Proportion of cars in Gran Turismo 5

Well I would love to see as many different variaty of R35 (v-spec, nismo, mine's, amuse ...)

of course! if they can squeeze 800 cars into GT Psp, then GT5 might hav the potential to hold twice that many cars, alltho we will probably see closer to 1000....
the thing is more cars require more work. It's not like the psp version, gt5 cars are a lot more detailed

I definitely don't want 300 Skyline's such as the:
R34, R34 GT-R, R34 GT, R34 25 GT, R34 GT-T, R34 GT-X, R34 GT-V, R34 GT-FOUR, R34 GT-R V-Spec, R34 GT-R V-Spec II, R34 GT-R Z-Tune, R34 GT-R Nismo.

Start saving up those GBs. GT5 might have... who knows how much space it will take up?

I'm going to delete stuff from my PS3 just incase. Stuff I dont need or want like NFS Undercover save data (as i hate that game any way) and Midnight Club LA, plus some replay data from GT5 Prologue.

Don't freak out ;)
GT5:P is less than 2GB (without videos).

I hope some cars from older GT's will come back (Vector, Venturi and some others.. oh.. and Mazda RX-7 A-Spec, it was in GT1 and GT2).

Overall I think we will get ~900 cars on start.

AHH!! I've been trying to think of the name of that car!! The Vector M12!! Thank you so much!! I was going to post it in the Pictorial wish list thread but couldnt think of the name. I loved that car in GT2!!!

I think (and hope) the the game will have at least 800 cars.. and i hope that the ****** nascar won't take more than 20 same cars.

Well, if you do the math of 2GB for GT5:P 70 cars, and 10 tracks. That is 80 files. I would guess the tracks are bigger than the cars, but just for argument we will say they are equal. 2000MB/80 = 25MB per item. If that is right, that means approximately 2000 (25MB files) can fit on a 50GB disk.

450 from GT4 +150 brand spankin' new cars=600

OR 500 from GT4 + 100 brand new cars=600.

If we are talking 600+, 450 cars from GT4 + 200 brand new and unseen in any GT game=650.

Any opinions? Share them here!:sly:

PD mention they want all cars from Previews GT4 Game in GT5 aslo additional ones.. Later they want to have DLC

As for people that get pissed about having 1000000s of different GTR Skyline specs, go play other racing games, having only 2 or 3 Skylines gets boring quick. I love how PD includes diffrent versions for some good vararity, and possibly your version is in the game.

If GT5 ever tried to rival GT PSP in sheer numbers (800), I would predict:

550 from GT4 and 250 brand new cars or 500 and 300.

Having different variations is fine, but there were just too many in GT4 (I think there were around 50 Skylines). PD should include the best of each generation, from the original to the R34. They shouldn't waste their time adding pointless cars like the midnight purple one.

The GT-R, The GT-R V-Spec, and GT-R V-Spec II for generations R32 to R34 is fine for me. I get confused when they throw in Midnight Pearl Edition, Nur, M-Spec, etc.

Strangely enough, now that we have a cockpit view, some of these "clones" might actually be worth putting in.

Honestly, how many of us can actually "feel" & "see" the difference from improved RB26DETT in the GT-R Nur model compared to the regular GT-R? None, really.

However what we can see is the difference in the interior & the little details. Many of these limited edition GT-Rs (as well as other cars) have special interiors with certain designs/material not available in the base models. For example, we'll say GT5 has the V-Spec, N1, V-Spec II, M-Spec & Nur models.

Now, excluding anything that is just slightly improved upon (suspension, engine (no extra HP), etc.), we should be able to see these differences.

V-Spec: Added front lip & carbon fibre diffuser as obvious signs.
N1: No air conditioning unit, no radio, or rear wiper. This GT-R has no ABS, but the game allows it anyways.
V-Spec II: Larger brake rotors, carbon fibre hood, changed center console, aluminum pedals. These are all rather "small" things, but a car perfect for the detail junkie.
M-Spec: Leather interior. Again, detail junkie.
Nur Model: Different colored stitching & speedometer reading 300kph. Combine this with the fact that there is a Nur based on the M-Spec & V-Spec II, and you should have a mix of options right there.*

*However, this once more, is still a detail junkie's car, regardless of what Nur model is being seen. But, this model's performance is actually quite strengthened & should be slightly recognizable if modeled right.

Now, I'm not saying we do need all these different models (esp. like the Midnight Purple), but with the inclusion of the interior & more detailed exterior modeling, it should now be just a "tad" easier to see the difference in these cars from first glances.

Of course, some models will be much easier to tell the difference from, but cars like these are perfect for the detail guys who love to see this stuff modeled in a game.

I will be disappointed if there's a lack of Skylines in GT5. That includes the ones that were in previous games but missing from GT4. I Just love that car.

I think a maximum of 5 varieties from each generation would be fine. The number of skylines made the used car lists in GT4 pretty long.

With regards to that, I hope before you purchase a car you can look in the interior! :D

Still we don't need that much skylines. They're pretty much the same thing.

Does it hurt you to have them though?
Never thought about people who might have one of these versions and want it in the game?

I for one say give me every car ever made, this also includes variations.

Its not so much about having a problem with those cars being in the game, its more that the time spent working on those endless versions of the same (dull) car, could better be used working on different cars.

Fair enough that might mean that your particular skyline wont be in the game, but the same is true with practically every other car. I spend a fair bit of time driving a CLK Mercedes (3lt), but just because thats the version I drive its not going to worry me that in the game I'm only going to see the Black or AMG versions...

Would be quite a spectacle, but too many variations are a bit superfluous. The 1999 NSX Type S Zero is the same as the 1997 NSX Type S Zero.

If the cars are exactly the same with just another year or something it would be kinda stupid i agree (just like the MNP Skyline, it shouldve been a color for the basic version).

Adding something like this:
V-Spec: Added front lip & carbon fibre diffuser as obvious signs.

Doesnt take that long...

Congratulations on deleting the part of my post that comes to that same conclusion. 👎
