Wow, totally didn't see his time pop up on GTP. I guess that's what I get for not checking the PURE site. :)

was in one of the updates earlier today... probably at least a page back. ;)

So it looks like, Adam's time not being counted, you'll be in with us in D1 Tim. Can you make a provisional grid sheet pretty please?

was going to get it in the morning when we're "official" and I bump Adam's time off the top.

also:
Both pole sitters will want the left side of the road I assume?
Using the normal S/F timing line?
Any special rules we need to get out of the way?

p.s.
(remember to watch out for the pit bug, go in slow it's not worth it to be a hero)

Nothing to point out besides the time change. The regular line will be used for the start. And pole sitters will start on the left side, odds on left.

I guess I could try my hand at hosting one of these things if no one objects.

It's only an issue if the car taps the wall when making the turn. If so, the car resets back.

I'll emphasize again. If you haven't done so already, get some laps in with the braking markers knocked down. Also, play it smart by backing off if you think you'll go wide. A half a second loss in lap time is much better than twenty seconds plus a pit stop for damage. In order to finish well, you gotta finish. :)

(...and have a good internet connection) :lol:

Important for Europeans

Time changes back to UTC/GMT +0 for you. So Europeans will gain an extra hour when they set their clocks back to Midnight once their clocks hit 1:00 am tonight/Sunday morning. Which means! the race is going to be on an hour earlier than usual for you. In Britain, the time for the greenflag of the race was 7:00pm(18:00 +1 UTC/GMT) during European Summertime, it will now be at 6:00pm(18:00 UTC/GMT)
Only Europeans are affected as most of the rest of the world changes time on November 4th, be aware!

Refer to this link in order to be absolutely sure you know what time you need to show up and race. At least 30 minutes prior to the time listed, which is the green flag time!

@Steve
Do your rooms hold up well with Europeans and do you exactly understand the tech inspection procedures as described in the hosting guide in the op?

I've had 16 person rooms with roughly equal ratio of Euros to 'murricans, with mics on, and been lag free. Did a quick speed test, 39.72 down, 1.97 up, 32 ping.

I've never actually done a full spec check before, but the way you have it in the OP makes it almost foolproof.

Goal tomorrow: stay on track, finish at least one spot better than I started. Which seems to be 15th...again. (and even with a correct spec car, imagine that)

@Justin
Sorry to hear that, thanks for letting us know.

@Steve
Sounds great, then we'll do fine with you hosting D2.

Really not looking forward to this :( qualified 1.2 seconds off pb and this is probably the worst track for overtaking :lol:

Yeah Josh, we're going to have a hell of a time trying to fight our way up while the raptors in front run away.

You can expect a few crashes and extra pit stops for damage repair so that could change things up entirely

Well yeah, always does. But the group really knows how to stay out of trouble well. But racing's racing, we'll just have to see.

I honestly can't remember the last time I was in a race with heavy damage and not gotten damaged.

Heum, to that who put me on the sheet, I'm not in this series. :lol:

Never mind. I was looking at Fuji. :dunce:

Anyways, good luck to everyone tomorrow. I predict three things:

1. Tony winning
2. 1 stopper being the right strategy
3. At least two people having their races go bad at the kink

Agree on 1 and 3, but less sure about 2.

At Fuji, a one stopper was the quickest. I haven't tried Laguna (hopefully I get time to do it). But I wouldn't be surprised if a two stopper is faster if, and its important if, there are no other cars around. Given that Laguna is such a difficult track to pass at, question is if a two stopper can make good use of fresher rubber, or if he will be stuck behind a slower driver on worn tires.

Yeh i cant decide either , 1 stop seems like common sense but with traffic being the issue here a 2 stop could be the right choice .

Added a countdown timer for greenflag into the OP for those that have trouble adjusting their savings of daylight!

2 stopper seem like a good choice initially.. But on this track, getting caught in traffic is the last thing you want. And a 2 stopper will most likely put you in that situation. Like what happened for the 2-stopper guys at Fuji.
A 1 stopper will be the fastest way to go..
There's always if's and but's around how to pick a strategy.
There's a possibility that a "tweaked" 2 stopper might work out well for guys in the back of the field.

One thing that I really really like with the longer tire life in combination with our race distance is the fact that you can decide when to pit more on how the field is spread out than when your tires are dead which was the case pre 2,08.

Just a heads up. Hurricane Sandy is headed towards Jersey tonight. They usually are nothing by the time they reach the jersey shore, but just incase my power goes out before or during the race I wanted to let yous know. Cya at Laguna! (hopefully)
