i played GT1 last night for the first time in a while and i really liked the qualify. im a bit pissed that this wasnt included in GT2. you got extra money for qualifying and you go the chance to get first place instead of being placed last.

Darn straight! The lack of qualifying is the one thing that seriously bugs me about GT2. If I have a fast car and know it, I shouldn't have to play bumper cars with the rest of the field just to get some clear track to run on. Escpecially when cars like the GT40 usually start up front and can blast away while I'm stuck in traffic!

Yes the qualifys in GT1 were nice, but an extra lap for a few grand, and you only got it for coming first.

Wwell, I don't really care. But I would rather they had it in than not, because when your low on cash every little bit counts.

It's not just about extra cash, it's about getting clear of all the slower cars without having to waste time on the track plowing through them. That's especially important since you don't know who you're up against or whether you're going to out-accelerate them.

You must know how frustrating it is to get a good launch and have it ruined because the guy in front of you was stuck spinning his wheels instead of moving forward, and you ended up shoving half your car up his tailpipe. That's what qualifying was meant for, the pole position bonus was just to sweeten the deal.

what happens is the AI always cross over into one straight line. If you know what side that they are going to cross over to, just go straight up the other side of the launch...simple as that

It's too bad that you can't qualify in GT2 and you have to start each race at the end of the starting grid. But it's fun driving the GT 500 races - you don't know if you'll win.
