Nope :) I did obviously but it's not mandatory.

I tried to go for a Sebastian Bourdais kinda scheme. The blue and white with McAfee. Actually come to think of it, would you mind changing my number to #7? If im going to be Bourdais then I may as well get the number right :P

Sure mate 👍

Already got 13 drivers and we haven't even opened the main thread so I don't anticipate any of the mid season participation issues we've had in the past.

Yup

By the way, that open 16th, team-less spot will be used by anybody who hops in at last minute for a single race. Drop or Mule might want to take on some oval races, Wardez said he'd make a few rounds and there'll always be extra people who want to run the 500.

Obviously you can still fix up a reserve driver for team points but you have to inform me of it or they'll be down as that '16th driver'.

Why don't we leave that space for a dedicated pace car?

I wouldn't know where to start, haven't found a dedicated pace car since Brett left.

Any ideas anyone? I'm off out to the beach for a few hours so if you could PM any possible candidates that you can think of while i'm out that would be cool.

I suppose I could post something up in the PURE forum later today aswell.

A pace car you say? For what?

For the pace laps and cautions. We had one foir S1 and the start of S2 but for then our pace car driver, Brett, got a new job so we did without for about 9-10 races.

It's always nice to have one though.

They used cautions much like FMSC used to. This last season it was mainly done by having the lead car acting as pace setter, but now they're thinking of using an actual one just for fun.

On thwe subject of cautions, since we get lots of moaning about your race being over once you're a lap down, how about a lucky dog rule?

I'll clarify the new caution procedure when i've written it up, many of you guys know it already anyway. The GWC finishes we trialled are also probably going to be implemented.

Gotcha 👍

Only team without numbers or sponsors now is Penske.

^Staying on the lucky dog topic again, how about it?

Lucky Dog sounds like a great idea!

You going to re-run the DW Challenge? I think that was a great and very touching idea! :)

Yeah of course dude, we'll also always have those 5 silent laps at the DW World Championship 👍

Keep it as it is. The wavearounds.

Well yeah, the wavearounds would still be there but that doesn't help people a lap down. It's pretty demoralizing being a lap down because there's basically no chance for you to get back in the race unless a caution comes out when you're leading the pack and that's a grey area because you're not supposed to 'race' the leaders.

Lucky dog is an idea that would promote better racing between the cars that have lost a lap as they have something to work towards. If everybody is against it that's fine but i'm just spitballing here 👍

This isn't NASCAR. 👎

I still don't really like the pitting-under-caution rules. On Ovals, you can't catch ground like a road course.

gokartman78
i would like the lucky dog rule. can bring your evening back from being disastrous

Well, that means I can just drive really slow, even get lapped saving fuel, I don't care, because I'll just catch back with a caution.

Well IndyCar don't have GWC finishes in real life, doesn't mean it's a bad idea. It would probably enhance the series actually. That's how I see lucky dog.

As for the pitting under caution at ovals, it worked brilliantly at Motegi. IRL, if you wrecked badly, it's be your evening over anyway so a 10 second defecit is a pretty good deal in my opinion. It serves the purpose of making strategy matter. The drivers who ran carefully and kept out of the wall were rewarded with a 1 stop race and we had a complete round of green flag pitstops due to the fact people were being careful, knowing that a wreck would cost them time in the pits.

I agree.

Also I would like the cautions just to go back the way they were. If a innocent car gets collected his race is over. Simple as that.

I'll make a poll.

EDIT: Up, please vote on each category.

Yes, but it wasn't even my fault. Kartman should've got damage too, but it was lag.

"Race ends when caution comes out with 3 or less laps to go." This is how it's done in real life, I vote for it, but fear 90% of our races end under caution. :scared:

Irrelevant really, I can't base all my decisions on freak accidents.

The poll's up anyway, I don't really care either way although I would prefer the new additions. It's your decision as a group of drivers so vote up.

EDIT: And exactly Cowboys, that's why I prefer the GWC idea!

But I think if the lapped car is clearly quicker he has every right to unlap himself, think Lewis Hamilton did this a few races back in F1 ;).

I suppose so but if the cars are fighting and are at similar pace, it's trickier to judge which results in controversy.

We're not all Lewis Hamilton in a freshly pitted McLaren ;)
