Well, I vaccumed my fan area on my PS2, and I think it runs quieter now...

It's not impossible. If the PS2 fan has variable running speed (I don't think it does) it's probably running slower if the port is unclogged.

All fans get a little noisier if their airflow is restricted (as I recall).
