Problem with photos from GT5.

I've taken 500 photos in GT5s photomode now!

Anyway, I have a problem now... Well I had it all the time, but didn't notice it. When I export a picture taken in GT5 to my PS3, then from my PS3 to USB and to PC, the photographs get damaged. Not as in the quality, but the file.

Whenever I try to open the photo in Photoshop CS5 I get this message:
'This document contains Adobe Photoshop data which appears to be damaged. Continue and ignore the Photoshop data?' I always click OK and the image opens.

So I've decided to try out some HDR. I took 5 shots in GT5 ( -4, -2, 0, 2, 4 EV). When I try to Automate>Merge to HDR pro the same error comes up. If I click OK, the images don't seem to have any EV values and I can't do any HDR. Saem thing happens in Photomatrix.

Yes I tried using a different USB. I've even tried using my PSP memory stick.

Have you tried opening the picture in photoshop, copying the image into a new document then saving it as new?

Hmm... its been like it from day one so doubt any fixes will come. Shame really.

Most HDR creation programs allows manual input of the EV values so that's probably the only way around it. There are loads of people doing HDR pics in the Photomode forum so that looks like the only way.

Yeah, I've just tired doing it manually and it works...

I got this same problem.. did 4 shots and used the HDR function in PS CS3 and it came out looking a mess with no adjustment to the EV..

My guess is unlike my DSLR GT5 does not spit out Eifx data so it does not know what to do with the EV.

I too get the same message, though I'm pretty sure image quality stayed. Or atleast it didn't change anything enough for me to notice... and I'm using CS4 myself.

Using photomatrix seems to work better

I got the message too using a trial dl of CS5. I do a transfer just as the OP does. I don't know. If I had to guess, I don't think you are doing anything wrong. Maybe PS is interpreting data that is mistaking for something else. I mean, how can an image which has never touched PS have a damaged PS data? Doesn't make sense to me.
I used HDR with 2-3 images and they came out fine for my first time trying.

The only other thing is this, you are saying the EV data is lost. Is there really any real EXIF data saved with the GT5 photos? It's not like this is a real camera with real shutter speeds and real apertures.

having the same problem but found an easy way around it...

open the jpeg with internet explorer then right click picture and save as .bmp file... after that you can open the .bmp file in photoshop without any problems

EDIT: sorry wrong thread... this was meant as response to those who get data errors making it impossible to open gt5 jpegs in photoshop

I get the error as well, but I am using CS4, I just ignore it.

Its nothing to fix.It has something to do with PD not wanting you to edit the photos you took in GT5.
You get that message even when you try to turn a photo clockwise or counter in windows photo viewer.
There are ways to work around it obviously. Its nothing wrong with your ps3 usb stick etc.Its something like a copyright issue.
