PURE | GATE 2 - GT300 - Season winners - tony1311 and Team Wedssport

Room open
1472-6118-3916-1736-7816

Room left to DR_Watson

Server finally disconnected me. Left the room to Owensracing and Dragonwhisky.

Finally got the car setup the way I want, got several 1:39.5-7 and one lucky .4 from a smoking hot sector 3.
After that I concentrated on getting used to raping the neuvelle chicane which was putting me up on my .470 ghost at the end of s2 but I never got it to stick in s3... Don't think I've got much more than 1:39.1xx in me.

tony will get pole with a 1:38.xxx; I figure if you can hit 1:39 that should be good enough for D1. I expect the cut to be 1:40.0

WOOOT. 1:39.346 during mock qualifier just minutes before my real run. I'm pleased with the 39.5 for sure. Hopefully it holds up. Car feels great. Driver is comfortable. Ready for some action come Saturday. Bring towels cause it will be sweaty. LoL

I will Q tonight if I can get home in time for some GT.

Apologies to the hosts about missing races, I've had a death in the family and what not so I've not even had time to practice or race. I've only just turned up for my GT500 series as its been kinda chaotic...

But I want my invite to the GT500 leagues here so I guess even though I hate GT300's I will have to race this week to show I'm "active" hehe!

See y'all tonight

All you need to do to get an invite to JGTS 3 is be a good communicator.

Ahh, I was told I had to be apart of other series's first.

Well I will try and race and be a reserve driver here as things are not really settled in the Stretchy house right now and it would be good to learn who some of the news drivers are.

Does RedReevos race anymore? Always enjoyed batting with him, quality racer

Np. Sorry to hear about your loss, always tough to mind anything else during those times.

The thing is, this isn't a drop in and drop out series, we scramble behind the scenes everytime anyone leaves or joins, so it's tough if we don't know the status of drivers we accept into the field if you get where I'm coming from.

It would be good to have you on reserves as before. Just gotta put in just a bit more effort in communicating and staying up on the series' status because we put in gobs of effort ourselves.

Rees went with me to Silverstone last year, after that he had his first baby and so he's focusing on that. Don't know if he'll return anytime soon sad to say.

Thanks mate means a lot

Yeah I understand being a co-org guy at GTF it is a lot of work and I do pretty much jack all and its still stressful. I will try and visit more, I don't think my boss is happy seing my PC screen on GTP though haha!

I have two questions for those with much more experience.
1. What is the correct/best point to shift to the next gear?
a. Before the red zone
b. Before the rev limiter
2. What impact does hitting the rev limiter have on lap times?

Hitting limiter probably costs .050 - .100 each time id say .

Every car is different and the best way to test to get the perfect shift point is to look at the curve in the settings menu that shows max power and torque .

If you have route x you can test there as well .

I use the 1/4 mile test that comes with Route X. Then put on soft racing tires and try different shift points to see which is quickest.

Good few laps in the car tonight. Had an issue with the back stepping out everytime I break so I have to blip the throttle every time what slows me down a lot as I lose the line in the apex. I will try and Q on Saturday if I'm not to drunk

Well I put up a 1:38.730 in practice so I decided to try and put in my qualifying. The thing with the Altezza is that it's quick, but super tricky to get through the hairpin because of horrible on throttle understeer. So you almost have to scanny flick it through there in order to get through fast. I had my success rate of that at around 75% in practice xD. The 25% got me. My second flyer was looking really good too :(.

Oh well, hopefully I make D1, I'll be happy then.

Just an FYI. I've decided to participate in this weekend's race after all.

For those running 38s-39s, kudos to you because I'm having trouble getting below 40s. Honestly, if I can somehow get into D1 and have a boring, uneventful race, I'll take it. I'm actually more worried about spinning the Arta than anything else. Only did one 10 lap run, and the rears were cooked compared to the fronts. Odd since I removed all rear camber, and shifted my brake bias forwards.

I'm no tuner, but the way I understand it, removing all camber means removing rear grip. Which means your rear slides more often. Which means more tire wear. Too much rear camber means you loose grip too, which increases tire wear. You've got to find a happy medium.

Outlaw. What I do in that situation is put -0.20 front toe on, more sometimes. From my understanding it calms the intial turn in but increases the mid corner grip at the cost of more front tyre wear. I don't know if it works for others but it works for me :P.

damn dude... stop making this look easy all of a sudden. ;)

tough luck on the Q time, you should be ok with that 39 though... I'm not expecting much more than 1:39.5-7 myself.

btw, what's the best sector 1 you've seen? I saw a .543 once and nearly pitched it into the wall.

It took me a while to get down to .6 for some reason, which was weird, 'cause S1's usually my best. Before that I was hitting a string of ~39 flat. I really nailed S3 on the time I put up on the practice board.

Havent done a lap yet , ill be one late tonight uk time to get some practice and qualy done .

Right I'm in work till 8.30 tonight and going pub after so not sure what time ill be back. Tomorrow I'm in work from 12-8.30 so unless a miracle happens and I get home on time I don't think ill be able to make it here. Ill try to quali either later later tonight or in the morning tomorrow but I can't guarantee it yet!
