I wish I had a link - that picture is a screen capture from my confirmation e-mail. When I go to Amazon now, they have the option of buying it from outside sellers. When I clicked on the $20 link this morning, it was coming from that seller and I think I got the last one they had in stock. Now why it was at that price and if they'll honor that price is anyone's guess. Either way, we'll see what happens in the next 10 days or so. Keep your fingers crossed.

Wow for months the price was going up and down. I got mine with first class shipping for $270 in May. Should have made to jump early guys. It is X-mas time and the worse time to buy anything not on sale.....

But for $45 it might just be the box, remember the PS3 box fiasco of 06" .....

I actually ordered my G27 in Oct in anticipation of a Nov release. I paid $258 w/ 2 day.

I hate when retailers start gouging prices like they have been on this wheel. It's good for it's price point, but when you start getting to $350+ there are better wheels to be had.

I'm lucky, my Dad was biding on eBay for a G25 for about half an hour last month when he had to go to work. There was 2 hours to go and it was at $170 so he put a bid of $180 on it and came back and he had won! I was so happy. Since then they have gone up heaps, and in Australia they are like $400

Back in I think June everybody had a chance to buy this wheel half off at Best Buy online and in store for half off $150.00

A lot of people held out not knowing when GT5 would be released but for those that bought it then just to have it before GT5 came out were the smartest ones.

No it's not. It was never ment to be a hardcore gamers wheel, it's an arcade wheel and it's perfect for arcade racing.

I have one and it's a great wheel, even compaired to my G25. Conisdering i paid $100 for it brand new from DickSmith it's great. I am certainly keeping it even though they are going for $250 on eBay in Aus.

Got my eyes on the old driving force gt. Any complaints? The g27 is nice. I feel the clutch pedal and the "longer throw" shifter may slow me down.

GT5 rookie here, so of course I was searching high and low for a steering wheel and almost broke down for the $400+ inflated prices out there (playing this game with the controller sucks!)

Luckily someone posted a comment on the amazon listing for a discount code through some site called bountii.. Never heard of it, but I gave it a shot.... Well it worked!

I ordered the G27 directly from Logitech on Monday night for only $269 using the code: pm337eymx , i got free ground shipping, but I had to pay tax since I'm in Cali... Total damage was just shy of $300 and it shipped today!!!

Hopefully this can help someone else in the market for the G27 save a few $$$$

As a long time Amazon customer, I can definitely tell you that this is not price gouging on Amazon's part. 3rd part companies often sell their inventory through Amazon. This is why you will often see "buy new or used from x sellers". When Amazon does NOT have that particular item in stock, it lists the cheapest price from a 3rd party site. Since Amazon is currently out of stock, it shows the lowest 3rd party price. This price happens to be $387 at the moment.

Final update...unfortunately, sad news.

Yesterday I received a package from Apex Suppliers. A small package. Not a G27. I opened it up and found they shipped me a XBox remote. I called to inform Apex of their mistake. They found my order, told me they see I ordered a G27 - but still didn't recognize I only paid $20 for it. They told me they'd send me a return shipping label to return the Xbox remote and they'd get me my G27 promptly.

Sadly, I received this e-mail today:

Dear Robert,

We are very sorry for the mistake with your order, it looks like it was a shipping mistake and unfortunately the correct unit is no longer in stock so we will process a return for a full refund. I will send you a prepaid label via email in the next 2-3 days.

Once again i am truly sorry for what happened.
