I just realized that in this practice I lead my first lap ever in PURE and got my first podium, and was in 2nd and 3rd the whole race. I think the Vette has a shot, it can compete with the Citroen and the R8 I would say.
Congrats man, had a pretty successful Sunday overall 👍
The Corvette is definitely a contender, should have a small edge at Le Mans with the straights.
Of course it can my friend, the spec on the cars here is quite spot on, every car has its own advantage and disadvantage, but overall it is very similar 👍
Here here, Dr_Watson did a stellar job. As you could see by the qualifying results I posted up, LMP's are quite well balanced as well. Have to admit I was a bit worried going into La Sarthe, but those worries quickly dissipated as the race went on and completed, very happy, the race is looking
very good at this point.
Out of curiosity, are we still awarding the winners of Spa a guaranteed spot in D1 at Le Mans? I haven't heard this being mentioned in a while and I don't know if the idea has been dropped or not.
Yes, thanks for bringing that up. Winners at Spa in both classes in D1 are guaranteed provisional spots in D1 at least at the back of their respective grids. It's up to you and Ron/Dragon to qualify for better, but even if you both qualify out of D1, you'd start at the back of D1.
I'll follow this up with a PM between you two and Tim F.
I had a great time in today's race, thanks for putting it on Wardez.👍 I was gutted when I saw I would miss the 3 hour Le Mans race so to be able to do this was really awesome. I only put in about 20 minutes of practice before joining the lobby so I'm really happy with the way it went. I think I qualified 3'47.9xx but I could tell I was leaving loads of time on track braking earlier than I really needed plus the tune wasn't perfect for the track.
Once we got into the race my goal was to run a clean race and avoid any accidents, especially once the inevitable rain started. I think I did a good job for the most part, no spins, and only had one issue on lap 12 when another LMP spun on Mulsanne straight and he made contact while trying to re-enter. I think he spun it again trying to get going and went straight into my left front while driving at about 180mph giving me a blown tire judging by the sounds. No biggie as I didn't lose position and it only force me to pit one lap earlier. After that it was just trying to hold onto 4th position and a successful day.
I love me some mixed class enduros.
Really glad you got to participate man, it's a tough race, but extremely rewarding in any take.

Some pictures of the GTE class race!
I'm pretty happy for my second place!
Awesome shots man, especially the first one on the grandstands. It's one of the first times in a long time that someone's tricked me into thinking a GT5 shot was real. Cheers on the race result as well, you earned it. Great to see the Audis and Citroens mixing it up in GTE. It's virtually Pug Vs. Audi again.
Well my race is ruin in the start lol, damage in the first corner, engine broken, well one lap with the car damage i lost 1 min with that
my races not going good in here
Sorry you've had some unfortunate results pipi, but if you keep at it I'm sure you'll have your moment of sunshine and when you do it'll feel awesome. Remember that even little drops of water eventually can break boulders.
Really enjoyed the practice session had a great battle with the two vipers at the beginning of race, after that I was pretty much on my own. Just a shame we didn't get any rain, maybe worth increasing from 25% to 50% or even 75%.
Yeah, I wanted to simulate 25% because that's what we're going for for the real race. The thing about 25% is that while it doesn't necessarily always rain, when it does it's always pretty light. For instance, it'll take about 20 minutes for the water coverage to go up to 30%, which is nice and steady, not the incredible monsoons that seem to always shoot the coverage up to 100% in ten minutes while using anything above 25%. And with 3 hours of racing, who knows what sort of weather patterns we'll be getting? Could be dry the whole time, then rain at the end. Or rain on and off, I've had all of these scenarios take place in my simulations so it's pretty much guaranteed to be quite the show.
Rain at night btw... heh, well we'll just have to cross that bridge when and if we get there.
I think Eddie wanted the races to be a realistic representation of a real endurance race and it's very well possible it won't rain in the real race.
Yes sir.
That was me, sorry about that. Spun at the exit and got severe damage, was all over the place and lost more than a minute getting back to pits from there.
That exit felt like any other, except the car just lost all rear traction in an instant. I hope the suspension crew can figure something out before next weekend
Team Audi Sport Joest encourages its more experienced drivers to take the new car out for more track time as its a whole new feeling compared to anything they've raced before
My crew have everything under control. Just lack of rain to understand car in the wet but hopefully during the week it will rain so we can get the car out for some practice.
Get those hoses out boys.
I had a good race at Sarthe, the pace we have at Le Mans this week shows good battle will take place next week. The crew has been working hard to prepare my car, and the result speak for itself.
However I'm not truly happy with how the car behave on the long run, it still needs some improvement for it to be more durable and consistent, i hope the crew will have the answer for that during the week, we'll look on different option back at the factory.
It is a tough competition for sure, the likes of the Citroen, Corvette, Viper, BMW, and Nissan will definitely makes things harder to win this weekend but i am happy to say that the crew has not put a foot wrong during yesterday's race, so no delay in the pitstop whatsoever. Every tires changing and refueling done with extreme precision, so i am very happy about that as well.
I am pretty confident with how things work out last race, so let's bring the momentum for the next big race.
S.Loeb
A great debut for the practice race Mr. Loeb, the competition is indeed fierce but your team is definitely up to the task of making your car shine in race trim. Results have shown that. On the endurance side of things, it comes down to the driver more so for this year of Le Mans as all the teams have become extremely experienced in this new era of WEC competition. Time to put the business side of things fully in the hands of your support staff for them to focus on it and to allow you to keep your mind completely on the race.
