Would appreciate it if someone could post the patch size here as soon as it's known - as usual I need to plan ahead if I'm gonna have a chance to get this downloaded on launch day!
Not sure what platform your are on. But if you have pre-ordered on the ps4 the game will auto download from today but be locked until midnight Thursday i believe.

Pre-ordered on PS4 but it's a physical copy, so I only have to worry about downloading the day one patch (once the disc arrives of course; no guarantees that will happen on Friday either.....).

/nitpick mode on

Midnight Friday (aka 0:00 or first thing)

People that are quoting 21st are referring to 23:59.59 which is really misleading.

lmfao it's midnight Thursday! Night comes after day so how can it be midnight Friday.

It's precisely this common misconception that has lead to the confusion.

Midnight is defined as 0:00hrs or 12am which is the start of each day.

Except that it is appearing to be a Global launch so some of us are getting it on the 21st. According to Steam, I will be playing at 18:00 EDT Thursday, Sep 21st.

Europe will be playing by 23:00 BST on the 21st.

Yup, 6PM on US east coast, 3PM on the west coast, according to the Steam countdown.

Steam has always done global releases AFAIK... otherwise we'd all just set our clocks to whichever timezone got the game first.

Is patch 1.03 the day one patch? I've read on GTP that patch 1.04 will feature driver swaps. If 1.03 is #1, swaps come soon after that.

I don't think this is true on console. I know it launches at midnight in the U.K. and here on the east coast according to the PSN store. Which makes it seem like it's a midnight local time launch.

The last time I checked it showed 11PM CST on Thursday.

Granted I can't see myself staying up that late so as long as it's available Friday morning I'm not to worried about the actual release time.

Well, that's unfortunate. I will shed a tear for you then while I play right after my supper tomorrow night.

Just another privelige we of the PC Master Race get (SARCASM!!)

There's always a way to play early. ;)

Steam launch is global release. North Americans on PC will be playing tomorrow afternoon. 18:00 EDT, 15:00 PDT.

I was not aware of that... 6 PM EST is good for me, i thought i was only going to play on Friday. So lost with the countdown thread i ended up setting Friday in my internal clock.

On PS4 the patch is roughly 13gb

I’m sorry to hear that. Where do you live that they have such strict limits?
Nah its got nothing to do with strict limits. I carry around a pocket WiFi with 8gb on it. The fact that its 13gb is just mind-blowing. I might have to go around a mates house to update it

Nah its got nothing to do with strict limits. I carry around a pocket WiFi with 8gb on it. The fact that its 13gb is just mind-blowing. I might have to go around a mates house to update it
It's probably 13GB because ot most likely contains all the preorder bonus content. That might not have been packaged into the core game files. 8 cars plus all of their related physics/tire models as well as the other day 1 fixes, I can see that becoming 13GB very easily and quickly.

Good point. I didn't think of the 2 dlc packs. I might just have to go to a mates house to update it.
