Ehm, a little bit off-topic but - granted that ProjectCARS is still buggy- you could take a look here:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/the-bugs-glitches-thread-new-op.291414/

I read the link. But just so you know I don't believe PD ever fixed the following:
1 mid engine car handling
2 camber
3 front to back physics being reversed.
4 engine sounds
5 car classifications (esp racing car classes)
6 racing rules/penalty
There are plenty more problems with GT6 as well.
Not to mention broken promises/undelivered features.

I never ignored those and other issues that ruined GT6 for me.
That why I pre-ordered Pcars PS4 & PC. And I'm not sorry I did.

It's a hard call. Especially if you enjoy racing against and with a group of friends.
Plus are you able to buy new racing equipment right now?
I knew I wanted Pcars long ago. I also knew I wanted to experience sim on a PC again after really loving GTR and RFactor. So I put away the $$ and pulled the trigger on previous order.

I can still hangout with friends on PS3 and make new ones on PS4 and maybe PC.

When you select a car to race in a lobby/room in GT6 that car keeps the same livery and tuning parameters when you take it to the track. Same with your selected interior view.
I very much like project cars, but GT6 beats the brakes off it in terms of UI (user interface)
and basic menu function and object selection.

Plus you can select more than one car during a practice session.

There are many others. GT had them and has been around long enough to have fixed them.
I have faith that project car's will do the same. Pcars even in its current state is twice the pure racing sim that GT6 will ever be.

But right now GT is a polished product when compared to Pcars. That needs to change and its not even funny.   I'm betting the SMS developers get it done prior to release of Project Cars 2.
You forgot how much better Online options gt6 has...

Not entirely. This thread has been a huge help, as long as it doesn't turn into a place for GT6 fan boys to dump on Project Cars. I will be buying Project Cars, no matter what is said here, that is for sure.

Things important to me:
1. Ability to play most of the best racing games (PCars, AC, Drive Club, GT6, Forza) - PS. I hated iRacing, so that's not on the consideration list.
2. Connection with friends and online racing

Budget is not an issue. I was not able to attend a couple of my SCCA events this summer so I am counting that tire/fuel/travel/food savings as racing budget to put toward the new wheel and system. I can kinda buy what I want. I am currently leaning PS4 and the Clubsport V2 wheel/pedals. I have purchased every version of Gran Turismo so spending $65 on the next title is no big deal. I'd have to try it and would have many friends who will also be buying that game.

There is only one reason for me to buy an Xbox and switch over to Forza and that is the desire for this limited edition...
http://www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/forza-xbox-one-bundle/ I work for Ford's advertising agency so the connection to the new Ford GT is appealing.

If you got the cash then the ClubSport Wheelbase is definitely the way to go, as it's compatible with PC, PS4, & XB1 (with the right rims). That's what I'd get if I were loaded!

👍

We share a lot of the same reasoning. I never professionally drove cars, but I came up around stock car and dirt track drivers who visited my uncles body and general repair shop in North Carolina.

I worked there during the summers from age 9 to 18 so my parents could get me out of New York city. That's where I fell in love with cars.

Not to mention my cousins who were into working on and dragging anything with a Ford emblem on the hood, and a 302 or 429 under it. They hated all things Chevy. I just loved anything that was hot.
Like the Dodge Super Bee and the Plymouth Cuda and the Stingray.

My Cousin Eddie's Torino Cobra Jet 428 4 barrel Holley with Hurst four speed was the first thing I actually smoked tires in. I was eleven. :)

I would not mind having the Club Sport combo. I am still going to wait until I have the feeling all is clear on the PC and PS4 compatibility fronts. I wont have anything to do with Logitech ever again.
Although I will use my G27 if it's ever sorted out between Windows 10 and PS4.

And that new Ford GT is just a beautiful piece of machinery. Looks as good as any marquee Euro super car I've seen. In fact......dare I say better.👍

The options are better in GT for sure, but the way things work in PCars is kind of how it works in most sims.
Not sure what you mean, but i consider no tune, reverse grid and success ballast as a must no matter what other sims have...

Are there any bundles for the moment ?
Not in EU when I ordered mine...
The site is OK though, at least I find it easy to use.

How well do you like yours? Is it all that I think it is? I gotta believe that with a more precise input that reaction time and smoothness would be easier, therefore, would produce faster laps?

I can't answer that yet. My set will be shipped end of August...
For now I'm still on T500RS.
Not sure the Fanatec setup will make me faster, but it will be very pretty to look at

How does the t300 compare to the fanatec wheels? I bought a t00 specifically for pCARS, at the time there was no fanatec support.

Yeah I get that GT has a more usable online set up, but remember how bad it was when the game first came out? After more than a year and a half, the most serious bugs in GT6 are still there, like all the dodgy set up bugs, which kills the realism in a big way. I'm sure that the bugs in Pcars will be fixed, but at least the core of the game works properly, which is the one thing PD seem to have completely ignored with GT6 lol.

That's exactly right, PD killed the realism in GT with shoddy physics and ignoring the cries of their gamers.
Which is exactly why I favor PCars now. Polyphony Digital killed the driving feel and setup adjustment and any realism GT had going for it. Gran Turismo was never really a sim. It did feature real weights and measures for each car.

That went away with the third update for GT6. The game is hollow now. Not even as good as GT4 which was the best of the series by most accounts. PCars has some work to do, but they clearly understand the heart and soul of racing.

Yep exactly right! GT6 was a buggy game with a broken core that largely relied on gimmicks to get headlines, whereas Pcars has a solid core and a great base to build upon. Both games were stupidly buggy at launch, but you can tell what an epic game lies beneath the bugs in Pcars, and that's the difference. The tuning is amazing in Pcars. I had forgotten how nice it is to use real world logic to tune cars in a game, after GT's trial and error tuning that never made any sense, and was often backwards to real life.

From my perspective I started out with a Logitech Driving Force wheel on GT4. Then when PS3 came out I upgraded to a G25 for GTPrologue & GT5 (didn't get GT6). When I heard that legacy Logitech wheels wouldn't be supported on PS4 I started looking into new wheel options. I was very interested in the Fanatec Wheelbase V2, but at the time (last October) there was no certainty that it would be supported by PCARS on PS4, so I decided to go for the Thrustmaster T300RS, but got the Basherboards CPX adapter so I could use the Fanatec CSR Elite pedals with it. I have to say that that combination was very satisfying with PCARS and a huge improvement over my old G25 set up.
When Fanatec lifted the invitation only requirement to purchase the Wheelbase V2, i couldn't resist the temptation & took the leap and bought it. It was a pricey upgrade as even without the pedals (I already had a set) it cost €1100 with shipping, but in my opinion was totally worth it. The wheel feels so much smoother than the T300RS and there is no forcefeedback fade whatsoever. The Fanatec feels like it has better build quality in my opinion & although the T300rs is a very good wheel I can't see me going back to it, in fact I'm know trying to decide whether to sell it or keep it as a spare.

@Spooky Wooky you might be interested in that, just saw your post after I posted.

Ok. Thanks for all of the advice. I have decided to get a PS4. Then I can immediately get Project Cars, Assetta Corsa and Drive Club.

As for the wheel, I want the best so I am leaning Club Sport.

Ok. So I changed my mind. I am getting the XBOX one with Forza Motorsports 6 in the special edition Ford GT graphics. I work down the hall from the guys who did the deal with Microsoft and I know that all of the coolest Ford cars will be in that game.

I also thought, why am I letting GT7 dictate my decision. We don't know when it is coming out. It could be a couple more years. So right now, in October when my Spec Miata racing season ends, I can play Forza 6, Project Cars, Assetta Corsa and Drive Club all on one console. I will likely open a tuning garage for each game.

Then, in a couple of years when GT7 comes out, I can check the forum reviews and decide then on the purchase of a PS4.

Drive Club is for PS4 only.
Whatever you choose enjoy 👍

I will really miss your tunes when GT7 comes out(2016-2020?). I knew I wanted Project Cars so this spring i closed my eyes and opened by bank account and bought a PS4. I had been running a logitech G27 for years and it was great with never a problem. I looked over the G29 and the Thrustmaster T300, and decided to go with the Thrustmaster. I couldn't be happier with the PS4 or the T300. FFB is far stronger and the responsiveness is better on the T300 than it ever was on the G27. There have been some problems with the T300 early editions. When mine went bad I returned it to the retailer (Fry's) and they replaced it with a newer release and it works great.

Well for me it was a no brainer. PC all the way.
I actually have 3 wheels that work on the PC. DFGT, Turbo S and CSR Elite. I am of course using the CSR Elite.

I could not see any reason to buy a PS4 as there are no other games on it I am interested in right now that can't be gotten on a different platform. I will be buying an XB1 and Forza 6 soon but hate the fact that it will not support the Forza wheel, not sure if I will even bother with a wheel for the XB1, Club sport V2 is way to pricey and am still miffed that they did not give us a route to use the CSR and CSR Elite wheels either an adpater or some offer to trade in our existing wheels toward the new CS wheels. I will be unlikely to buy anything else from Fanatec after this.

If GT7 has decent reviews, I will likely buy a PS4 and GT7. I think it would be cool to have Motor City Tunes - Forza Edition - Project Cars Edition - Gran Turismo 7 Edition.

Next step will be a PC (mainly because I want to go for triple screen setup and I do want a button box to control all functions while racing).
PC will give me the possibility to try out other sim racing titles too (heard a lot of good things about GSCE)...

Only downside for me: I ditched PC years ago in favor of Mac, a decision I never regretted.
Moving to PC (be it only for sim racing) is a tough step...:scared:
Since I can't use my old laptop (XP) any more for updating firmware of my new Fanatec stuff, I will need a new computer. Might as well buy a decent gaming PC that can fully handle PCars (and triples). Still trying to figure out the best specs.
Btw: I have allready a button box for PS4, that will also work on PC. Huge improvement over a keyboard !
