Sweet, the Stealth NSX, my No.2 car! Great to be in the garage alongside you Owens and look forward to sharing tuning/driving tips with you as we try to tame our Honda! :). I was hoping I could run #36 on the car to be honest, but I'll go with what's requested. Any preference on #3 or #4 Owens?

@NEPALII - Were the car specs listed as 'final' before you made your car selection? YES. Did you pick the Lexus as one of your top cars? YES, I'm pretty sure you did. How can you complain soooo much if this is the case when there were a number of cars at 'stock' weight? Time to just get on with it.

Well, 1,2 and 3,4 was my suggestions..
If you want to run 36, I'm fine with that (Same goes for MULE who can run in number 93).
I was just trying to separate the team STEALTH cars from the potential Customer STEALTH cars since we'll allow them as customer cars. Mostly because we wanted a GT-R as such.

But it would be nice if you kept your numbers close.. Like 36 and 37 or similar.. And for the GT-R team, 93 and 94..
Or throw the numbers around.. 36 and 63.. 93 and 39..

Customer STEALTH's will roll with number 99, that's final.

Whatever NOSS.. Flying below radar are we??

I'm no where near as fast as you.. And I did a 57,3 in the MOTUL GT-R with the exact same specs as in PURE.. I'm pretty sure that was a really good time, but you aliens def reach in to the 56's, no doubt.

I know that Aderrrm reached well down in the 56's with the GT-R at stock weight.. Those extra 30 kg might slow him down ,5.. So a high 56 is def possible (For an alien) in my book.

But you have to do it on those 2 laps.. that's the tricky bit.. ;)

I joined a lobby today with NOSS and CSL and there was a 1:56.8xx as the fastest lap.

I remember the WSGTC season i raced at suzuka, tony and sigma were the only ones who hit 57's at the qualify. Everyone else was doing 58's and 59's.

Now you guys are reaching 56's and 57's with worse cars.
I'm so ******! :(

Since the NSX is already at the lowest minimum weight possible, if you do this (drop ballast on the rest of the cars), some of the cars like the Lexus and GT-R's will have massive (it's already bad enough) handling/lap time advantages (and considerably better tire wear) over the NSX, particularly on slower speed tracks. Also, being that the Lexus and GT-R already have sizeable advantages on slow speed tracks where draft is of little benefit to the NSX, you must not forget that on high speed tracks (like Monza & La Sarthe) it is quite possible for a top level driver in a GT-R or Lexus to keep pace with a top level driver in a NSX using the slipstream. As the long straights can allow the slower car to keep in touch, particularly deeper into the stints when the NSX's tires tend to fall off sooner. On the other hand, this is COMPLETELY impossible for the NSX driver to achieve on a track like Suzuka, Nurb F, etc. So I think you need to step back and have a better perspective on this 💡

Decreasing the power will do NOTHING to improve the NSX's lap times on slower tracks, particularly in the hands of a skilled driver. If anything, it will just slow it down further. And lets not forget that the Lexus already had a ~ 1 second advantage over the NSX at Laguna (which is relatively short lap @ ~ 1:20). Had you been in the NSX, you would have complained even more than you are now

I haven't driven the Lexus first hand (from what I've heard it's on rails and has great tire wear), but it will likely have a moderate advantage or be on par with ANY of the other cars on just about all but the fastet tracks (Monza and La Sarthe).

I do agree that we don't want to slow the cars down too much or make them all feel lame and handicapped, but the truth is...that's really the only option there is to level the playing field, because if we run the cars at similar weight/hp/aero values there will be HUGE disparities in the performance of the cars...much bigger than what we already have.

The only possible way that I can think of to get the NSX to have similar characterstics as the other other FR cars would be allowing it to run R2's (something that isn't easily policed), while reducing it's hp and taking the ballast off the other cars. Otherwise it's not going to happen, as the NSX is already at it's lowest weight possible :indiff:

Just reduce the weight on the GTR and the Lexus. At least do that, so the Lexus doesnt feel like a boat. It has less HP and more weight than WSGTC, no wonder it feels heavy on me.

Yes, I remember that clear as day.. It was the first WSGTC race ever.

At the time, I thought 57's was out of reach.. But in the end of that season (We ran Suzuka twice) I did a 57,5 with the MOTUL GT-R (Same specs as PURE) and was so happy.. And when I later on tryed the other GT-R plus I had improved my driving, I ran a 56,6 in a lobby with Remy_K with the GT-R at 610 pp.. 👍

You ran the PETRONAS TOM'S and came in 2nd in the WSGTC race IIRC.. That was a strong race.. Only tony1311 was ahead of you..

But I guess all of us have improved over the last year more or less.. It's a shame you did'nt play GT5 for a long time.. Cause if you had, I bet you'd run 56's all day with the skill you posess..

You should realize one thing Nepalii. Although you may think the SCs are slower, just look back during testing at Laguna, CSL beat both of our record lap times getting himself in the 20s in a "slower " car.

You should be able to go even faster man. Don't worry about it. These cars weren't balanced in theory or on paper, it was done on the track 👍

I haven't technically cracked 59 yet.
But I barely turned any full clean laps and have only 20 miles on my car, I'm aiming for 57's.

And one of the testers picks read out like this:
1. Denso SC430
2. Petronas SC430

That's gotta mean something, right? I certainly didn't pick what I thought was the worst car.
TBH I think that in itself closes the case, if I may be so bold.

Actually 3. Big Dale Sr. Fan. ;) my fave race car numbers 1,3,11,27

EDIT: seen Dennilson's post. #27 is what's on it now. So if that's ok. I'd prefer to go with it.

Its the feel of the car that worries me more than the lap times. Take Laguna for example, I won there on the pre season race, but I wasnt happy. I used the WSGTC setup and the car was unbalanced. This setup gave me a 2nd place on qualy just a tenth short of your pole and gave the win on the race. I had oversteer/understeer throughout the race. I just hate its driving more than the lap times. The only thing that was improved was that the wheelspin was reduced due to the extra weight and less 2 HP than the WSGTC specs. Its not exactly about the lap times. Its about balance of the car, in terms of tire wear, for example.

Im going to test the car at Suzuka and try to squeeze the most out of it.

@ Dr_Watson: Done 👍

Here it is once again..

TBH as long as they say what each numbers are, I don't see the big issue with taking whatever numbers they want. That or digging through and seeing what number each SuperGT car is and not allowing any "doubles". (Yellowhat GTR is #3)

Hard pressed to find two guys that want numbers in tandem like that, I just don't see a need to put restrictions down, just sayin'.

Yes, perhaps..
But since no one else can pick a number, I thought that we could atleast connect the STEALTH models with similar numbers.. Mostly to separate the TEAM cars from the Customer Cars..

But perhaps I'm taking it too far..

I was thinking they pretty much pair themselves by being stealths.

As long as the teams can't take 99, and the customer cars take 99, it should be fine. (maybe disallow any 90+ numbers for clarity)
I only bring it up because it seems to be a "why not" thing.👍

Yea, you're right..

STEALTH drivers, you can pick any number! 👍

Figures that my regular racing number ends up being the customer car number  No big deal though, I'm not picky.

No, you can pick any number..

When I know your prefered numbers, customer cars will be assigned a different one..

Full time drivers come first hand. 👍

Where do I go for the qualifying session guys?

I don't think you're signed up for PURE.

Cause we went thru all car choices earlier today and I can't recall your name. Did you recieve an invitation?

I thought so I signed up last week, and received a response back then, but that was the last response since then. Is it too late?, I'm still trying to get in.

Ok, so you did not recieve an invitation.. And you signed up last week?

Who did you PM with, and what was the answer you recieved?

Got down to a 58.2.
The plus side is I have 4-5 58.2's, and I can see mid 57's whenever I get my act together.

Bob's breaking my Denso the other 120 miles right now. :)

Ballast/PP - Moving ballast f/r changes PP, I assume we're not allowed to add power if we move it forward, but can we reduce power to be able to move it rearward?

Thanks Denilson and Litchi!! I'll try some personal setups, while waiting for my team mate's settings. Then see how they compare. I should try improving my own tuning skills, too! :)

So what's the thinking of reversing the grid order rather than the result? Another thing is if we had the race on 'reverse grid based on previous results' the order for the second heat for the formation lap would be sorted already.

I agree, not sure why you guys picked reversing results for qualifying, but I think the best 1 would to reverse the final race result for people that have a bad race

Can't change power at all. Denilson will check each car's PP with prescribed ballast weight added and the PP change from moving the ballast around the car. You will need to let us know before qualifying and the race (yes you can move it to a different place from qualifying to the race, having essentially two slightly different PP figures) on where your preferred ballast position is so we can confirm the PP for posting on the stats page for host checks.

and btw, yes ballast will be used to during qualifying.

Yeah, I'm thinking that might be changed. It's Denilson's rule, although he might want to change it as well, we'll see what he has to say.

Woohoo! Denilson, it worked tremendously well! Such a tiny change (from -0.08 to -0.20) and I improved my time by 1.3 seconds!! Of course, it's not just the change; probably knowing the car was faster gave me more confidence, and I had a wonderful last sector which I'm not sure I can ever do again. But what matters is that the car feels a lot better now.

I'll have to keep improving! 👍
