Q: Cars earned in GT5P transferable to new GT5??

hey guys, im a complete noob to this forum and you guys may have already answered this in previous threads,

but do you think the cars and licenses earned in GT5P will be automatically applied in the NEW coming GT5??

It would be a great addidtion. For those that just want to get all the car/tracks, then use them at leisure, it would make it alot quicker.

For those that like to get an old beater, slowly add parts, tune it etc, then move on to a slightly faster cars................. they simply have to not transfer anything over.

It was announced back then by Kazunori himself that players will be able to bring forward the save file of GT5 Prologue (all cars and credits) into GT5. Then again he also hinted at a big Fall 08 update and said GT5 Prologue is a work in progress, eventually updating till GT5 Proper status (with fewer cars and circuits ofcourse) but all of them never happened. So I will probably not bet on it happening.

Personally this is the one thing that I desperately want PD to come out and let us know, I dont care about release dates, not that worried on content (tbh I know it will be good...)

But I've got to the stage where im pretty bored on prolog, and tempted to start wasting the money I've saved on there.
However if I knew that the money and/or cars would be able to be transferred to my GT5 game (whenever that comes out) then that would probably get me playing the game again so that I can start GT5 with plenty of cash (and avoid having to go through the dull stage at the start of the game).

That said I dont see the licences being carried over, given that you'd expect GT5 to go back towards the traditional licence test style rather than a repeat of the process that you went through on prologue

If it's in the game, I won't make use of it anymore. I did it with GT concept, then I had a ton of credits that I could spend in GT4.

I want to start from scratch, for me that's more exciting.

I hope not. One of my biggest complaints about GT4 was that the career mode had a too easy start. If you did the license tests first you started the career mode with a garage already filled with cars.

(I still remember perfectly that in GT3 you had 18.000 Cr. to start with and that was that)

But, if what happened with GT4 and GT4rologue is to be repeated, what you get is not exactly the cars from the "Prologue" game, just a huge amount of credits.

Indeed, though I made a deal with myself not to use cars I won (especially early in the game) for races. I drove the cars I won in my own test drives but didn't race them. I hope we start with even less money this time around.

Im not exactly sure what grind means, is it when you repeat a race, to get more money?

i certainly would like our grind in gt5p to mean something for people that bought "the glorified demo", i had read before that was part of the advertised plus of buying prologue that some stuff would carry over, then if you did not want your cars, cash or whatever you could either not use them or delete your prologue save and you can have it hardcore as you like.

bottom line it would not dissuade me from getting gt5 i do not think anything would, but i sure do like my ferraris and formula 1 car etc, would be nice to have them avalable to hop on the ring when gt5 comes out, i do not see licenses carrying over anyway. you would still need to work your way through the ranks with the required cars for the classes.

not that it should be hard to satisfy both camps with an easy work around to avoid it or maybe even the option when you install gt5 to decline the prologue save import.

grinding is a mmo or rpg term meaning you do something repetitive for xp or loot, can also be a derogatory term to refer to games with steep xp curves or bad loot drops.

There was no grinding necessary in GT4 at all. It is easy to get to 25% without ever repeating an event. Once you have unlocked the Endurance Hall you can earn massive amounts of credits which means you don't need to repeat any event at all unless you want to. I hope there won't be any need of grinding in GT5 but if there is then there is.

I want GT5 to be hard. GT4 was so damn easy its not funny. You get a halfway decent car put in a engine or turbo upgrade you and win with ease....please make it hard PD.

Back on topic i think they should have everything carry over but i most likely wont just to get the full experience of the game. As a matter of fact i like using the production cars alot better than the race cars. Once i get to the longer races with race cars on GT4 i lose interest.

Even if we can I will be starting GT5 from scratch, like Meinbeast just said, I want to experience the full game from my first GT5 car to the powerfull top of the line racing cars and everything in between.

As an option for thoes less inclined to do that I think it could very well be offered. It wouldn't be the first time PD have had data in some form carried over from one game to the next.

I'm pretty sure that those GT Concepts are just examples of how you can tune your car in the full game. So yeah, I doubt that we'll see them in GT5.

if its like GT4 you ahve a choice to bring credits and liscences from GT3. i would experience the full game without bringing over anything, then once i was at a point where i had many cars and credits i would bring the extra stuff in so not to loose out on the bonus. this way i would have the best of both worlds.

I hope they dont transfer, and if they allow it, I wont do it. I want to start out with a little cash, buy my used prelude or what have you, and race my ass off in the sunday cup beating and grinding my way to the top. I want it to be difficult as all get out. I'm tired of the easy way out.

They might allow people to transfer a certain amount of credits, like in GT4. But cars? I doubt it (and I hope not!). I'm kinda doubtful of licenses as well, because there really aren't any license tests in Prologue as such.

In any case, I'm going to start my GT5 from scratch. More fun that way.

That's a bit much, don't you think?

The one thing I wouldn't mind seeing is if you have GT5, GT5 gives you an extra $10K or so, like GT3->GT4.

hmm maybe a bit less, but it could be seen as having the original Gran Turismo gameplay from the start, but you can receive things you worked hard for like the F2007.

Seconded, that is why GT appeals to me. You get to take the sports cars of yesteryear for a ride. However if some guys want to take their well earned track tools from Prologue to the game, I don't see why they should stop them. GT5 may already check for a GT5 save, so saving your file in a separate folder may circumvent that. (Look at me, making baseless assumptions again.)

yup maybe transfer then and not able to used until you completed certain number of races......
