I just don't get it. I bought myself a peugeot 207 GTi since it's a premium and I wanted to check out the tuning possibilities for premiums. And guess what you CAN'T put ANY aero parts on it. Why??? Wasn't there tuning supposed to be available for premiums??? And on the other hand I can put a spoiler on any standart car.
PD WTF have you been doing for 5 years???

yes, but you can put a RaceMod.
And by tune, i think they mean tuning... engine etc

You seem to know a bit about tuning, can we tune the cars in gt5 like in gt4, i mean to the same horsepower range etc?

Definetly. I already seen a couple people claim their R-34,32,33 Skyline GT-Rs are already at 700,800,900, and some even past 1000 HP.

My R33 with all engine mods came out at 699 BHP, while my R35 is at 853 BHP or so. Going to be hard to get past 1000.

my civic i bought with 0 km (premium) had 160 hp original.
Now he got 680 HP i do 350-370 km/h and what an acceleration! VTEC kicks in like hell ;)

Tune your car, and test it on SSR7 Track.

Maybe the hp ranges differs from cars to cars, because in gt4, some r34 and r33 could have different hp depending on which specific model. I mean there are more then one r33 in gt5, right?

I must ask, have anyone tried the Supra RZ yet, its my favorite car. If somone buys thet car, and tune it, dont hesitate to holla =).

Here are a R33 pushing 700 hp according to this guy

I only got a Civic Type-R right now, and I plan on driving it for a full week. I want to get a STI so bad but I'm forcing myself to only focus on one car. And that's my Civic for now. Currently has 273 HP Naturally Aspirated. That's with engine upgrade Stage 1 and all other intake and exhaust systems! Can't wait to get Stage 3.

EDIT: Eventhough the Titanium exhaust is the most expensive and really improves perfomance, IT WILL make you car sound more like a 4 banger. In my case with my Civic, it sounds like a weed wacker at 9000 rpms. At idle through about 3000 rpms, it sounds like a muscle car with a mean cam. I think its the Titanium exhaust.

Okay man, hope you can put a turbo on it, and show those stock lambos a good lession =)

The physics in this game are outstanding, but the effects of tuning are completely wrong, or in some cases, void of any appreciable change in the behavior of the car no matter what you do. For example, I have an evo x, and even with the adjustable center diff mod with the torque bias set to 90% rear, the car understeers off the track under acceleration. Even from a dead stop, full lock to one side or the other, full acceleration, the rear won't even step out ONE BIT. Garbage. I wanted to like this game, I really did, but that just ruined it for me.

You can tune an EK Type R and even beat Skylines on the track with a really good susp. set up. The way that car handles is phenomenal; it is one of my favorites. I can't wait to fully mod the new STi though..

Well, to give an update: since the differential settings seem to have absolutely no effect on my evo x's understeer (despite a 90% rear torque bias), I decided to see if anything in the suspension settings would enact some kind of change. So, I stiffened the rear more, and still nothing. Back and forth I went, from practice to tuning, and then, I started to notice a trend - no matter what I did, I could not tell a difference in how the car drove!

It was at this point that I began to develop a sinister theory, so to prove it, I decided to run absurd settings that would be a disaster in real life - I set the suspension to MAX stiffness on EVERYTHING in the rear, the ABSOLUTE MINIMUM on EVERYTHING in the front, MAX toe out in the rear, and... (drum roll)... NOTHING! The car drives EXACTLY THE SAME! I set the front diff to full open and the rear to full lock - nothing. I reverse it - nothing. THE TUNING DOESN'T WORK IN THIS GAME! It's just there for show! Absolutely disgraceful, this game.

Talking about absurd things. I just upgraded my corvette that at least sounded like a V8, now it sounds just like a 4 cylinder. This game is disappointing me more every day.

Wow! Can anyone confirm this?!

I assure you, I'm not making this up. Buy this car, mod it, and see for yourself. Or, try this with one of your other cars - I'd be curious to see if it's just a glitch with the Evo X, or if the tuning just doesn't work for any car in this game. Report back and let us know...

My mustang v8 gt premium 07 is 675HP, has 6-speed tranny, stage 3 engine kit, and it only goes 148?!?! Someone please help! I tried changing my gear ratios but I won't let me

Did you disable Skid recovery force, active steering, and ASM? Those three greatly make your car perform a certian way, like greatly correcting over/understeer and traction control.

Did you install the 6 speed close-ratio trans? if so that would make your car accelerate through the gears really quick and reduce top speed. Close ratio is meant for small city track with quick turns.

I call shenanigans on that, the LSD settings for the cars I've had it on (Scuderia, MP4, Gallardo) all make a huge difference, as does gear ratio and to a more subtle effect, suspension changes - But then I dont make huge changes.

Still, I notice when i make a change.

Maybe its a bug with one particular car, that'd be worth testing, but I've had no issues. I'm pretty sure they test this stuff before they release it - could you imagine the ****storm?

You call shenanigans? I am trying to benefit the community by bringing to light a major problem with the game so that it can be brought to the attention of the developers, and you have the nerve to come in here and call me a liar because the 3 cars that you have tuned didn't exhibit this behavior? I provided a detailed account of the issues that I encountered with the EVO X so that I could see if others were having the same problem with other cars, but instead, I get people like you coming in here "calling shenanigans." You know, there were several people in here saying that even with fully customizable trannies, they couldn't adjust the gear ratios. One guy said his 700 hp mustang will only do 148 mph as a result of this. I guess that's just a bunch of "shenanigans" too, right?

I wasn't calling you a liar, but claiming that ALL THE CARS cannot be tuned is a fairly huge claim, considering PD's history with GT and all.

Sure sounded like it to me. Read the above edit that I made. What about those problems? I'm not trying to be a jerk, but there are some MAJOR wide spread tuning issues occuring with this game, so rather than jumping to conclusions based on your own limited experience, consider the fact that other people are just discovering problems that you haven't had the misfortune of coming across yet. If you like, why not buy an EVO X, mod it out, and see for yourself what I'm talking about?

Its already been stated in the other thread that the transmission adjustments are a level based thing.

I'll take a look at the Evo X after my next chain of races so I can afford to mod it, currently its sat with barely anything on it, used it briefly for a Rally Stage.

Come on, guys. Enough with the "liar" banter. Play nice or the warnings will come out.

Of course, I'm no noob to sims. I don't race with any assist except ABS, and even that is kept at level 1.

Try install the not the 5 or 6 gear thing.. buy the 20k thing, dont know whats name. and change gears, like under the 6 gear is something that says 150 mph, put it up to 190 - 210 mph ... and keep trying till you find its good.

my civic type R EK "97 has 400-500 hp, it goes 330-350 km/h (~210-220 mph i think)

and a very fast acceleration ^^
