Well... I like the game and will buy the PS4 version just to support Kunos but honestly, it looks outdaited. Mainly the surroundings and especially the foliage. I had hoped that they would increase the quality in these areas with the fixed optimisation for the consles but that was obviously too optimistic.

That FXX K sure sounds great, though. Lets hope they at least improved the mega cumbersome online GUI.

Well it was logical that the versions of console are graphically downgraded..
Most important part in my opinion is port perfectly the driving physics that makes the game so great.

It's also a prealpha version of the game for the press and media.. Soooo, let's see on the final release what it's really looks like.

In the second video they mentioned that on ps4 the game runs on 1080p and 60fps
And the Xbox One at 900p and 60fps.

As long Assetto Corsa don't have Land mines , invisibly walls ,bricks, crash to the main screen ,grinding of steering wheel (patch 8.0 still there ) but have a good online game I'm already happy .
Hope that the AI is also good

That the game is a bit outdated regards looks I don't care so much if so .

A beautifully good looking new car doesn't mean it has a good engine in it .

let it come yeeeeeeeeeeeeeees .

Which game had those things?

No, on account of I never saw those in Project Cars and didn't play Assetto Corsa long enough to see any of those issues if they're in there
Than it must be my imagination for Project cars 1 on PS4 .
Damn ...... I was for 99.9 % sure it was and still is on PS4 .

I'm talking about Project Cars 1 on PC. That's been pretty solid in my experience. There have been a few bugs/glitches, almost all of them minor that don't impact gameplay at all.

I know ...... the PC are the lucky ones , sadly it is not the same for PS4 .
But as you already know a new change is coming are way , lets hope for the better or the worst ...... you never know before you try it .

Why not both?? Project Cars looks to be a better racing game, but AC has some awesome cars that Project Cars doesn't and the physics look equally as good.

We're spoilt for choice this year (on the PS4): by August we'll have Project Cars, Assetto Corsa, Sebastien Loeb Rally Evo (although this will go to make room for the next one), Dirt Rally AND possibly some news about Gran Turismo sport

AC has awesome physics, tracks and cars, but PCARS has a better racing experience with the dynamic weather and time. It's fun to run laps within 0.1s of each other all the time, but the tyre management and changing driving styles required for changing conditions is way more exciting.

The Physics of AC are better than Pcars. This is best noticed when you have simvibe or a motion system. The AC tracks give better feedback that the PCARS ones.

However, for me, PCARS gives me a better single player race experience. Big starting grids, changing weather conditions and awesome graphics.

For hotlapping i prefer Assetto Corsa. The AC version of the Ring is so much better than the PCARS one...

Project Cars is still providing me exhilirating racing, like this i recorded yesterday - the final few laps at Zolder in a LMP2 on 85% AI. This is what its all about, pushing every lap,and having an epic battle with the AI.

Its in these moments im wondering about purchasing AC and what extra it can bring me over Pcars...?

I concur, same thing here as far as PC goes.
I had (almost) no bugs on PS4 but I had ZERO bugs on PC.
Together good for some 750 hrs driving time.
Ok, i had the occasional AI that did not pit and thus won the race, I had FFB loss one time, but I don't know that could classify as bug...

As for AC: I had the game crash three times in about 25 hrs, I have weird graphics when entering track (lower half of the three screens plain white, sky above it, and flying in the sky a strip with crash barriers, trees and more. And it is not once, it is each and every time on some tracks. How is that for a bug ?
Pic will follow later...

Funny that. I've had enough problems with ProCars on PS4 to make me almost regret buying it in the first place.

As for Assetto Corso - the only time I've had a problem with that is when they went to 64 Bit. My game stopped working. That was fixed by the next patch. Otherwise no issues. Especially not of the kind you've had.

That's quite strange as the "No two machines are the same" PC should be terrible for software whereas the "none moving goalpost" Console should be considerably more reliable.

Never had any issues with Assetto Corsa.

Pcars is whole different story though. The game still crashes randomly when loading. Sometimes when loading the main menu, mostly when loading a single player race. If i want to reassign controler buttons in the settings menu, it's a garanteed crash.

The funny thing is that PCARS2 beta also crashes randomly when loading.

Pcars is the only game that gives me problems.

What platform are you on?

Nothing IMO.
It is a bit better in a few regions than PCars (triple screen support and view save options per car), but for me it is (was) a big dissappointment.
I requested a Steam refund. If I don't get it (because I had it for too long) I will probably remove it from my PC anyway. The few good points are no match for the bad ones...
I still have other sims that are way better than AC.

Less bugs, better physics, better mechanical damage, 99% of al tracks laserscaned, more Street cars (alfa,Ferrari, Lamborghini...)
Up to 24 online player’s...

Assetto Corsa is a really good driving simulator, Pcars is more likely racing simulator.. Having both games is equal to lot's of fun ;)

And if you like Rally don't forget that Dirt Rally comes to the consols the 5th April :cheers:

Did the AC team scrap almost finished announced dlc content, too ?
What?

AC's strengths are it's FFB and how it translates into car control and the visceral feeling of car control. The FFB is very easy to tune as well. There are only 3 sliders for road, kerbs and oversteer. Most of the tracks are laser scanned with pinpoint accuracy and combined with the highly detailed FFB it makes for a driving experience like no other. The one modern circuit that is not laser scanned is Zandvoort, but if you didn't know it wasn't laser scanned you'd swear it was because the track is very rough and you feel every dip and bump. PCars will likely have a better career mode, it has day/night and weather too and the tracks have more atmosphere. Games are relatively cheap these days and for me it's worth it to spend the money just to try things out. I've tried iRacing, Game Stock Car, AC and PCars and the one I keep coming back to more than the others is AC and it's purely for the joy of the driving experience. I do race online, not much offline and do lots of hotlapping.

Dat mirror resolution of the Shelby in the menu background
Mirror resolution is scalable.

When you talk about FFB,that is not a factor that would be priority in a racing game for me hehe. The dynamic weather appeals to me much more. But yeah, il probably play both - im really intrigued how AC plays, and as people say,it might be just worth it as a hot-lapper. But id really like to know what the races are like against the AI. If it had a customisable championship option - that would be a major draw over Pcars. The Ferrari's it has already is a big plus for me.

I think the AC tracks will feel a bit 'dead' to me without the dynamic weather - thats a big draw for in Pcars - the tracks feel more alive, and the lighting is always different every race. I had one that went from a thunderstorm to sun the other day - brilliant seeing the puddles gleaming in the sun!

But as i said,im very keen to try AC out after hearing all the comment about realism.

Here's a gameplay of assetto on PS4 that shows the AI

Gamplay on PS4 in McLaren

And here's a video of a race with the AI at 100% (PC version)

Nice upload. AC is looking pretty solid on PS4, better than pCARS in some ways, such as the textures and detail on trackside terrain, the car models and especially the fact that there appears to be no LOD pop ups on any of the cars at any distance either in race or during the replays, which is great to see.
Obviously the lack of time and weather cycles means they can focus on performance elsewhere, but as it stands it's looking pretty good.
