Thanks for reporting guys, unfortunately I did not have time to practice yet, I set this capped time after just a few laps with the Volvo.

Have you tried harder tyre compounds?

I'll have another try and let you know ASAP if the capped time has to be changed.

Sorry for that!

OK I'll do some testing tonight. Meanwhile you can try adding some weight and using RH.

Keep you guys informed.

The thing is that the C-30 is famous for being an underperformer when it comes to PP racing. During the test round I was the only one to actually make use of the whole 380hp and my car was rated at 510PP.
I guess it will always be the C-30 and the RCZ when setting the time cap...

That's why I'm always testing with the Volvo, it has the most understeer and it relies on its power to keep the pace. It makes it more difficult to establish a target time for all the cars on a small track like Brands Hatch Indy!

I've done more testing and I agree to say that the target time can be hit very easily, it is very low. Actually I'm pretty sure that most of us will drive very low powered cars, nearly stock. I only added a racing exhaust on my VW (for the sound), and it weights more than 1300kg.

However I will not change the target time for the following reasons:
  • The meeting is tomorrow, in not even 24h. It's not enough time for everyone to practice for a new target.
  • I tried the Volvo again, full HP, min weight, and I did not achieve to get below 0'48. I know that I'm far from being the fastest driver here, and I may have a bad setup, but this car is much more difficult to handle than the other cars on this track. I don't want to be unfair to the Volvo drivers.
  • Although I agree that it's difficult being slower than 0'49 it can be done. Use the power limiter, add weight, use RM tyres...
See you tomorrow then, and try to stay above 0'49 :)👍

Round 1 Reminder

IMG_9607.jpg

I wish one day we have a nice grid like that!
The 1st Round of this PTCC season will take place tonight at 10pm GMT.

The lobby will open around 9:45pm for the warm-up. The 5 minutes qualifying session will start at 10.15pm, followed by two races of 25 laps each. You will have 5 minutes between the two races in case you need to adjust your setup. Don't be late, I will start on time (if ever you are late, you can still join the second race)!
  • Track: Brands Hatch Indy, surface water 0%, weather 10% fixed (no rain).
  • Capped time: 0'49.000. I know, this is slow but the Volvo is not very comfortable with this track ;)
  • Max. 380bhp
  • Min. 1100kg
  • RH/RM/RS tyres
  • All available aero parts required
  • Number plate required
  • All aids allowed
  • Please do not cut corners and avoid contact
Important: The lobby will be open to the club members only, so please join the Parity Racing Club! This will be a club lobby, not an event lobby!

See you guys on track! :gtpflag:

I chose to withdraw from the series. I was finding it more of a challenge to not hit the time instead of getting faster. Anyways, no hard feelings, I just don't feel like this is for me.

It's your call, I won't try to change your mind but that's too bad... :(

See you around!

Round 1 Results

@gkgamer was not far from winning the point for Pole Position, for just 0.001! As mikzipp and @hobbsy were faster than the capped time, I win the point for PP :D

There were some great battles in the two races (and sadly some withdrawals too in the second race), but @hobbsy managed to win them both, congrats!! :)👍 That was close in race 2 though, as you have a penalty for a lap time of 48.906, I'm just 0.110 behind you! :P

I hope we'll have more contestants next time, it will be in Austria, at the Red Bull Ring (short track)!

That was a good start for me this week, Brands is quite a strong track for me and have some great battles there. This week was no different, and really enjoyed the event.

Looks like I managed to stay consistent too 👍

That was some quick work with the time sheets @Tijee would not want to do that if you had a full grid :scared:

It was a shame about the others having issues :guilty:,
Hopefully as we get further into the season people will become more in tune with their car and be better positioned to race.
Please do persist with it, and keep playing with those tunes!

For me personally I tried to keep the same set up I had from Cape Ring, but kept dropping power or adding weight until I got under the cap.

I have some pics to put up, but have not had much chance to get through them yet.

Laters all

For those struggling with tunes, Make sure your front spring rate is softer than your front, your front is lower than rear set your front anti-sway to 1 and rear to 6 or 7.

It's all right, all is calculated automatically, I just have to fill the times and the race penalties :) Took me a couple of hours to make though.

That's what I did too, and adapt the gearbox ratios to the track.

Great, can't wait to see that! :)👍

Bad news guys... The weather forecast for next Friday at the Red Bull Ring is bad... Really bad!

Therefore, brace yourself and wear your wet tyres, here are the race settings:

Track: Red Bull Ring Short
Surface Water: 50%
Weather: 70% (rain)
Capped time: 1'00.000

Ok, photobomb time, wind up your internets!

Round 1
Lining up in second I have a nice clear view into Paddock,

Unfortunately others have plans of their own :boggled:

All cleanly through Paddocks, can the same be said for Druids... It looks like it could be three wide here,:scared:

@Tijee see's a gap, but is quickly closed down,

Our race leader mikzipp starts to make the most of the shuffling group behind, pulling out a early lead
Brands Hatch Indy Circuit_12.jpg

Meanwhile there is some classic Touring cars style "door handle banging" action
Brands Hatch Indy Circuit_1.jpg

Brands Hatch Indy Circuit_2.jpg

The race leader goes too wide into Clearways and loses the back end sliding off track
Brands Hatch Indy Circuit_3.jpg

its not long before we are all around again, this time in a different order...
Brands Hatch Indy Circuit_14.jpg

the battle really gets into full flow as more opportunities present themselves
Brands Hatch Indy Circuit_17.jpg

@twodogsgolden tries a pass round the outside of Graham Hill bend,
Brands Hatch Indy Circuit_18.jpg

the Alfa has pace on the straights to keep the Civic behind. But is under constant pressure from the mighty corner speed of the flying Civic...
Brands Hatch Indy Circuit_20.jpg

The power on the straights gives the Alfa some breathing space, and ready for when an easy mistake opens up the door.
Brands Hatch Indy Circuit_24.jpg

@twodogsgolden doesn't need a second invite and goes straight for the inside line at Druids,
Brands Hatch Indy Circuit_25.jpg

picking off both to make it to the lead...
Brands Hatch Indy Circuit_29.jpg

Its not long before the Volvo driving by @gkgamer has the scirocco in its sights and get the inside line at Druids
Brands Hatch Indy Circuit_8.jpg

Brands Hatch Indy Circuit_7.jpg

Volvo Power

the struggling VW soon falls victim to another hunter, again at Druids!
Brands Hatch Indy Circuit_9.jpg

Back to the front where the drawn out fight for 1st place is coming to its conclusion...

luckily (for me :) ) the Alfa powers down Brabham Straight, and after several practice attempts I make the move into paddock and make it stick for the exit up Hailwoods hill...
Brands Hatch Indy Circuit_11.jpg

After defending the attempts of the Civic through the corners the strength of the Alfa builds a big enough gap to keep the Civic at bay and leave me some breathing space for the win.
