The 2 TVR's have been in too sir, I think.

The marketplace certainly likes these appearing, if anyone wants to trade them I'm sure the good people in there would like them. You may also get something you've been looking for 👍 In my opinion, the more the better.

I don't understand why these are being made available to us. They are actually giving us these so we can "enjoy" less details and a blacked out interior instead of a fully modeled one. At least, it's in accordance with the usual PD logic. I'd rather have premium versions of cars which have been standard cars since the game came out. It's insulting.

Surprise.

All those "Standard" cars from above list are on you retail-vanilla GT5 disc. They are *relic* of the GTPSP game and made available to those who performed the GTPSP>GT5 Arcade Garage transfer with those cars in their "transfer list".

What they do at this point is making them "available" through OCD for all those who still do not have them.

So, those are not "new" or "previously unreleased models". Those cars are with us from the first day, but this is the more transparent and easier method to obtain them than to wait for their potential UCD appearance which may or may not come.

I disagree. I know you're usually the best source for some of these things, but none of those four cars has shown up in the master UCD list, which otherwise contains every other car (except some special cases, like the Jaguar XFR). Also, I recall Famine doing some work with the 1000 ticket to see exactly which cars could be won from it, and I don't believe he ever came across these four cars, as there is no mention of them on any car list I have seen; only the premium versions are listed. So, the only way to get these cars, as far as I know, is from these OCD updates.

They probably were on the game disc from the start, but I don't think PD ever intended for us to have them. I think it was some kind of mistake. As they run through the list of Standard cars and pick a few for the OCD, they may have just forgotten that some of those cars are obsolete and not intended for the game. What confuses me is that they didn't fix it when the TVRs were there, and they have managed to do it again. Really strange.

I disagree. / snip

I have no idea are those car ever appearing on the UCD list, that is why I said "may or may not come".

However, each and every one of them is officially listed on the GT5 official car list: http://www.gran-turismo.com/local/jp/data1/products/gt5/carlist_en.html

On the above link there is disclaimer above the list and it clearly says this:

*When the car is included in both models, the Standard version can be imported from Gran Turismo for PSP®.

So, as I said in my previous post - those are cars obtainable to any player that was using GTPSP>GT5 Arcade Garage transfer to GT5. Of course, cars transferred to Arcade Garage are not available in GT Life mode, AKA Player's Garage. So, making these cars lately appear in OCD is way that PD gave an opportunity to have them in collection of GT Life and made them "obtainable" :)

Would they ever appear in UCD - or not - was beyond my comprehension when I wrote the previous post, so I used "may or may not". Sorry if that was confusing 👍

I do not care whether they always were on the disc or not. I don't need and want them when I can obtain superior looking versions from the dealerships whenever I want. I'm trying to collect all the cars in the game and these duplicates do nothing but steal two spots in the OCD from two unique standard cars that I'd much rather have in my collection.

Tired Tyres
I agree. They have get this completely the wrong way round.

My biggest fear, PD thinking it's ok to keep standards as collectors' items, the only good thing about this is that it's easier for the game to handle standard models, I would like to drive a standard 787B without screen tearing, frame rate drop, longer loading times, etc.

I don't know why the Jaguar XJR-9 isn't a premium/standard. They share the same name, same year, same livery, but even PD separate them.

Well, not sure about you guys, but finally I can get a 69' Camaro Z28 with white stripes instead of the fixed black stripes for the premium model.

The Toyota SUPRA 2.5GT Twin Turbo R '90 is already a standard car, the premium one is Toyota SUPRA 3.0GT Turbo A '88.

Agree. I fail to see the logic with this move.

Because it fits whatever theme the OCD is set at this week? It's not like it takes any effort on their part to put Standard cars in the OCD it (which Standard -> Premium would), it makes collectors happy; and so long as PD don't say that it counts towards a higher car quantity, what difference does it make?

I completely agree. Also, the only real reason to complain about standard versions of cars is that the interior views are bad, as the exterior can be made to look premium with paint and new wheels. I don't accept the whole "wasting slots on the OCD" complaint, I'm pretty sure that if you're that avid of a collector you'll be able to find the cars you're looking for. If not, maybe this will help.

Something I noticed today about the standard vs. premium cars. I bought the '69 Z28 from the online dealer. First of all, the PP are scaled differently to the HP. The one you buy from the dealer can have the carbon hood, wing, and aero front added. It can also be turned into a Race Model. the standard version cannot.

Anyone have a list of the differences in PP between the standard and premium models?

Another note. The Jaguar XJR-9 LM Race Car ’88 can be added to the "both" status. Now I'll have to check each one I have for differences as well.

I agree with you as well, I am not interested in the least in their latest "gimmick." But that's just me, if others are happy then so be it. Guess the guys on the other side will just have to suffer with the likes of that Reventon spyder that comes out next month, I just want a reason to play GT5 again and this is not it.

The dlc xjr 9 has black rims and the standard version has gold rims I didnt check if theres a power difference but the wheels are the only thing i see thats different plus the interiors.

What I'm wondering is why they only add Standard cars of which there are already Premium counterparts (which is frankly pointless), if they're gonna add stuff from GT4 previously not included in retrospect through the OCD I've got a few other suggestions.

Auto Union V16 Type C Streamline 1937
Daihatsu Midget 1963
Ford Model T Tourer 1915

Okay, both the Ford and Auto-Union are opentop so perhaps an interior view needs to be added (they could go for a quick-fix Tank Car solution), but unlike the recent additions I'd welcome those 3 cars for a change (particularly the Model-T) with no DLC on the horizon.
