PURE | GATE 2 - GT300 - Season winners - tony1311 and Team Wedssport

Got booted from psn :(

I watched the replay and no offence but it didn't look like you got booted! You rammed into the back of my car damaging both both rear wheels adding 2 seconds a lap onto my already slow pace. Your engine and wheels were damaged and you went of track and quit.

Maybe they have heard about you and your annoying questions:tdown:

Sorry but this is funny.

The cat asked some really silly questions. Ones that led me to believe he was destined to ruin others races.

No offense to the guy, but I think he needs to practice up on his comprehension and driving skill before allowed to race again.

This isn't the place for immature so so drivers. This is heavy damage and a pro level sim racing league. He made a snide comment about having a life relevant to his inability to read the OP.

Most of us in this group are grown men with jobs. Some with kids. We make time to be on the ball and up to speed with the rules and regs. I for one work, raise two boys on my own, raise two puppies, tend to a 14yr old dog, and maintain a relationship while making time in the late evenings for my racing. It's possible. Just gotta want it.

Hopefully this chain of events helps enlighten the guy and we see a changed and dedicated racer come on board. Otherwise. He should show respect and walk away.

These are just my opinions.

While here. Tony, you are always welcome in any race I'm in. Of course you most likely will win. Of course you love when Aderrrm shows up so you can have some competition. Your strong skills should not be shunned or brought into a negative light. That is purely a sore loser not handling the reality of they are slower then you.

Maybe the Scooby can get 20 HP on top of the aero. LoL

Yep. It needed said.

Agree 👍

From the rear of the field perspective fast clean drivers are a blast to be around and associated with. The high standards provide a great target and motivation to improve. I just wish that I could understand why other than genetic mutation they can make these frustrating machines go so much faster that us mortals.

Division 2 results posted on the PURE racing site. Could someone from Division 1 please post a photo of the fastest laps etc, then the results can be added and the league table updated. many thanks.

For the record, I am thrilled to be racing in the same league as tony. He gives us all (well, nearly all) something to aspire to.

Room up for hour or so

1472 - 6681 - 3716 - 3559 - 8327

Room closed.

Laguna's where I have never felt fast, yet, I've had my best results here. I tried my Suzuka setup, one that did not fully utilized the tranny trick coupled with built-in understeer to save gas and the rears.

Like the race, garbage. I don't even know why I went with it. :yuck:

I switched back to my GVS tune, while pumping the gears all the way. I also made my car a 5-speed car to see if I can correct the wretched wiggles it does once the rubber wears off. Much, much better. Consistent low 29s, and it drives good enough for me for a whole race stint. Just need to get that number down to around 28.5 or so.

Is it just me or are these cars running remarkably similar times to the supercars of X on SM? :odd:
Wonder if they can crack a 7 on the Nurb too... (doubt it)

From the looks of it, my first few sectors are quite close, but then comes Sector 4, where I crush the X cars.

BTW, it got me thinking to what in real life could run my current personal best at Laguna Seca.

Now if we only had a 911 GT3 Cup car in GT5...

Event information - Saturday, March 2nd

≡Track Notes ≡

Track boundaries for all races in GATE 2 are universally defined as follows:
The white lines along the edge of the track are considered to be the track boundaries. These lines continue onto the rumble strips at each corner. At no point should there be no more than two wheels over those lines/rumble strips. two tires must remain in contact with the track at all times. The preceding defines the "track." hard surfaces beyond white lines and curbing/rumble strips such as concrete, "greencrete", or turf and other run off is not considered to be track. White lines, curbing/rumble strips are track and even if you only have two tires on their very edges (to be reviewed and confirmed by as steward) it will be considered clean.

≡Track Specific ≡

Pit Entry: Only thing to keep in mind is to not enter too fast. The game will penalise you or even hold you in the pits with no release. DO NOT use any barriers or walls as guide or to gain time/speed.

Pit Exit: Make sure to respect the white pit exit lines. You can cross them, but only if you're 100% sure that the track is clear.
As always, if an incident occurs as a result from a driver crossing the line (Either the one on track, or the one exiting the pits), it is the driver that crossed the line who is at fault

≡Running Wide ≡

There's a few spots to be extra careful at.
  1. Turn 1, the run off area to the right on the approach to turn 1 is not track. Be sure to keep 2 wheels on the solid white line.
  2. distance markers, try not to hit them although everyone should get some practice without them because by the end of the race most of them will of been moved/missing.
≡Fuel ≡

The in-game fuel calculator doesn't function correctly. You must do a test run of approx half distance and calculate your own fuel usage. If you follow the guidelines set by the game, you will run out of fuel.

≡Tire temperature bug ≡
There is some talk of a tire temperature bug at Laguna Seca. This is where your tires don't heat up properly. If you notice on your outlap that your tires aren't heating up as normal and you wish to restart your qualifying, you can quit the track and open a new room if you wish. As long as you don't pass the start line to start your first flyer, you can just restart your qualifying.
I personally believe it to be only cosmetic with no loss of grip but of course every driver is free to make up their own mind.

Yeah, I'd been noticing the lap time similarities as well. Took a quick swing at it out of curiosity by stretching the gears on my suzuka car and hit 7'04.296 (offline so I didn't have to do a lap to do a lap)... Little tuning and practice I'm certain I could get 6'59.

For those wondering, Laguna Seca is what I've found to be the most handling-favoring track in the game.
Time to see what those Arta's are really made of mid-corner. ;)

You set grip to real and tire wear on? (just something I forget a lot)
I would've thought the Nurb's high-speed tendencies would leave the monsters smoking them too badly down all the straights.

wear @ "normal" with "real" grass.

Gets eaten on the straights for sure, but there's too many corners for that to end up as a *big* advantage.

Tim, I don't suppose you caught my lap time before my modem re-synched and then the network freaked out on me here?

Car felt really good for once and I was actually hitting a groove for me. I saw a 1:31 something and was about to come in for some fresh tires and have a go at a 30 or better when the network blew its guts out. :banghead:

Well, this is the most fun you can have without laughing. Can't stay connected to the server for 5 minutes now.

I've always considered "real" grip to be too slippery on the grass. Maybe if it was wet...

Tons of DC's today, both on my end and with others. Don't know what's going on today.

Think I'm at a point in which finding more speed is going to be tough. I can see I'm slow in Sector 3, but I'm flying in Sector 4, consistent with just about every series I've participated in.

nope... and yeah, people were popping in and out of both rooms all evening. and then it dumped me from PSN.

Hi guys. I'm really sorry for my no show this saturday. Actually, i met a girl past week. I live in my new flat since August and the funniest is that she lives just near of mine, on the same floor since 4 years. I spent/d lot of time with her (and her little 4 years old daughter).

So no i wasn't playing Metal Gear Solid 2 / Rising all the week-end (for them who seen me on this game). That was my roommate. He's a fan aswell.

I'm a bit disappointed because I think I had some chances for a top 5 at Suzuka.
But this is life, I'm now 28 years and i think I should find a girlfriend. So...why not my neighbor...

EDIT: And not sure I can race this week-end too. But i'll do my Q anyway.
