Sorry guys, I couldn't go on. I lost all my concentration after the restart and I was only competitive for a few laps a stint. Tires+weight and I was just a giant ice skate. On top of all that, I am going to have to exchange this PS3 for another one. It has always loaded slower than my buddies, but tonight with a full grid it was sometimes like watching a slide show. I was happy to qualify towards the front. Maybe next week.

O M F G

Crew chief fired. Engine mechanic fired.

Hunting down Kolden73 (I think) around lap 23 or so and everything went to 🤬! :banghead:

Sorry for not checking the forums. Got home just in time to get set up and in the room. Just found twisted in a room and joined. Looked like a fairly clean start in D2 except for me thinking everybody hit the gas long before they did.

I have no idea what the 🤬 is going on with my connection the last 2 weeks. But it's starting to get on my last nerve.

Horrible race for me spin crash on first lap .

Lucky that 3 guys ran out of fuel and I got them last lap .

Never give up.

Very sorry guys. Parents asked me to drop them off around 8.40, planned to be back before 9 but took longer than expected

Alright, no offense to Tony and certainly no disrespect to him, but I feel like whenever he signs up for one of these series, the fun is almost instantly taken out of it. Props to the guy for being so good, but it's always a race for 2nd place and that's just not fun.

Anyway, thought I did ok, very minimal mistakes. Around lap 14 I gave up even trying to keep Tony in sight and just made sure I held on to 2nd place. First stop I had used less fuel than in practice, so instead of my planned 20 liters I took 15. I think sometime between the two stops the 2nd-3rd place cars had an issue as I looked back and they were gone. Gambled and took 10 liters on my 2nd stop to try and make up some time (which worked) but at the end I was short shifting and babying it just to get it home. Ran out coming into 130R on the last lap. Good thing I had a huge gap over 3rd and just coasted to the line.

On to the next.

One word for my race.

Garbage.

Car was too slow to pass anyone, even on the front straight, while everyone powered by me with ease. Everyone pitted early which meant I was behind slower people for endless laps, wasting my fresher tires. I think I made Wii go into the dirty at the hairpin, so I had to wait even more for him to recover. Degner and 130R almost made me crash, and to top it off, I ran out of gas right at Casio, losing 6th in the process.

I just don't have any luck at all. Might as well paint my car green, and have Planters as my sponsor. 👎

Had a legitmate chase on Jason but I ruined it following Ren off the track.
Fought like hell to come back and did,(8th or 9th) but somehow used more fuel in the race than solo, lost half what I gained back.

Before you tapped Wii alowing me to sneak by; did you notice that I couldn't get a run on you down the front straight either? Wasn't even giving you much of a push when under your bumper. I'll say it again, these are all underpowered race cars. It's hard to pass on straights that aren't epic long (GVS, Spa, Fuji); that's part of the fun. :P

That tap pretty much ruined my race. I got damage from hitting the outside wall, forcing me to pit and ruining my strategy. I gave up/lost focus after that. Without that incident I could have done much better. My pit strategy was working well (I undercut a lot more people than I thought I would), and I could have made positions up at the end do to a lot of you guys running out of fuel :P

That was because I was drafting someone too. Even then, you were pulling up to my bumper.

From now on, gonna make the last stint the longest. With this car, I can't afford being behind someone, because I lose the speed advantage through the corners.

Many good battles in d2 unlucky for me 3 pits.

I accidentally bounced the ok button while it was on 0 L in the second pit :ouch::indiff: I made the 3 pit so i not ran out of gas lol:), but it was fun to race.
Thought i should win my fight with PAG, but he seems to drive lot better in race than training. Good race there Pag.
Looks like i am good in training and bad in race, lol.💡 :). Something to think about for the next race.
Feel i learn something new in every race here, really like that. 👍:)

Looking forward to next time. Maby more lucky then. :):dopey::)

With so many people having a bad race, someone got then to have a good race and I had.

Raced many people around the track, closing up to them, waiting for the right time, passing, and moving on. This was the first time this car felt good on worn tires. Its always been rather nervous before on worn, but for this race I had quite a different set-up and it was a rock straight through the stint. Still cornering well, perhaps just a tad docil on fresh but not too bad. It was all in all a very good race car.

Owens and I had a good battle for the first 19 laps.I pushed him hard for the first few laps so we could build a gap and he actually let me lead for about 20 sec 👍 but I was more comfortable running in the dirty air because it became the normal feeling so I didnt fight him when he passed at turn 1.

A routine pitstop on lap 10 and nothing too dramatic happened until lap 13 or 14 when Owens went off at 130r and I then outbraked myself at that damn hairpin and we both lost about 4 sec trying to get things back in order. That screw-up mattered at the time because JTV went for a 1 stopper and when we made our 2nd stop JTV and Owens were fighting for the lead.I made a mistake by staying out for an extra lap that cost me 2 sec and it put me behind that battle.I caught and passed JTV a couple of laps later and pushed like hell to catch up but I needed 2 more laps.

Congrats to Owens for the win and hopefully Laguna will favor the RX-7 and to tony for winning D1.:cheers:

Few questions.

Can you feel/sense the grip more with a wheel?

Is turn in ability more existent with a wheel? Not easier, literally more turn in, while still maintaining a stable setup?

What the hell is tony doing that we are not? We are on a physics engine with only 5 different inputs. What does he know that we don't?

What is the speed I should be entering the pits at? I lose SO MUCH time in the pits. I feel like I'm getting held longer than everyone.

"Alien" is an excuse. You/I just haven't figured it out yet.

Had a great race today. Always a pleasure running with iforce.

Towards the end I starred stressing fuel. Coasting conserving. Then with two to go. I had an 1/8th left. It hit me. That's 12liters. Six per lap. Go man go. If you don't iforce will have you. LoL

Sucks man.

Well I threw it away first . Caught the last corner kerb on lap 24 and lost a lot of time.

Happy with my 6th spot starting from 10th. Could've been much better but the start was messy at the back and lost the draft of the people I was aiming to beat.

Running with fast guys over and over here, perhaps? (GT5:P made Suzuka a home ground for many - significantly fewer tracks back then, and there are fewer aliens extant now than those days, I gather). Was not around for that, took GT4 off, and got into GT5 a bit late.

The DS3 has a built in "aid"; turn-in is limited at high speed. It makes up for it in a few ways (very fast lock-to-lock at lower speeds, often more reliable in tricky conditions). I believe Litchi uses no-ABS deliberately to get more rotation (or the feel of it, anyway). I think it's probably harder to optimize slip angle, but I don't even know how you do it so well at your level; I've been on the wheel for just over a year now, and I think my current pace (not that fast) is well past where I would have gotten just on controller. Whether you can sense it more is arguable - FFB is pretty subtle with understeer (not so much oversteer), and rumble-DS3 feedback is actually pretty decent for braking and acceleration, IMHO.

Some tracks have pit entry speed limits; you get held longer if they're broken (or hit walls, cut grass, etc). Can't recall what it is here off hand, but you really don't want to dice with it at Laguna or Tsukuba, to name two. Bad Things Happen.

Anyway, I made a horrid balls-up of what was initially a pretty good race.

I got to draft roscko for quite a while (after an off), and when the leaders were coming out from their first pit stop, I managed to draft Tony and Jason a bit for a couple of laps. I'd saved fuel and tires.... on lap 13, Dom and Eddie were coming up behind, and I had potentially at least another back straight + main straight of drafting fast guys on fresh tires before I went in after 14.

All I had to do for a decent (for me) result was:

a) Stay on the track
and
b) Put in the right amount of fuel in my single stop. There wasn't too much difference in time between one and two stops, I think, but since I had been draft-saving a lot, I would have been nicely positioned.

Guess what I didn't do? Either one.... got flirty with the outside rumble exiting Spoon and caught grass trying to not hold up Dom and Eddie, but he followed/ tried to avoid, and Dom and I went to the pits (1 early for me). And I accidentally bounced the OK button while it was on 0 litres.... :banghead: NOT OK! NOT OK!

So, converted to an odd 2-stop, gambled on barely-enough fuel, and missed it by about 2 litres, dropping another place to Skeng. Had one other dumb off while I was at it.

EDIT:

Good job, Owens and iforce. But I fear Laguna is not our track.

Well, first off, I'm really sorry for that. I had a run exiting Degner and I thought I could get on one of your sides at the hairpin. The problem was that I caught you at a bad place, where I didn't know if you were going inside or out. Thought you reacted as though you were taking a defensive line, so I aimed for the outside. The hit was unexpected, since it didn't appear to me I was that close to you. I did notice when I was behind Eddie that there was some lag, enough that I couldn't stick to his bumper, because his car kept popping up closer without warning. However, I had to do just that, so people wouldn't pull away far enough on the straight. I loathe having to drive like that, but didn't know what else I could do. :(

So in a nutshell, driving the better handling but slower car isnt quite as easy as expected Rich? ;)

I said this in the lobby, but the Arta reminds me of the Lotus Evora in Adam's GT4 series a long time ago. It had top-tier handling, but the behind car often followed it all around the track, and even with a big gap, went by it on the straight. My car's not as bad, but it's at the point where I made riskier passing/blocking attempts than usual, and that only leads to trouble. :ouch:

And think, it lost less speed than any other car in the field through spec changes. (vs season 1)
