not sure about that. Most GTE cars in the game are 2016 models. I am curious if we will get it in Porsche Pack or LeMans Pack?

LeMans Pack is likely to be dedicated to overall winners. The 911 RSR never won the 24 Hours overall, as far as I know.

However, in the cars we know, the 917K is in the Porsche Pack. We already have a few overall winners in the game. It's possible we could get the RSR in the Le Mans pack, but I'm thinking it will come in a separate DLC.

Where have you seen that the 917K was confirmed for the Porsche pack? All I know is that it's coming as DLC but nothing about where it's coming. Personally, I think the Can-Am Porsches, the road Porsches, the 961, the 935 and the RSR will be on the Porsche Pack. The 917K and Long Tail, plus the 919 Hybrid will be on the Le Mans Pack.

Looking at the Classic Le Mans Pack. We can see certain Le Mans(Vintage Prototype B) Porsches already. If the '58 Testa Rossa is in the Ferrari Pack, it matches up with the '59 DBR1/300 in the game. This could lead us to any cars on this Le_Mans1952 list to go against the 300 SL.

Switching to some of the small classes of cars and judging by the variety in the Fun Pack, I'm thinking at some stage, we'll get these:

- Vintage RX VW Beetle(RX)
- Vintage RX Mini Cooper S(RX)

- Vintage-GT B Ford Capri
- Vintage-GT B Mini Cooper S

- Group B Peugeot 205
- Group B Lancia Delta S4

- Modern Stockcar Toyota Camry

- Road F VW Golf R

- Touring Car VW Golf GTI
- Touring Car Audi RS3 LMS

- V8 Supercars: it was revealed by Ian Bell, VASC wanted too much for licensing and all the tracks. So, I'm thinking, some tracks, yes. Cars? No. What we have is all we'll get.

- Vintage F1/F3: I can't call it. Seems weird to have all those Lotus and no competition.

- Vintage Indycar 1968 Brawner-Ford

SMS are doing a pretty good job with their pics. I'm looking forward to the next reveals.

Lots of good and interesting suggestions in your post and many which I hope come to fruition.

I have no special knowledge, but I presume that some of the classic Lotus content is without competitors due to SMS not having the F1 license. We can get a varied look to the grid by mixing the winged and non-winged Lotus 49's. Assuming that the licensing issues are very restrictive I would like SMS to add the Lotus 70 Formula 5000 car (Ford or Chevy powered, High wing, low wing and no wing) to race against the 49's and 72. F5000 did race in mixed non-championship races with F1 cars back in period and had a wonderful deep bass sound which would contrast nicely with the sound of the Cosworth DFV's.

Unfortunately I can't see any of your suggestions arriving until PC3 or the DLC for that game apart from the category GTC 1958 Ferrari Le Mans car.

I hope we do get the Ferrari 512 S or M since we are getting the Porsche 917K along with a classic lemans track.

Agreed - I think this car is an essential partner to the Porsche 917K.

I am also hoping that the Porsche 917 Can Am car is not put in a class of one. It is very strange to me that there is no classic McLaren content - they utterly dominated the Can Am series until Porsche killed the series with their 917 Can Am cars, also McLaren produced some superb F5000 cars which could be raced against the Lotus 49 and 72, plus obviously their incredible record with cars in F1.

Figured it'd be like that. Does anyone know if the expected Porsche RSR is the 2017 model (mid-engine)?

I would hope that it is the rear engined RSR from 1975 which dethroned the Ferrari Daytona as top GT car with a class win at Le Mans. Currently there is no sensible competition in the game for the Daytona - the GTA category is currently a real mess being a mix of saloons and GT's.

Personally I think SMS should add a Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 3.0 to the Daytona, plus a Corvette to go with the current V12 E Type and 240Z. The Corvette raced against both the Jag in SCCA competition and the Daytona and Porsche at Le Mans. It would be sensible to separate the saloons (Camaro and Mustang) and put them in a new category - perhaps called GTTA ( GT Touring A) - to this they could add the big Merc from GTB which is too fast for that category and perhaps add a Jaguar 3.8 Mark 2 Saloon at the lower end of the class and an XJ5.3C at the top end of the class. Maybe also add a Ford Capri or two (RS2600 Weslake with 320 bhp and RS3100 GAA Cosworth with 470bhp would fit nicely).

The more cars we get, the more we need the custom championships feature - for example I enjoy racing GTA and GTB mixed together, but I would want to exclude the GT cars and sometimes also exclude the Camaro. The new Mustang with its bulges and obvious modifications is not like a Trans Am spec car, but more like a Group 5 BSCC spec car from the 1966-69 period (although they actually used Falcon Sprints as they had a lower homologated weight than the Mustang).

I'm happy with the direction of the DLC as announced / leaked although I think a classic Mini Cooper S and a Mazda MX5 are really essential parts of any Fun pack. I get the impression that SMS think deeply and quite logically about the car content whereas with some other games I cannot fathom the thought process at all and the selections appear random and not linked to any long term strategy to develop the game.

I'm going by the number of cars in each pack. If the packs line up as in the OP, there are 9 Porsches with a question about the 991 RSR. I see your logic and I'm not disagreeing with anyone's guesses. There are a few angles to see where these cars fit.

They grouped the GT A Mustang in a Fun Pack. It could easily have been in a separate DLC for an America Pack or something. So, just because it should logically be in a Le Mans Pack, I'm looking at from how SMS packaged its PC2 DLC.

I've heard rumours that the team had gone to scan the Chaparral 2J and record sounds for it. Nothing concrete yet though, but as you said, the exclusion of historic McLaren race cars is quite strange. They have a good relationship with them so Licensing shouldn't be an issue so I don't really see why we haven't got any yet. The McLaren M1A or M1B would be a nice competitor to the Lotus Type 30 and a McLaren M20 for the 917/10.

I believe Ian mentioned, SMS got access to some multi million dollar cars in private collections. Maybe we get some surprises.

As for the touring cars. I agree, more cars from GB are essential for a Fun pack and the current classes. I count GT A & GT B as the sleeper Classes in this game.

Yes - I particularly enjoy GTA, GTB, GTC and GTD. I hope they can get a classic Mini Cooper, but if they are restricted to makes currently in the game perhaps we could have a Renault 8 Gordini - that was one of my favourite cars to drive in GT6. Or maybe an NSU - I believe the license would be held by Audi. I would love to get some small (but rapid) rear engine cars - the Bevan Imp which won the BSCC title three times in a row would be lovely, but is probably too much to wish for.

The McLaren M1A or M1B would be a nice competitor to the Lotus Type 30.

You mean the Lotus 40 - when the driver Richie Ginther was asked what he thought of the new Lotus 40 he said, "Same as the 30, but with ten more mistakes!"

I would prefer it if they skipped the 2J fan car as it was only used a handful of times. I would prefer a 2A and 2C to use against the Lotus 40 and a McLaren M1A and B plus a 2D and 2F to use against the Ferrari 300 P4.

I went to the London Classic Car show last February and its partner exhibition for classic race cars and some of the leaked DLC cars were at those shows so perhaps that is where SMS made some of the contacts. There were over £100m of classic Ferraris as well as Jaguar D Types, Merc 300 SLR and a huge collection of ex Jacky Ickx cars as the six time Le Mans winner was being honoured.

Yep, that's what I meant. Must have gotten then mixed up. Here's an interesting article on the car that I read a short while ago.

I have a 1/18th scale model of the 2A in my room, would love to see that in the game as well.

You know how I was raging about the obscene price of the Season Pass and the day one DLC? Well, somebody has been listening to my complaints and I was able to buy it on the PS Store for $30! WOOOOOOO! I received the Motorsports Pack and downloaded the latest Fun Pack DLC, so I've won big here. Less than a dollar for each piece of content aye @BrandonW77

Oh. yeah. An Imp and D-Type would be great.

Of the 3 packs still to come, I'm looking forward to the Le Man one the most.

Not to sound spoilt or anything but assuming we wont get any other packs outside of these ones I would have preferred none Manufacture exclusive packs.

Don't get me wrong I'm still looking forward to them but still.. Roll on March ;D

Surprised I didn't notice this when I first updated the OP with the Fun Pack but it seems the Le Mans and Porsche pack have 9(!) cars.
I think Hot Wheels has already dropped a hint as to what will be in one of the two DLC's you mentioned:

That was actually kind of dumb of them. But I’m hyped! Will it be in the class with the GT40 Mark IV, Ferrari 330 P4 etc.?

If I remember right we have read some time ago that the Lemans pack would consist the top 10 ranking from the several classes. Not sure if that is over multiple years?

And meanwhile have a lot of fun with the FUN pack. Take e.g. the Bronco Brocky around the Nordschleife or the Mustang RTR66 on a rallycross track. So much FUN.

Enjoy!

PS4 talk:
Ok I hope nobody gets me wrong or get somewhat offended for what I'm gonna say.
I'm trying to convince myself about buying the discounted Season Pass, and I even added it to the Cart, but I'm having hard time with the price.
It's not that I can't afford paying 25$,I can, but I just can't validate the price.
I bought GTS, which is an awesome game, for 28$.
I bought AC+season pass for around 35$.
There are full amazing games on the store for 18$ or less than 25$ like the witcher 3, bloodborne, the last of us, uncharted 4,Battlefield 1,Bioh, rainbow 6, Dirt 4 etc... And many more...
I play PC2 but not a lot. I didn't try every track yet or even 1/4 of the cars. So why I care for the season pass? Coz most of my friends, if not all, bought it and I don't wanna be left out.
I just don't feel that 25$ is a good price! Ending up paying 85$ (60+25) for the game doesn't sound right.

My guess is that this car is included in one of the DLC packs:

Only you can decide - if in doubt, leave it till later - perhaps wait until the next DLC has been released or the one after that.

For me the decision is easy because even though I don't play many hours a week and don't consider myself a gamer, racing PC2 online is my hobby. From your post - you are a gamer and PC2 is just another game - in which case the decision on whether to get the season pass can wait.
