I was just wondering if anyone had any pre-release material, I'm talking, old web pages, magazine scans, anything like that? I had a look at the other thread and the renders were interesting, does anyone have any written previews though?

One thing I remember from a very old Playstation magazine (Circa 1999) was a row of cars from the game as renders, and I swear, among the cars there was a green Grinnall Scorpion, yes, the 3 wheeled car. Now I may have this mixed up with a preview of TOCA Touring Cars 2, which was released around the same time and featured that car, but if anyone could put my mind at rest I'd love that. But yeah, if anyone's got any old magazine scans, please post 'em up :)

I have - and was playing last week - a demo of the game, featuring two or three driveable (and thirtyish AI) cars at Rome.

No Grinnalls though. And the Wiki page for the car does mention that it was in TOCA.

I think I remember that demo, was one of the driveable cars a Mustang by any chance?

I do realise the Scorpion wasn't in GT2, but I can swear the render was within the GT2 preview, it was green, and was a 3/4 view, in a row with other cars. The magazine may have put it there by mistake, but I'll have a look and see if I can find the magazine in question (2 house moves severely reduce these chances, unfortunately.)

The one (though I actually have two copies of it) that I have has a Mustang GT and an Evo V GSR drivable, plus some Class 2 car that I can't remember.

FIAT Coupe Turbo.

And yes, the AI had a field of twenty-something cars to pick from. I'll dig out a PS2 (it's unstable on the PS3 for some reason) and do a headcount.

Just found a video of the demo in question

It does indeed feature the Mustang GT, the Evo V GSR and the Fiat Coupe. Also, if you pause at 3:12 you can see the Ford Escort 1.8 GTi was originally to be featured, shame it wasn't.

One of my discs was part of a Pizza Hut promo.

I was about to say that. All you could do in the Pizza Hut disc 2 demo, was race with the Lancer and I this other car here.

Well, yes I'd want it. I'm a GTP fan, of course I'd want it.

I would, but I know parents would need to know, but they will tell me the same "You can't always trust people from online". But, that is understandable. I will see what I can do. I will tell you when I have gotten permission.

Yeah I get how parents work. Luckily my mom isn't a computer person so anything I say can't really get me physically yelled at, not that I even say anything strange. I mean you can trust me, but just ask the 'rents first. It's good for them to at least know. Thanks for letting me know, and get back to me soon. Just send me a visitor message (Instead of filling this forum with our conversation.)

I went watch this several times, and I noticed that manfucturer (sorry for spelling) outside East City had used car dealer. Something that was cut. :ouch:

I had the demo from the UK PS magazine. I remember an excruciating few hours at a family get-together before I could play it.

Just remembered something, I also had a PS1 magazine which had a section with a guide for ALL the licenses. I'd love to see that again

Does anyone have any reviews yet?

My bad, it was GT1. But i do have my save with close to 20% on it that i started recently. I dunno about sending it though...

When OPM U.S. was getting things ready for the switch over the PS2 demo discs, they started releasing compilation discs which had newer demos as well as several older ones.

SCUS-94649 NTSC-U/C Official U.S. PS Magazine 46 (2001)

It contained the same GT2 demo (More or less. There were a few minor differences.) as the Pizza Hut one.

Apologies for the bump, but nearly a year on and I still haven't got any further with the search for the thing I was originally after. Surely someone must have some idea what I was on about? The two things I was after originally were

- The magazine feature of GT2 that, for some reason, featured a 3/4 view render of a Grinnall Scorpion in a row with other GT2 cars
- The magazine feature of GT2 that had a guide for all of the license tests

I'm in England so they were no doubt in some UK PS1 magazines. But of course this thread is open for anyone to post any magazine features of GT2, previews or reviews alike, or even just special articles like the one I mentioned, with the license tests.
