I don't need a map to master the corners on that track by the second lap i already have them master.
Right, we all know the track. But to see if the game has counted your current achievement, it's shown here, whether you're a master or not. That's where you can see the achievement translate into the XP jump.

I must admit that the more I play the more I appreciate the handling model on my pad. I know it's assisted in some ways and cars are rather drift happy, but when I try to make really clean good lines all these things don't matter. In any case this is the only way for me to appreciate those amazing UK tracks for now.

It’s certainly a fun title and nicely accessible on a Gamepad.

In handling, GT3 cars in Nurburgring GP are great, really similar to ACC and GTS in handling, driving references, car reactions, etc I was quite surprised.

Snetterton and Silverstone with GT3 cars in PCARS3 are a gorgeous experience too, I have to try at Outlon Park.

I like a lot driving clean in PCARS3, it's very rewarding with a wheel too.

I'm a little confused on driver level. When I look at my profile, it says (just an example) 20,000XP/23,0000XP and to the right of that is a big 1. I assume that's my driver level, but apparently not. It's a moving target. Looking at those theoretical numbers, let's say I hit 23,000XP....then it says, maybe, 35,000. But the number to the right stays at 1. I'm having a lot of fun with the game, I'm just confused

Edit - ok, so someone just told me there are 10 mini levels per driver level. I'm only 2 away, so I'm gonna be up later than I wanted:boggled:

After playing this on and off since Friday I’ve had good and bad moments playing this. And realising the good and bad don’t balance up I took the game back and got a refund. Considering I’ve got PC2 and PC3 is just 90% recycled content with graphics that look worse then it’s predecessor I felt bad for paying $80 for this. I tried to like it and it’s not without its charms especially how good it is with a controller but it’s not worth $80. Graphics aren’t everything but when you’re racing on Laguna Seca in the rain and it looks like a PS2 game you know something’s not right. I’m not spending that kind of money on a 2020 game that looks like that. It’s not cool. My hope is they can optimise their graphics down the line and I might pick it up on sale.

What you did I think is the only way to make SMS understand how poorly finished they released PC3, and is the only way which could actually trigger some good reactions from their side.
We can spend days in complaining on forums, but is only when we touch them on money, that they start hearing us.

After trying the race multiple times with multiple rewards, I think I can explain the variance; the XP counter takes into account XP milestones you may have hit during the race. You may notice sometimes the figure increases drastically even though you didn't do anything on track so you may have unlocked the "master x number of corners" milestone in one of the races, for example. It might also be something to do with vehicle level.
It must be a bug. I got 150k jump on lap 4! How many milestones would require such an amount of xp? And why only on Indianapolis and not all the other locations? Vehicle level also doesn't matter. I'm getting similar xp with my lv99 Fusion and my brand new FXX K.

In my case I prefer playing games before, even with some bugs or optimization problems, than having to wait 3 or more months.

Well, I had such an appetite for a new racing game that I could not hold off either.
Especially with ACC being launched so poorly on consoles this summer.

But generally speaking what notsofast did is the "correct" way to protect our rights as consumers, and to have the publishers take more care about proper launch titles.

Many bugs only get discovered after game release though... There's a big difference in testing before release, which is done by a limited amount of people, and thousands of people playing it after release.
Not an excuse but a plausible explanation.
No number of refunded games will alter that, on the contrary, it might cut the budget of support...

Not saying having the game refunded is a bad thing, that's something everyone has to decide on his own... But the reasons above won't change anything IMHO

Are we talking about bugs, or about the graphical issues (which is the reason explained by notsofast for the refund)?
Because the second do not need thousands of people playing the game, to be noticed.

One advantage of low player count is that you can end up in the same lobby as a streamer. Was surprised to see Kie25 out there!

I was in the front for the most part of the race but my nerves got the better of me. I began to drive so much worse in the last laps it was almost like the tire wear was there after all! ;)

Depends what graphical issues you're referencing. E.g. actual bugs versus the game just not looking how you want it to. Actual graphical bugs being something that can slip very easily through the net. Whereas a game not looking as good as you want isn't specifically a bug.

Unity is a good example, widely publicised for being graphically glitch and awful. I played that entire game and never hit a bug or glitch. Its entirely possible.

Did you actually read the post from notsofast?
The reply to your question is there.

I was actually referring to the "we should all do this so they won't release games like that anymore"
And you agreeing on that...

Allthough i see why people would think that, i don't agree it would change anything for the reasons i mentioned.

opinions have been so mixed, people are either loving or hating this game. I have to say I've been having a lot of fun with it, and it's a nice change of pace from ACC/F1 2020/GT Sport.

I had a great clean battle in an online scheduled race, the guy was right on my tail, and he eventually found a way past. I ended up losing by the slightest of margins :gtpflag:

What’s today’s daily deal? Already broke from the P1 into Chiron into GT One into Jesko deals, so I hope it’s something cheaper now :boggled:

Why you say that?

In almost every goods, sales are affecting the planning and development of future items (or future versions of the same item).
To the point that if sales are bad enough, the future does not happen.

So that's not forcing them to make a better game next time but forcing them to go out of business...

My biggest worry is the fact that sms target audience with the forza and gt crowd and yet they released a game in this state.

If there's one thing the audience of gt and forza care about is graphics and if sms really thought they would take that audience away from those games with this mess then they really have gone mad.

If you take pcars 3 and put it side by side with gts and forza 7 or horizon 4 and ask the target audience to pick one or two of the 3 games i don't think it takes a genius to see the outcome.

Makes me sad to say this since i love the pcars series so much.

It is not forcing anyone to do anything.

Are the simple rules of a competitive market.

It applies to every goods.
As much as I could care for SMS (and I honestly do, because their games have always had the "touch" I like), I don't see why games should be exempted.

Indeed. Its a shame that the game was released as it is. I am glad that I ignored all the reviews and tried it for myself. I was hoping to find something that would help fill the void til GT7 and FM8 drop. Back to ACC and Forza 7 I go.

Games are pretty much rubbish nowadays on release, im not buying them anymore when they come out...If everyone started doing this it should make them think oh my god, we have to finish and polish it before release...

I'd like to think that could happen but given studios are under so much pressure from their stakeholders and the fans to release on time that it makes it very hard. Takes a brave person to make the decision to push back a release date in this day and age. Personally I'm not phased if it leads to a more polished day one product. But communication is key. Don't leave people in the dark. Tell them why its being pushed back and why its important to delay release date. That goes a long way.

As a long time Forza player I don't expect the game to be as good looking as FM7 or FH4 given that SMS is a smaller studio presumably with less staff and resources but the graphics are very disappointing. From a Forza point of view FM5 is what seven years old? And it looks better. Night and day. Its not that graphics aren't cutting edge which is fine but there comes a point where you play the game and are thinking 'how can this look so bad as a 2020 game'. Especially when the game is full price.

Its disappointing as the game does have its good points.
