What are the Mazda Rd time targets plz fellas? I'm running 1'31's without tuning, and I need to know how much practice I need to put into this. :sly:👍

Pole will probably be a low 28.
I predict the division 1 cut off to be around 1:29.5.

1'28's 🤬!!! I am slower with a wheel for the moment.

the only "low 28" will be tony... might see a couple 28.7-28.9 range to fill out the second row. But I expect most of D1 to Q @ 29.1-29.7

don't forget there is a practice board for tracking times during the week.

The low 28 I was thinking of was tony (of course).
I must have better pace here than I realised. I hope to q anywhere from 29.4-29.8, I was expecting to need a 29.5 for D1
Now I have said that, watch me run a 30.6.

Sounds about right. In fact, I drove the Lexus the other day and compared to my Arta, I matched it all the way until Sector 4. Even with added downforce, my car flies through there like a banshee, while I had trouble keeping the speed up without inducing understeer. I'm guessing the other cars have a similar issue, and that will make breaking a 29 a challenge, without setup changes.

Before I forget, for those qualifying, please be aware of the tire bug. If your tires stay deep blue in the opening laps, a new room is required. Laguna is one of the few tracks where that third flier could be the fastest.

Great info as always Rich. That should be in the OP somewhere. At least the race brief.

That sounds like what I was seeing in the Honda. In rainy and the banked sweeper following it's really hard to keep the car from pushing wide into the pit-lane sand-box on exit. I was pushing hard enough to put two on the dirt there and still +0.4 to your ghost in s4. The Tommy Kaira ZZ seems to really enjoy high-speed sweeps.
Hopefully it's something I can fix with more tuning, maybe an aggressive diff... though the car is so good at the rest of the track I'm loathe to change it.

So basically, whoever's hosting the race, make sure to not reset the room.

Tire temperature bug

There is some talk of a tire temperature bug at Laguna Seca. This is where your tires don't heat up properly. If you notice on your outlap that your tires aren't heating up as normal and you wish to restart your qualifying, you can quit the track and open a new room if you wish. As long as you don't pass the start line to start your first flyer, you can just restart your qualifying.
I personally believe it to be only cosmetic with no loss of grip but of course every driver is free to make up their own mind.

Just checked for the tire bug...

After I get consistent this week I'll test if the bug affects behavior.

We, Owens, Iforce and I, were goofing off the other day at Laguna in the '08 AMG when Iforce noticed the tire bug was in effect. After lounge reset my times were 2+ seconds faster than with the bugged track. Hadn't changed anything about the car between. I would say the bug is more than cosmetic.
From what I understand the bug hits if the room is started with one track and changed to Laguna without closing the room.

It's not fatal, but you really need to burn that rubber on the outlap. Otherwise, the tires will stay relatively cold, and the times will suffer.

Did a draft test with Dom earlier. Only took me a total of eight laps to pass, and that was because of a major slipup. :ouch:

As I keep using this wheel I'm finding those settings that I will probably most likely used. I found 2 settings that I can adjust on the fly, 1 for new tires and then ill click to setting 2 for shot tires in mid race. Fanatec very cool indeed. I still haven't move over to chassis tuning yet the wheel has too many settings to play with that do virtually the same thing.👍

I am going to run a 14 lap race tonight if anyone wants to join me.
Tire wear and fuel consumption test.
I hope to run it at approx 20:30 UTC (1 hour and 15 mins from now)

Haven't turned a single lap yet. No motivation during the week to fire up the game anymore. Will do so Friday night.

Getting PSN error messages galore. Not sure if it's just me or a bigger problem.

I tried to practice yesterday after work and was told by PSN that they were doing maintenance and would not allow me to log in.

so there may be something funky in PSN land.
