"The car to beat in GT racing in 1973? The Ferrari 364 GTB ‘Daytona’, already waiting for you in Project CARS 2."

Must be a typo. No matter, it'll be looking at my burzel anyway. :)
Must be part of the Ferrari DLC, seems they messed up their release order.

LeMans pack would probably look like this now (at least I hope :D)
  • Porsche 919 (LMP1)
  • Audi R18 (LMP1)
  • Toyota TS050 (LMP1)
  • Porsche 961 (GTO?)
  • Porsche 971 Long Tail (Vintage Prototype A)
  • Peugeot 905 (Group C1)
  • Mazda 787b (Group C2)
  • Mercedes C11 (Group C2)
  • Jaguar D-Type (Vintage GT-C)
  • Classic Le Mans

If they did a C2, it would more likely be Group C Junior/C2 than the 2nd era of Group C.

Only problem withi the Porsche 911 RSR 2.8 is with gearbox fully extended you can't top 160mph. All others in that class go up to 170mph+. They usually catch you when changing from 4th to 5th :(

Yes - I'm not sure why SMS didn't select the 911 RSR 3.0 instead - unsurprisingly it was more powerful and faster and raced competitively in period with the Ferrari Daytona.

I would be surprised if the 1968 spec Ford GT40 Mark 1 isn't included in the in the Le Mans pack - I don't think there is a bigger legend! The same GT40 beat the Porsche 917's to win Le Mans in both 1968 and 1969.

I would love to see a Jaguar D Type to go up against the Aston Martin DBR1/300 already in the game. There was a rumour of a 250TR Ferrari - if so that would be magic as we could then use three distinctly different looking 1950's Le Mans cars.

I doubt we will get a Peugeot as that would add a new marque to the game, even though the 905 is a legend!

Talking about the Le Mans pack, we are pretty sure the porsche 919, audi r18 and toyota ts050 are coming along with the 961 (gto class ?).
That leaves us 5 guesses.
The first clue we have is Le mans ICONS compose this pack. Icons.
The second is the fact that members of SMS said several times that they would like to enrich "orphan" categories (with only one or two types of contenders).
The third clue is the gulf style helmet on the cover of this pack.

The ford gt40 (1968) seems likely to be on the way (Vintage prototype a). It had the gulf livery. And it is definitely an iconic car.

The mirage gr8 (1975) is also a Le Mans winner, has gulf livery and would compete nicely in the group 6 class.
I am really expecting a group 6 car, it could be as well the matra ms670.

I would be so hyped to get the ferrari 512s but it might be in the ferrari pack

For the last 3 cars, I expect at least one vintage gt c (the maserati birdcage would be an awesome surprise, a d type jag or c1 corvette would also look good), a group c car (mazda 767b ? I know it has not the same performances than the c9 or xjr9 but still).

What are your guesses ?;)

The Porsche 961 would fit in the GTO class. It's 1,150 kg (2,540 lb) and 680 hp. That class is already a jumbled mess but it's the best place for it.

If we have 5 guesses after the first cars you mentioned I would go with:

1. Jaguar D Type - I think it won Le Mans 3 times - the final time after Jaguar had already disbanded the factory team so privateers came in 1, 2, 3, 4 and 6th - for me that makes it the number 1 Le Mans Legend / Icon of all time!
2. Ford GT40 Mark 1 (1968 wide body spec) - Ford had withdrawn their factory effort by then and the private JWA team won in 1968 and 1969 with the same chassis number car, beating the Porsche 908's both years and 917's in 1969, however I would put it in prototype B with the older cars as it would be too slow for A and similar spec cars raced in 1967 against the 330 P4 and Ford MK 4.
3. Ferrari 250LM - the 1965 winner and the last Ferrari to take an overall victory at Le Mans so that makes it a legend! Although called the 250 LM it won with a 275 size (3.3 litre V12). It was raced extensively against the Ford GT40 MK 1 - it was slower, but reliable.
4. Ferrari 250TR - details of this were leaked - I believe a 1957 spec car was mentioned.
5. Porsche 917LH - I think that's almost a certainty based on leaks.

I would guess not a Birdcage Maserati - we don't have the marque and although a legend it wasn't a Le Mans legend. The Mirage GR8 - again not a marque in the game and possibly difficult to get licensing on - it was a legend and would fit nicely with the Alpine A442 and Porsche 936.

Ferrari 512S or M or both - I would love to have them both, but they didn't win Le Mans so perhaps in the Ferrari pack?

That's what I was thinking about... would like to get the Ferraris in their own pack, not because I don't like them (I love them actually) but I would prefer more "original" cars for that Le Mans pack, from different manufacturers from the prancing horse

I hope race winners won't be a precondition for cars included in the Le Mans DLC. That's not to say there shouldn't be winners in the pack, but it's getting boring to always see the same cars repeated across different games. There are already plenty of Le Mans legends in this title, so I think it should be a matter of filling the remaining gaps combined with some unexpected classics.

Now we're talking. That would be another Porsche a little closer to what I want to see.

But where this 924 GTP would fit?

Personally i hope that 919 Hybrid and this 961 GTO are the only Porsche we will get. After Porsche Legends pack there is too much of it. I hope we will get other brands in LeMans pack.

McLaren F1 GTR, Ford GT40 and D-Type are good guesses. 3 hybrids 919, R18 and TS050 are also quite possible.

I’m also hoping the Le Mans pack turns up some different cars, I think it would be a bad move to add more Porsches just after the release of the Porsche Pack. The Porsche 919 is a must for me though. Same with the Ferrari’s add maybe one Ferrari and save the rest for the Ferrari pack.
