Yeah the discord thing is just something he does once in a while to chat with fans. Not everyone's cup of tea for sure, but a lot are on there. Particularly the younger generation. I just have it to check up on a couple of my favorite games.

@GOTMAXPOWER I'm sure I read about Formula E. Just heading to work now but when I get a sec I'll check and see if I can find it
I hope you're right, I've been waiting 6 years! Even if it isn't the IndyCar content is enough for me to buy.

Yeah, I'm a little unsure about the AI, but the game is pretty. Maybe not a popular opinion, but I really enjoy the mix of cars in that video.
If you bump up the settings to maximum I expect the AI will react like that. Most people jump in and do that. They can be a little aggressive in PC2.
The mix of cars, I'm OK with it as long as it's mainly in a quick race. Hopefully there'll be a more structured approach to the classes in a career. And the sandbox.

Well, that video didn't clear a lot up. Other than its pretty easy to play with a controller. It was in Serbian. He did say the markers can be turned off though, so I'm happy to hear that. @Sam714 I only started this the other day, it's not exactly the first place people go. I'm just a guy, not staff or a mod or anything. Just wanted a place to actually discuss the game with those who think they might enjoy it.

Anyway, looks like we'll be getting info coming down the pipe fairly steadily now

I like that there are more fictional spec cars and some of them do look really good but car classing looks like a mess.

I'm sure this is something that can be resolved post-launch. Perhaps not in career mode, but some more additional filters would be welcome in the sandbox mode.

Personally, I'm unfazed by the class mixing. If anything, I'm a little intrigued to see how different cars stack up against each other once they are performance-matched.

It could be a bug as well, from all the footage I've seen it is always the 60s Escort and Mustang running around with the GT3s too but cars like Mercedes 300 SEL AMG 6.3 "Red Pig" which are in a similar class not seen in any footage.

I'll wait and see how it goes it move closer to launch.

It does look a little chaotic. But let's not jump to conclusions since it's not the full game they are playing and we also don't know all of the available options. The chaos still looks quite fun though.

The track list also shows Wildcrest - which is a rallycross track! So I'd think neither list is fully complete. Especially since it seems to be missing a few from PC2.

I am becoming more and more hyped as more information starts to become available about PC3, and I rarely get hyped these days. I love PC2 and I love Driveclub, what PC3 seems to be is a mix of both, PC2's amazing driving feel (cockpit cam) with Driveclub like menus and progression, sprinkled with CarPG elements from Forza.

A mainly play PC2 by setting up custom race weekends against AI, without pitstops, so I can't say I'll miss those, although I will miss leaving the pits with cold tires and nursing the car around the track until they warm up. But PC2 is not going anywhere so I can always go back to that if I want pitstops.

Any way, can't wait to get this game.

Yeah I was on board and defending this game. Although, in the back of my mind I had some worries. But I think this game is going to be exactly what I want. I was honestly thinking of getting an Xbox just for Forza motorsport. But I tried it and I was just a bit irritated by it. The last one I had played a lot of was FM4,and I loved it. I think this game is going to be what I want.

To you guys that like the GT3,4, etc races - do you do that against the AI or online? Maybe this is a silly question (I don't care for same car type racing generally) but if it's online, would it matter what the career mode has? Not trying to be argumentative I am just curious

I don't mind them being chaotic like the SHIFT 2 works class where every car has a ridiculous looking wide body but the 60s Escort just looks so tiny going against the other cars.

I don't think RX will get cut but the list don't seem to list any other RX cars except the RX lite.

For me I just find it looks odd and it takes the immersion out of it. I like ficitional spec cars but I'm not a fan when it just looks "off".

@TOMMY3688 so it just breaks the realism then? I get that. I'm just picturing racing with buddies on a Friday night and someone in a tiny little car irritating all the big boys by passing them in the corners.

For me its both.

The Corvette video, regardless it looked so bad with all that motion blur set my hopes up regarding drifting. Let's see whether or not we can finally have a sim were drifting is something as natural and "easy" as it is and you do in real life, with all that artificial difficulty built into sliding in most "sims" finally gone.
PCARS3 wouldn't be the first on this, but you are correct about it being more difficult than real life in many sims. :)

What doesn't hype me up that much is that it looks we will have to drift around tracks rather than on countryside roads. Road cars and drifting while racing..., it really needs to be done with Driveclub/Gotham vibes outside tracks, and looks like there won't be many of these in pc3
I'm intrigued by this "Monument Canyon" in the incomplete track list.

Thank you for that!! Rallycross was the first thing I checked for, and Wildcrest had slipped my mind because it's the RX track I drive the least (I don't dislike it, I just don't end up there).

If the rallycross content is intact, I am 100% in.

Actually I think Wildcrest is my favourite. :)

Maybe one car on the one track then. :P

Consider my hype level at 100% :D
Oh yes. I see what's on the car list now. Remember it's not quite official yet though. ;)

While I don't mind "Run what you've brung" racing occasionally I'd prefer a class to contain the same type of cars. For immersion really and knowing that they all should be competitive. It just needs more classes to enable this.

Mostly on realism but it won't look nice if I happen to take screenshot in the photo mode. Like having 2 GT3 side by side and somehow in front has a weird looking Nascar or Escort near by to ruin the shot. If they somehow made the Escort when it reach GT3 level it has weird looking but still realistic looking aerodynamics like those on time attack cars, I'll probably be fine by it. It just looks really weird for me to see a classic car is its classic trim is capable to keep up to modern GT cars.

In reality, no amount of modification is likely to make an Escort capable of keeping up with a GT3 car.

Mixed class mandatory races guess ii's just SP only. In MP sure there will be an option to lock class. Project Cars is the king of race and overall options customization.

The countryside one is new too. It ain't Bannoch. I feel these two will be the only new ones along with the classic three California and the other. Rest DLC meat guaranteed.

I think they said rallycross content got cut. That's why the track list has diminished, plus what other said about Karts and their tracks gone too.

To my knowledge, we only inferred that possibility from a tweet exchange between the PCARS account and Codemasters. It seems we were wrong. 👍

Given the way this game's marketing has gone, there's little point wondering why we haven't seen any rallycross action yet if RX is included, right? We'll just have to wait.

I think for me the only thing I really want is a livery editor. Doesn't look like it'll happen and it's not a dealbreaker of any sort for me. What's there is enough to keep it interesting. I wonder if we can move the decals around?

There is a range of fixed positions where you can place decals, but I doubt you can make further adjustments once they are placed.

GT3 cars are built to a spec so if you could take an Escort and do a bit, OK a lot, of re-engineering you could in theory create a GT3 like car out of it. But in reality you're right, probably not*. But that's the beauty of games, in our un-reality things like this are possible. However not to everyone's liking of course. I'm undecided whether to embrace it or not, I'm warming to the idea though. :)

*There are some really rapid Mk1s, especially time attack and hill climb versions. Too late to buy this one.

Well it still looks stupid to see "stock-looking" Escort fighting against GT3s....

I've taken the time to watch the two Chris Haye videos now. I'll have to remember his channel -- he and I are really on the same page, and he's a real good host too. I think he's nailed it with PCARS3, and finally getting to see things that SMS have gone out of their way to keep to themselves is refreshing and reassuring. The hype finally begins. :)

The UI is slick -- I like the animated performance index scale for previewing upgrades. The visual customization is more than adequate, with what looks like a healthy amount of livery patterns as well as options above and beyond most titles. The career mode has turned out to be more traditional than I gathered from SMS's off-putting description of it before, which is great. I wish we could optionally scale the races longer, though, particularly with how accelerated dynamic weather will be.

Chris' commentary on the driving experience supports my assumptions. I can't wait to see how refined it may be -- not only in the core physics, but across the car list given PCARS2's occasionally glaring inconsistencies. Smoothing over the cars I personally blacklisted in PCARS2 is effectively as good as adding new cars.
