I wonder where is Porsche 961. There was even unfinished model screenshot from PCars 2 somewhere. This DLC looks like it fully revealed, and 961 doesn't fit in LeMans pack. I think it could be cancelled. Too bad. I would prefer it instead of one of Moby Dicks for Group 5. Now we have 4 Porsche cars in Group 5 :P

I found that screenshot:
Project-CARS-2-Porsche-961-1987.jpg

Porsche 961 won its class in Lemans. Porsche 961 has a short lived career because Group B was banned. Porsche 961 only races happened at Lemans. So most likely yes it will be in the Lemans pack or maybe as a free dlc if SMS surprises us with a gift.

Oh... You are right, i didn't notice that :D

I was pretty sure it was more american "trans am" racer... I checked racingsportcars.com and it definitely is more LeMans car.

I think the Porsche 961 looks more like a IMSA racecar you mean :D

... maybe there will be more DLC? Who knows?! Isn't it better to wait and see, rather than assuming the worst before it has or hasn't happened?

For the record, I have no idea if there will be more stuff arriving other than that already released, announced or speculated upon, I just prefer to wait and be happy with what is delivered rather than expect to be disappointed at what might not be delivered :).

EDIT : Most of this is because I've got used to knowing that plans change, having seen content come and go through WMD1 and WMD2. It would be a pity if Interlagos doesn't make it but, at present, it is not clear whether it will arrive in any of the 3 remaining DLC packs (I include the Porsche one in that, since it hasn't actually been released yet) that we do know are coming or if it will arrive in another DLC later, in-between scheduled DLC or even as a freebie. Point is, we only know what we heard from The Wookie, nothing more, nothing less :)
There are at least still 3 tracks coming in the DLC packs classic le mans and probably interlagos and mugello in the ferrari pack but since we got the porsche test track we might see ferraris fiorano test track also

Erm...

The 917/10 looks incredible + 2 new classes! Can Am and Vintage Prototype A.

Pretty sure the sounds are not finalised quite yet but still cool to see the cars in action.

Knew from day 1 there will be a vintage prototype A since a B class is already in the game so the naming off the class otherwise wouldn't have made sense. At launch even the ferrari challenge class popped up when you searched in classes in online lobbies. Now they patched it out.Hope vintage prototype a gets more cars than just the 917

I hope SMS does a proper job and includes the Mazda 787b in the le mans pack everything else would be a huge disappointment. When I think about iconic cars that raced at le mans the 787 is one off the first ones I can think off and a ford GT40 in the mk1 or mk2 trim would be nice also

Yes and no. In PC2 there are lots of cars from different eras in one class. Look in GTO class. Most cars from this class are from late 80s and early 90s, and there is one Diablo GT from 1999 :) Mazda 787B is actually more popular because of Gran Turismo and many other games, soo... It is possible if they have Mazda licence. I know it won't be correct, but in PC2 there are a lot of incorrectly assigned cars :)

I also think we will get one of Ford GT40 probably Vintage Prototype A class this time, and it would fit Gulf Helmet DLC graphics...

And something for VPA from Ferrari would come in Ferrari Pack.

The most logical car is not always the one which SMS pick - for example we have a 1969 Trans Am Camaro. I expected the DLC Mustang to be one which raced with that car - i.e. a Boss 302, but instead we have a 1966 Fastback.

Exactly and in Assetto Corsa we also have Mazda 787B and it is racing with Sauber C9 and Porsche 962. So it is not so much overpowered

Correct. However, just look at the whole of the Group C and GT1 classes. All the cars within those are from the same group of cars. E.g. There are no late 2000s GT1 in the GT1 class and early 90s Group C in that class.

Of course, they can just decide the 787B over the 767 but the 767 is already available at the time of the cars in the class.

Personally i would prefer Mazda 767 to have more realistic Group C class. But we will see.

This probably won't happen until PC3 anyway. They don't have any Mazdas and I doubt they'd be too picky on who has the MX-5 Cup or the GTO anyway.

Yeah you are probably right.

I am still trying to figure out LeMans Pack Content.

We know about these cars

-Porsche 919
-Audi R18
-Toyota TS050

There is probability we will get missing Porsche 961

I think we will get Vintage Prototype A Ford GT40 (gulf livery would fit DLC helmet graphics)

but there is still place for 4 cars... I saw that Fun Pack and Porsche Pack have new car classes added. I am wondering if 1998 GT2 class is not coming. Only 2 cars would complete this class Dogde Viper and Porsche 911 Gt2, and there is still room for 2 vintage LeMans Cars. I would be really happy with it. Together LMP900, GT1 and GT2 would make great set for classic 1998 LeMans race :)

I am also thinking about GT1 Lamborghini addition. Two candidates. Diablo Gt1 (similar story to F50 GT1 but it didn't race at LeMans), or Murcielago R-GT. Not exactly correct era of GT1, but Murcielago (and Countach) are the only Lamborghini we don't have in PC2, and it raced at LeMans actually. So maybe we will get one?

There are about 4 cars left that we don't know what they are at all. However, you can expect they'd be class/overall winners at Le Mans in existing classes. There could be the Jaguar D-Type seeing as we have both the manufacturer and class already in game. The LMP900 Porsche wouldn't go amiss either. However, that would probably come with the "too much Porsche DLC" backlash. Those are the 2 obvious ones I can think of but they might not even come.

Well... Both Chrysler Viper GTS (team Oreca) and Porsche 911 GT2 had won LeMans 24 in GT2 class.
1998/1999 for Viper and 1996/1997 for Porsche...

GT2 class in 1996-1998 was dominated by Vipers and 911 Gt2 so this to cars are enough to replicate this class. There was also NSX and Callaway and Macros.

But we still don't know if SMS was able to get Chrysler/Dodge brand in DLC. BUT! They had Panoz, Opel and Citroen so why not Chrysler?

Also they can add McLaren F1 GTR (the short tail version from 1996) to GTO class. It won LeMans and was racing against Ferrari F40LM...

I think that this set of cars will have more vintage LM cars than modern because of the track being classic LM. I also would expect the cars to be from brands that are still going strong today because SMS needs a ton of references to make the cars come alive. It's a good bet that the cars will show up in existing classes in game and/or Vintage Prototype A.

My guess is going to be:
919 16'
TS050 16'
R18 16'
961 (GTO)
917 LH (VPTA)
Ferrari 250 Testarossa (with AMR DBR1)
Jaguar D Type (with AMR DBR1)
Ferrari 512S (VPTA)

Some good guesses there! I would also guess the 1965 Ferrari 250 LM - that is a Le Mans Legend and the last Ferrari to win overall. Also the 1968 spec Ford GT40 Mark 1 which won Le Mans in both 1968 and 1969 - that's definitely a legend! Both those cars would fit well with the existing Ford Mark 4 and Ferrari 330 P4 - they were designed earlier, but due to rule changes both outlived their bigger brothers and lived on into the Porsche 917 era.

You’ve got room for one more car there, there’s going to be 9 in the Le Mans Pack.

Possibly more if some of the Ferrari and Porsche models are in the one make packs rather than the Le Mans pack.

No clue what it has to do with the years they raced in.The 787b raced against the sauber c11,porsche 962 and jaguar xjr-14 which are usually just newer versions off the current cars we have in the game besides the porsche obviously

Some other cars that could fit for the le mans pack:
Peugeot 905
Peugeot 908
Audi R10
Jaguar xjr14
Sauber c11
Toyota ts010 (a overlooked beauty and sounds godly with that v10)
Mercedes 300 slr
Honda NSX GT2 class winner in 95
McLaren f1gtr short version
Viper GTS-R basically started the american dominance in the GT class in recent years
Porsche wsc-95
Porsche rs spyder
Porsche 956
A Matra Simca would make sense they won from 72-74 and pretty sweet and the matra v12s sound amazing in real life

Group C existed from 1982 until 1994 which was the last time group C cars where allowed at le mans

It did but there are two sets of Group C1 regulations. The 1990s 3.5L NA Group C1 cars would outrun all of the 80s Group Cs we have in game, but I think they would have an interesting fight with the Nissan GTP.

Also I would love to see the Matra V12 Group 6 car. If I had to find a 9th car that was vintage for my guess, that would be it. I don't know how hard it would be too get references for it. My wishlist would be 90s GT cars and the Panoz LMP900, but I think they are unlikely choices.

I'm really really really hoping we get both Interlagos and Mugello, and are not shafted with Fiorano instead of one of those two

Well most of my cars I would like to see are cars from the 90s or2000s like the lister storm, saleen s7r or maserati mc12 gt1 and even when it was a complete failure the nissan gtr lm nismo for the lmp1 class.Front engined lmps are basically dead but they look so much cooler than ordinary lmps and panoz actually did pretty well back then

Well my guess is:

919 16'
TS050 16'
R18 16'
961 (GTO)
Ford GT40 1968 (VPA)
Porsche 911 GT2 (GT2/GTS)
Chrysler Viper GTS-R (GT2/GTS)
McLaren F1 GTR (Short Tale) (GTO)
Hondda NSX (GT2/GTS)

Most are lucky guess but i would like to know how close I am :D (and my dream of GT2/GTS class)

I love peoples guesses on the Lemans pack but dont be so confident in them because it could lead to bitter disappointment.

I do wish we also get a Mercedes CLR and the Audi R8C for the LMP900 class. I doubt it really. CLR in my opinion is a Lemans icon afterall it flew like a German plane in 1999.

I am not ;) To be honest i think we won't get GT2/GTS cars, and i would be most happy with these cars.

But Ford GT40 1968 i am pretty sure about it... It is one of the biggest legends of LeMans, helmet graphics match gulf livery of it, SMS have nice contact with Ford (last DLC was full of it), and it will complete Vintage Prototype A class with Ferrari Vintage Prototype A in last DLC. And this Ford GT40 we already have in PC2 is different model. I am curious if my guess is right with this one :D

Just look at it! ;)

Man as Ferrari fan it hurts when the Ford GT40 is mentioned or talked about.

I do prefer that Ford Gt40 over the one we have in PC2. Gulf Livery on the Ford and the Porsche have to be one of the best liveries in motorsport history.
