So, who has been keeping tabs on the Playstation references?

I am surprised there isn't a Golf R and Scirocco or a Polo GTI(to go up against the Swift and MINI) in the field. I also wonder about the 500 Abarth program from a few years back. The 500 was a popular car when it debuted.

I wonder how MX-5 Cup cars would do out there.
Probably well, if it was set up right. With V8 Utes having a lack of direction lately and the Toyota 86 Series over-subscribed before its first race, there's plenty of interest in a cheap one-make series.

Edit: I remember seeing a MX5 Cup car at Island Magic (or something like that) last year actually. It was no match got the GT3/GT4 cars it was racing but it was suprizingly quick and the driver was pretty handy.

There's been one of the Fiat's listed for sale for a while now (in the AA magazine at least). Didn't they blow their budget?

Pretty ho-hum when only one car finishes on the lead lap. Hopefully next year the competition steps it up some.
Apparently the Sherrin BMW is just on the lead lap, but I agree with you sentiment.

The quality of driver/s in the lead car would make a fair difference.

Anyone know what happened to the Walden Merc?

Chasing fault codes. Went into limp home mode.

That was a pretty common issue today, which was kind of funny. Production race cars still using the production ECU which was not designed for competition and throws a fit every once in a while.

I swear Wall was going to get spun at Skyline. The guy in the X was certainly thinking about it.

To add to the ECU issue, kind of ironic MoTeC is an Australian product. I wonder if teams can use it.

Get some big names in there and this will be a better event.

I don't mind the big names. It's mainly the preparation factor. That A45 was fast. I wasn't too aware of who was driving. John Bowe and Paul Morris were celebrity enough for today but, get Grant Denyer and even McLaughlin in there.

That was some good fun. I had the race playing on my phone while I tuned a 135i and Evo around Bathurst in pCARS :D

I really hope this event takes off. And I have no problem with big names entering it. If it gets to a point where only big names can win, then I would like to see seperate classification for Pro/Am drivers, with seperate silver wear....but in my opinion, more big name drivers just attracts more attention, more sponsors, more manufacturers, etc.

Was there any post-race stewards' investigation of the Wall-Caine incident?
Doesn't appear so.
Unlike the outright win, the battle for the final spot on the podium came down to a brutal exchange between Mitsubishi drivers David Wall and Michael Caine in the final 10 minutes of the race.

A tyre failure within the final two hours dropped Wall – and teammate John Bowe – off the lead lap and ultimately dropped them into the fight for third with the Caine / Gerry Murphy Massel-supported Evo X.

With the later-specification car significantly quicker on the straights, the pair ultimately collided at Murray’s corner within the final eight minutes of the race.

Both cars ended in the gravel however both were remarkably able to resume (though with heavy damage) with Wall re-passing a limping Caine soon after their contact.

“Our car is 30km/hr slower in a straight line than the top 10 or 12 cars, so I was just holding my defensive line,” Wall explained.

“When we got down to Murray’s I moved once to the left and he went to the right and I think he basically mis-judged and hit my right rear. Luckily she’s four wheel drive, we used the speed limiter to get out of the gravel but the damage was pretty bad.”

Caine – who ultimately limped his damaged car to fourth and second in the A1 class – unsurprisingly had a different view.

“I think he knew that I was a bit quicker,” he said.

“I went around the outside coming into the last turn. The footage will show what the reality is.”

Just watching some PWC GTS from St Pete, pretty good action....but man are those Xbows ever ugly. The one looks like it has neon green buck teeth  The Maseratis look good though 👍

Real Time Racing may have to go back to running Nissans. :D
Real Time has run Honda products for as long as I can remember.

Peter ran a Sentra for a spell along with the Acuras. He was the first to do a reverse burnout on track. I remember that. ;)

Yeah I remember the B15 Sentra but I don't remember any more than that. Acura takes up a majority though.

I just can't think of an Acura that fits in with GT4. Does the NSX qualify or is that too high a spec?
