I having a tough time deciding on weather or not I should preorder GT6.

I really want the anniversary edition cars, because after a couple months since the games release, those car will be very rare.

But is it really worth it? Is it best just to pick up in store on release day?

Please help.

Its worth the preorder. Most places will preorder for a fraction of the game's price.

All these places don't use paypal, only credit, I don't have credit, if that was not the problem, I woould have preordered it by now. :guilty:

Depends if

A. You can be bothered to go to a physical games shop and brave the smell of sweat, the guy with an attitude problem at the desk, and a bunch of spotty kids fighting over the demo pod of the latest war/murder simulator.

B. You want to take the risk that they may have sold out.

If both things are not an issue, skip the internet pre-order.

Pre-ordering this game is worth it because of the upgrades that go with it. That is to say if a GameStop is near you.

Gamestop will take a down payment on the game of about $5 to open the account. It can be cash, store credit, credit, they don't care. Payments can also be made with same options. If you should need to cancel your pre-order, Gamestop will refund your entire amount of your PIAD pre-order. Gamestop is the best way to (IMHO).

As far your question, is it worth it to do the pre-order - I have to say Yes and no. The end cost to the gamer is the same regardless if you pre-order the game, OR buy it release day. The benefits to pre-ordering are the extra goodies game developers offer with the game. Pre-orderings allows game developers to have a way of gauging the publics' demand and desire for the upcoming title.

With that being said, this also allows the gamer a voice. For example, when GT4 was delayed many, many times, I canceled my pre-orders - same with GT5. Yes I want the game, and I want the game to be right, but I personally don't like being strung-along with phantom release dates.

I preordered GT5 but cancelled it the day before the release because Target put it up for sale an hour before closing time the day before release and at $20 cheaper. They do it every time too (did it with Forza 4, MW3, etc). But this time around I want the GT6 Collectors Edition, so I'll be going to my local EB Games Midnight Launch and lining up!

amazon.com has a preorder pack. You can buy Amazon.com gift cards from certain stores. Maybe you can get it done that way?

In the end, dont sweat it. I missed out on some special edition GT5 preorder cars. After oooing and awwwwing for a few minutes it didnt really bother me anymore.

If you are going to pick it up release day you might as well preorder it and get the bonuses.

Worth it? Worth what? It's free. Pre-ordering doesn't cost you anything. The five dollars goes towards the game. All it would cost you is your time and effort to walk into a store and pre-order, so only you can say if the free bonuses are worth it to you.

Though if you do decide that free stuff is worth it to you, I do suggest getting that free stuff from gamestop because they are giving you better free stuff than amazon. You're getting more cars instead of 1 million in game credits from amazon.....which seems kinda useless to me. And since you're buying new, you aren't really supporting gamestop in case you're one of the "refuse to support gamestop" people.

I am pre-ordering from Amazon so I can get the 1,000,000 credits!

I want to get online day one + cheap cars are all I like to drive.

Hopefully I will never ever have to race an AI robot agian.

Use your PayPal debit Visa card. Done.

Retailer specific bonuses are bad for gamers. I get an employee discount from a retailer that SONY doesn't have a preorder scam setup with.

If you're going to buy the game anyway, just pre-order it from a physical store. You're not paying any more - you just put down a deposit.

I think it would be a good idea to pre-order gran turismo 6, especially if you want the steelbook edition (which I do). I'm going to pre-order it once I've signed back onto the dole.

Since everybody is getting the pre-order I'm gonna be different and not get the pre-order. I could also use that 5 bucks to get me some Mickey D's.

You'll still be spending 60 bucks plus tax.

OR you can preorder it and think of it as a layaway plan by making payments. When you go pick up your fully paid GT6 and see that DLC code, you can buy another game with the $60 you'll have in your pocket.

There is no extra cost with preordering this, it is not a $100 Collectors Edition or a $200 Signature Edition.

I still pick on my son the GTA fan for not preordering GTA 5 a year ago. He would not have missed the money. Instead, he still isn't playing GTA5, because he doesn't have extra $60 to buy it.

I definitely recommend pre-ordering for sure just to give you a secure copy of the anniversary edition.

But I personally haven't pre-ordered it yet because I'm kind of holding my breath on a "collectors edition"

So they're bad for gamers...because in this situation you don't get to use your employer discount?
Got it.
Biggest video game store has benefit system set up with publishers...who would have thought?
Biggest online retailer has benefit system set up with publishers...who would have thought?
You've got a handful of retailers with bonuses and yet it's still crap cause it doesn't suit you?
If I ordered on amazon, I wouldn't have to pay tax but because I like the bonus at GS, I'll pay the bit extra. Am I happy about it, not necessarily. Am I acting like a teenager because of it? Not yet.

I'm not gong to name the retailer I get a discount for. It's not "Mom & Pop's Video Store". It's a major brick and mortar and inline retailer. Amazon have a 1,000,000 deposit into your GT bank, do you REALLY look at that as a "bonus"? A bonus is something that is otherwise not available.

Showing favoritism to GameStop and a handful of retailers around the world that have the Anniversary cars IS bad for gamers. Unless you are a manger at those stores and get a bonus for sales or get a discount at those retailers.

My 15% discount nullifies tax and I still pay 10% less than retail.

Why should I buy any kind of bonus, which only takes away some part of gameplay and therefore fun, as it either provides me with some extra cash for easy access to the "winning" cars or grants me some super-cars for easy progress?

I want to start from zero.

Just my 2ct.

You don't buy any bonuses. You pay for the game, bonus is included.
As for starting from scratch, that's not where bonuses come in handy. Most if not all the cars are likely ineligible for the races available at the start, so they only issue would be the money and even then, it's discipline and self control that dictates whether you decide to use them or not.

Even if you want to start with nothing and do it the old fashioned way, you can still do it with the pre-order, just ignore the bonus cars and money, and they are still there if you need them. You lose nothing.

If you want to start from scratch, don't redeem the code until you are into the game with a few cars and over c1,000,000 on the bank. Even if you do redeem the code, you are not required to use those cars.

I'm glad to FINALLY be getting a GT avatar. PS3 is on it's way out and we are just now getting a GT avatar to represent PlayStation's biggest game.

Thats what I will do. That way I don't feel like I'm cheating.
