Great! funny guy with very promising feedback. Pcars2 feels (physics/ffb) like AC, you can feel the car on the track and it sounds much much better. Now we're talking. And the interior in VR looks also amazing. Then it's easy to forget the exterior when you're inside the car (agree @F1Racer68 :) ?)

Just a side note: it feels so authentic (in comparison to what?) I think 99,99999% of us do not know how authentic this GTO feels in real life. BUt we're very forgiving and we know what he means. If it is really AC 'feel' added by all the other features/stuff weve already seen then this is the new defacto race sim (at least for me)

SEVEN days. Just SEVEN days.

PS And what do we racer have with trees? ALso in GT SPort topic multiple pages about trees and now he also mentioned them. Nature enthusiasts ;)
There was maybe a 50+ pages (maybe much more??) thread during pCARS 1 WMD development about only trees. LOL

EDIT: 121 pages!!!! 1204 messages. WMD takes those trees seriously :)

Possibly, but people should also consider that having day 1 reviews, coupled with the first up-to-date videos at that time is a huge deal for gaming sites and developers, publishers have very good reasons to cater to them, since they are part of the marketing of games essentially. Taking the wind out of their sails by producing professional pre-release videos, showcasing every part of the game in great detail could sour some of their relationships.

Except I have answered that EXACT issue even before you brought it up! Here:

Like such video of 2-3 min., same for both consoles, would be so hard to make?

And it would help!

And it would not steal any thunder or views from those journalists that have "day 1 exclusive", it would only increase visibility of game and increase potential clicks for those journos.

And so much more, without taking away ANYTHING from day 1 rewievs.

Add on TOP of that something you might be conveniently forgetting what would be even greater privilege for all included "gaming sites" - better then D1 review would be - PRE-release review.
But REGARDLESS of pre-D1 or on-D1: Fact is that tiny, controlled, official video would only increase interest in those D1 reviews!

And then this leads us to general cancer of gaming "journalism" - I'm not bashing any dev here, its about journalists! They wanna please devs and publishers for protecting their privileges - as blatantly stated below:
It isn't or he'd be removed from any future builds or Bandai Namco products for breaking the embargo which is set to the 18th.

Let me put this simply. The decision about this was made probably months ago. It won't change now, just 8 days before release. Wait 8 days, you will get all the videos you want. Want publishers and platform holders to change their stance on this for other titles? Email them. Let your voice be heard man, but doing so here achieves nothing, squat, nada, no matter how right you think you are. At least start a new thread where arguing pre-release policies would be on-topic. Soon this thread will be filled with videos from all platforms anyway.

How many more posts are going to be dedicated to rallying against what's pretty common in the industry simply because you don't like it? Especially when it's in a half-dozen different threads. These are starting to feel copy/pasted at this point.

Embargos that end before a game releases are a good thing. It means outlets aren't rushing to put out some half-assed review just to have the article equivalent of those annoying "first!" posts in comments sections. It evens the playing field, especially when you consider print media — and the consequences of breaking them are justified. If a company asks you to not share certain info until a certain time, and you do anyway, why should you be privy to future info from that same company?

Really? You know big simulator like this needs TIME. But with SMS demanding reviewers start only after they download D1P means ONLY that they will start total rat race againt each other.

Rushed reviews will get views first, better ones after first hype cools down... and so on.

And you are here riding on my back, not at least equally on those who continue to mock this issue, avoid, spin, damage control...?

Damage controling is even worst then anything else, it tries to block pressure on bussines entities to take consumers RIHTS to be informed ahead of "lets ripp them for pre-orders aka NMS" practices.

And if you really read my posts you know what i really ask for?! Just 2-3 min.official on console material produced by devs, under their TOTAL CONTROL! All the rest is after that question, for me.

I think you missed the post by Ian where he said "the embargo ends on the 18th", the game releases on the 22nd. Just wait 4 days and see if anything console related is released.

Ok, thank you! But will they be able to get D1P witch is set as pre-requisite?

They will, it´s in this forum somewhere - maybe by Ian himself - that they sent out D1P to reviewers already. It´s a non issue for anyone covering games or working in the media. Gamers already know how the pre release of a game usually works, so i don´t know why you´re making such a big case about this.

Reviews are not going to be crippled or rushed because of the D1P, it´s only day one for us players, everyone reviewing it is probably already playing final code.

Oh, i must have missunderstood @HardRock when he was explaining how there is no way for them to get D1P before day one. So, he didn't say that, I just misunderstood... and he totally misunderstood in what way was he being understood :D cool

The problem with SMS producing the video you are asking for is, there are people who will immediately decry the footage as "fake, doctored, artificially enhanced" and all manner of other crap, to try and justify their personal dislike of a game they haven't played yet. For SMS it's a case of heads they lose, tails they lose.

This exactly is also the charm of the WMD community and I absolutely love it. You see dozens of people from WMD2 posting PCARS2 videos from all sorts of hardware ranges. Some of the videos in ultra PC settings with VR from the expert drifters look absolutely brilliant. Another player named Joe Schmoe who only has a low end PC with low detail graphics and plays it stubling with a controller in chase cam looks a bit dull and awkward. Guess what, that is all what WMD is about! It is reality, it is what gameplay videos in the end will look like!

Turn 10 on the other hand is 100% controlling what exactly is released for the public. It's only the hardware THEY choose, the cars THEY choose, the circuits THEY choose to show the game only from it's most positive aspects. If you have that same Joe Schmoe play FM7 on a low end PC with the car of his choice on the track of his choice with the weather conditions of his choice then the game will look a lot different as well.

The simple fact is that Turn 10 is only showing the best of the best of their game in a very controlled environment while SMS allows WMD to show what PCARS 2 looks like on real life systems.

This is what Forza 6 is in reality, it couldn't be any more different from all the nice and cool promotion Turn 10 does for the game:

EDIT: not sure I believe those rock-solid 60fps at the beginning, but anyway...

So wait a second here..... let me make sure I understand this.....

A 3rd party reviewer with no known affiliation to SMS or Bandai Namco does a side-by-side comparison with FPS analysis showing that the game does in fact give you exactly what has been claimed, and you don't believe it??? When did this site turn into foil hat central?? Why is it so hard to believe that someone actually delivered what they promised?

Dude... calm down.

It's just that usually there are fluctuations, even if very slight. In that video the line is flat at 60fps the whole time, on both versions, no matter the number of cars, what's happening or the conditions. It's weird, that's all.

For example, like this:

I think it's great that we can maintain pretty much a solid 60 in the rain. Also remember that those little dips around the start to 54 or whatever have no effect on our physics which continue to run decoupled and bridged at 600 hz.

How did you manage to make it run much better in the rain compared to pCARS 1? If you can, maybe a little technical detail would be great. Thanks

About 80% of the rendering code was rewritten. We hand optimised the hell out of every area of code - AI, Physics, Audio, Rendering, Gameplay. With Livetrack and all 3d trees etc we're running about half a million more primitives than PC1, yet faster. So yes, the occasional drop now and again but mostly a steady 60 all the way.

You must be mad, slightly mad even

XBox version. Some side thougts on KERS in particular car (tried 2 different cars), but more importantly comments on brakes feel with controller, grip on road cars, and AI:

All due respect to the maker of the video, he's going faster than a GT500 car at the end of the straight, in a street car, and trying to use the same braking point as the full out race car, and then guffawing about he wasn't braking late while running off the road.

"The lack of aero feel and brakes in my non-race car is the pad's fault."
