Me too 24h runs all day :) 👍

Can't wait to get in some GTs round there, then Historic Touring, soooooooo many great cars in this game, Spoilt for choice really.

Just curious, can we do all of these tracks in reverse layouts? There have been so many times I wanted to go the wrong way round some circuits but can't.

I think reversed circuits are a thing that could be an option, but should never be forced upon the player as part of the career mode. I frequently enjoy fictional circuits in reverse, but I hate having to drive real world circuits in reverse, especially if it's one I'm still trying to learn (looking at you, Grid Autosport).

Is licensing a reason for this or could it be the developers trying to make the game as realistic as possible?

It generally comes down to licensing, and the style of gameplay. With a realistic sim, the discussion between the devs and the license holders went the way of avoiding traveling backwards along the tracks.

Was watching some California highway videos, are there multiple paths you can drive on in 1 track? One video showed the guy off track (on the minimap) and he sort of drove and blended into another portion of the track

Yes, Azure Coast also has this. I guess the reason for this is World of Speed which also seems to have these tracks. I don't know if it will stay like this in Project CARS since the AI doesn't take the "shortcuts" unlike WOS's AI.

On a similar note, I was watching a video on a track with multiple layouts, and apparently you can drive around on the unused surfaces and some of the access roads? That would be a benefit for the popular "cruise" style of multiplayer lobby.
that would be awesome

Well, it looks like the alternative routes will be removed in Project CARS. It would have been fun while cruising, but it wouldn't make sense while racing.

Really? Unless they needed to conserve memory, that seems unnecessary.

The alternative routes were actually shortcuts, doesn't make sense in a racing sim (and like I said before, the AI aren't programmed to take these shortcuts, it would be an easy win for us when racing against AI).

Well, I was actually talking about the unused parts of a multi-layout racetrack. I wasn't going to link the video because the guy is playing that leaked/cracked build, but on Sonoma Raceway he went off-course at corner #4 and wandered onto the NASCAR version of the track before rejoining the circuit at corner #7.

I'm not asking for shortcuts; I would simply like to see as few invisible walls or arbitrary barriers as possible. The freedom to wander the grounds of a motorsports complex like Sonoma would make for good drifting sessions, for example. It isn't difficult to detect when the player skips a whole chunk of the circuit, so the game could invalidate any lap performed that way.

I see you are new here, welcome to GTPlanet:cheers:

A couple of tips for you. First, proper grammar, capitals, periods, no textspeak etc. are expected when posting. Second, double posting is frowned upon so try and use the "edit" button if you would like to add something to a thread and you are the last poster. An exception can be made if a day or two or more has passed. Third, in first post it looks like you're asking someone to "have a word" but you didn't say who the post was directed to. You can send someone a notice telling them you are talking to them by using the "@" symbol in front of their name like this: @the mightyd, or by simply using the "reply" button as I did in this post, and quoting a member's post when you want to respond to something someone said directly.

Please enjoy your stay here:tup:👍

Courtesy of a recent screenshot, here's a comparison between Sakitto and Suzuka by way of Google Maps. It's a shame the circuit had to be altered:

Just jumped in to this thread, so havn't read all the info.

Has anyone done a youtube clip of all the available graphics/game settings that are available, including HUD options etc?

Getting this on XB1 but would like to see what other options are available on the current pc build.

Any link/videos showing such detail would be great.

The op track list includes Cadwell Park, but I can't find it on the PCars website.

Is Cadwell Park definitely in the game? I really do hope so as it's my local track and should be an awesome drive.

If you compare the list in the op and the tracks on the website, you may realize that there are several tracks still missing from the latter. This might be the case because of marketing reasons, but even if it was, I couldnt tell you of course. ;)

I dont have access to the game, but I have seen Youtube videos that have shown footage from Cadwell Park. ;)

And as if by magic, here's one uploaded today!

@Wolfe I really hope they havent taken out the hairpin, thats such an important part of the circuit for overtaking. :(

Personally, I'd like to see some of the Aussie V8 tracks get added at some point, especially Philip Island. I wouldnt imagine licensing would be such a big or expensive issue for those tracks either as they are surely a bit more "niche" than say F1 circuits (current or past)?

Im happiest to see Donnington and Oulton Park in there myself as I havent had the chance to drive on those since the days of TOCA! lol
