed:

Is there gonna be much attendance tonight, can anyone confirm there place on the Grid (or not if its the case?)
I would expect that overall the interest in GT6 may now start to reduce now that a certain community funded racer has finally landed on consoles and PC alike!
I for one will leave the PS4 in rest mode later, while I get my fill of some GT6 enjoyment

I'll be around early tonight, as I have some last minute adjustments to test out. Feel free to drop in if you see a room up

Thanks for the head up @hobbsy :)👍 I'll be there of course, I think @amarynceos will be too. No news from the others...

Let's go to Japan!
Hi guys, tonight is the 3rd Round of this PTCC season!

The lobby will open around 9:45pm GMT for the warm-up. The 5 minutes qualifying session will start at 10.15pm, followed by two races of 15 laps each. You will have 5 minutes between the two races in case you need to adjust your setup. Don't be late, I will start on time (if ever you are late, you can still join the second race)!
  • Track: Twin Ring Motegi East, surface water 0%, weather 0% (sun).
  • Capped time: 1'26.000
  • Max. 380bhp
  • Min. 1100kg
  • RH/RM/RS tyres
  • All available aero parts required
  • Number plate required
  • All aids allowed
  • Do not cut corners and avoid contact
Important: The lobby will be open to the club members only, so please join the Parity Racing Club!

See you guys on track! :gtpflag:

@BooyakaDragon For me it wasn't an annoyance as I was not there, but I think it's good for the club to keep these things in order and clear to what peoples expectations are within the race.

I'm sure there was no harm caused so all is good,

looking forward to some good fun racing tonight

Just did 10 or so practice laps and got one lap of 1:26.024 with the Volvo. So if I am not sleeping I am joining :)

Most laps were closer to 1:26.7 to 1:26.9 so I don't think I will be going under the reference time.

Sheesh the Ford is going to be severely off the pace. I have the lowest HP and KG possible and I can't get a time any better 1,27.

Too tired and irritated to have finished the night sorry. Not ya'lls fault, just me being the idiot who choose a FWD car.

Example: I literally have only slept like 10 hours in total this week -_-

OK I understand. But you're not an idiot, there are only FWD cars in this series :) Rumors talk about RWD in a future championship also being run by the Parity Racing Club, but we still don't know much about that ;)

Still, you did well and got a win at the Red Bull Ring, maybe this track was just not for you? Don't lose hope, next Friday will be better! :)👍

Round 3 Results

PTCCS1R3.png

These results will become official on Monday at the latest.
Please PM me before then if you have complaints.

This round was more difficult than I expected! It was very difficult to stay consistent and I've been far off the capped time most of the race. Surprisingly there were not much penalties.

@Cu3e had one fast lap at Race 1, and the resulting 1.220s penalty pushes @amarynceos up to the first place as they were really close at the finish line!

@amarynceos had a little penalty on one lap at Race 2, with no consequence but @hobbsy was not so far behind!

I myself had a 10 seconds penalty for sweeping @Cu3e in the first corner of lap 13 at Race 2. Sorry again @Cu3e, of course it was not intended. I had to watch the replay several times to take a decision: I was in front of you at corner exit but I ran wide and too fast, and bumped you. That obviously led you to finish far off me, thus the penalty is well deserved, pushing me down to the last position. The rules are the rules! ;)

I haven't watched much of the battle between @hobbsy and @amarynceos yet, but it looked tense! We had some good fights with @Cu3e too but his Volvo was very efficient on this fast track, I was catching him up in corners and was left behind in straights. I expect to see a similar situation at Silverstone next week as it's also a fast, flat track.

Thank you guys for taking part in this event! I'll try to make some photos and maybe a video footage... :)👍

No worriest @Tijee. It was fun. If you guys have suggestions how to improve the cornering speed of the Volvo, I would be happy to hear them. It seems bit overpowering on the straights as it is now. But just too slow in the turns.

What tyres are you using?

Regarding pics... I have something in the pipeline, should be done today too!

I'll update you when it's finished ;)

I use this tune (medium suspension), with 113/107 ride height and RS/RH tires, and that's not so bad compared to the stock setup!

@BooyakaDragon, if you're interested in my setup for the Focus:

Ride height: 72/69
Springs: 9.93/12.45
Dampers comp.: 8/8
Dampers ext.: 9/7
Anti-roll bars: 4/6
Camber: 2.7/1.3
Toe: -0.12/-0.04

BB: 4/6

LSD: 6/18/7

Min. downforce

Ok may as well put this out there now, no sense in waiting all day!

Does anyone here use Flickr? I do, and think its pretty damn good, plus the 1TB of FREE storage for pics and Vids is a no brainer!

Anyway I've set up a Group for the Parity Racing Club, to cover all the races we run. Its invite only for adding, commenting etc, but you should all be able to see it and browse regardless of membership.

Parity Racing Club - Flickr Group

If your interested in becoming a member to add your own Pics Vids etc, and commenting and what not, let me know and I'll send you the invite to join.

You can still upload the pics to this thread, I'm not trying to say you have to use this group. But for me I end up taking loads of shots, so it then takes time sorting through and being selective so as not to overload the thread with large amounts of data.

I will probably still drop the odd pic on here now and then :D but its an option at least

I like having some pics in the thread, but seems you took a lot of shots indeed!

Beautiful pics BTW :)👍 I love the loads of smoke at start ;)

If there is one thing I think GT6 does well, its the amount of smoke you can generate

To be honest this is quite a low number of pics for me...
I usually take closer to 100+, especially after I've tried various angles and aperture settings for a particular shot!

What I planned to do (with the flickr page) is dump them all there initially, and then review and drop out the ones I don't like over time, that way there all available straight away.

I'l be reviewing Race 2 later tonight, and I may even dig out my HD-PVR to capture some footage :sly:

Good racing last night by the way, aside from a few bumps at the start it all looked pretty clean.
