The sequel will have the “largest track roster of any console racing game ever” as per the Steam listing. How many tracks will we see and across how many iconic locations?

Andy Tudor: Yes, Project CARS 2 does have the largest track roster on console. As of today, that number is 62. If you break the 62 down by number of individual layouts, you can make the number even bigger.

States 62 locations currently.

So is that 62 locations on release day??
I don't know, to be honest. Could be about 50 on release or 50 plus about 10 DLC. From the Track List, we have a predicted maximum of 52. I'm expecting that number to reduce than increase based on the removal of Sachsenring/Mugello.

We're still working on licensing for some of the tracks guy. Just a few, but some important ones... If it all comes through we'll be over 60 (including classic versions as a separate track because they are dramatically different). If licensing goes against us it could be as 'low' as 57.

Are these figures (57 to 62 locations of tracks) at launch, or are they taking into account future DLC?

Ah. That makes sense.

That "low" number is about 3 times the number of locations in GT Sport.

Just for reference, how many unique locations does the latest Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport titles have?

Hopefully Pocono, Sebring, Trenton, Riverside, Ontario, mosport all make it eventually.

Gran turismo idk. But forza 6 had 27 unique locations at launch and 29 after dlc. With the variations it was around 190 something tracks. Either way project cars 2 will almost double that which is just crazy in a good way.

To not forget, Forza tricks the numbers by reversing most or all layouts.

They only do that one their fantasy tracks, of which there are only 4 with a total of 21 layouts. Here is a list of all tracks available in FM6 (There's also the top gear track, but I don't count that).

I can't stand reversed real world circuits, but often enough, fantasy circuits can drive better in reversed form.

The Nordschleife in reverse was the bane of my Enthusia Life career.

Doing Knockhill in reverse would be awesome since it was the first UK track to legally gain a license to run events in the reverse direction a few years ago.
