NK4E, was that a grip driving movie? hahaha.

I have spec C clips on my AWD Resurrection video.
The spec C and the blue STI i have handle very similarly. There is no real difference.

i'm not the greatest drifter but i can grip.....and some of your lines were off ....

it acctually looks like you were not giving it all the way on some turns.

Another victim of Memory Card Corruption, although not the worst loss ive seen

I had a 1024 blocks of mem on a gcn card, if you havent played alot thats a normal mem card X 30, i had at least 50 game saves with at least 40 of the games with 2 files, one for me and one for my brother.

again sorry for your loss

WELL< I HAVEN"T FORGOTTEN ABOUT JOO MY DEAR STI....just takin a break and watching real life Sti drifting.

Updates:August 09, 2006
After watching the replay over and over, and some Real life videos. It seems that you have to create a small" Misfire engine" and you have to use a massive E-Brake skill. But from watching this, Im not statisfy but the outcome on this. I will try again to mess with the settings and hopefully, I will post a video. 👍 👎

If you're not planning to put aids on, then my suggestion is to change your driving style instead of settings.

mm that's what i'd do.

try setting your brake settings to F18 R6
ASM and TCS off
Spring rate F12.2 R8.6 (something like that)
and lower the car to something reasonable
a good 300+hp car would be nice

the technique i use is pretty basic: feint, brake hard and turn in, floor it and do a power over. (you might get some pretty good drift, at least towards the end of the turn)

perhaps if you can get a copy of Best Motoring Drift Bible you might get a few ideas for your technique and car setup.

gl getting your drift going!

I agree. Power-over is the most efficient technique for AWD drifts.

This is a main use of E-Braking, I know I hit some walls. I couldn't get more angle...I think I E braked it too late.

because of my general distaste of using the e-brake i've finally found an adequate way of getting drift (*yes! drift from entry to exit!).

use the settings from my earlier post but change your tires. i recommend using **racings tires. super-hard(R1?) in the back, hard(R2?) in the front.

***SETTING YOUR LSD
front
initial: 10 accel: 15 deccel: 7
rear
initial: 24 accel: 34 deccel: 15
(this is how i set my lsd, feel free to experiment)

when approaching the corner, keep your speed up, brake hard on entry while turning in towards the apex and once you're about halfway hit the gas.

*Skyline GTR V-Spec II and WRX STi 22B was used
**if you enter a race you'll start getting understeer late in the race from the front tires losing traction.
***rear lsd settings work on FR cars too! ;-) (it's great to keep some things the same! this is how you learn about tuning your car for those who are beginning)

that was a Stock Sti...well not the white one.

i'll take a punt at it.. i've been setting up an sti for the last week or two.

i do use the e-brake though. for a proper, easily initiated awd drift, i feel that it's necessary.

Do you know what I am actually looking for?

Well, by well-balanced, I assume you're after a car that can drift easily, with poise and stability and a readiness to change direction without being unstable. That's how I interpret it anyway..

But by all means, please define what you're after. The better the definition, the more specific we can get with how it's tuned. :D

Or do you mean balanced as in able to maintain near-90°, tail-out, lots-of-countersteer drifts?

More like a drift-able with speed(less counter steer) and really well balance, maybe like a FR but a Skyline quality to it. The Sti has to be balanced and everything must be exact and contribute to that drift.

Ahh, so a drift with steering/counter-steering as little as possible for the duration of the drift. I think I understand the kind of setup you're going for. That's the way i like it too ;D

I'll post my setup tomorrow, give it a try. The sweet speed is 140km/h or 85 mph (87 to be axact).

I'm finding that I'm getting a touch too much driving-grip though. I've even dropped to N1's, but the car just doesn't seem to have the torque to keep the wheels spinning at lower speeds. There's a semi-sweet spot at around 70-80 km/h (43-50 mph), but you end up losing speed and the drift dies.

I usually test my drift setups on Deep Forest - normal, but Trial Mountain isn't bad.. Apricot Hill also has some good sections, and the chicane is always challenging.

i have an awesome sti setup but youy need lots of trottle control and is way aesy to loose control but alot easier probably to initiate the drift is very touchy EDIT: if you would like the setting for the spec -c drift setup pm me

Why can't you just post it?

The Ride Height and it seems that all the brakes is towards the front. I know I am picky about these things.

i use that set up on all my cars. the brakes break the rear traction so the drift initiates better, and the ride height enables you to hold it better. it is probably my drift style, plus some of the drifts have to be started with the hand brake because otherwise the car seems more like a grip racer, IMO that is balanced
