Ok, so my natural territory is still life and horticulture photography. I'm interested in doing so photography in the streets in city centres etc.

What are the laws on this type of photography and how do you approach people or shops/stalls when shooting?

I would love to hear your thoughts and tips.

Here's a good resource on the legalities (basically as long as you're on public ground you're allowed to take photos):

In terms of interacting with people, I mostly just shoot first and ask questions later. I usually don't go for posed scenes. As long as you carry yourself in a non-threatening way you'll mostly be fine. Smile and say thanks if they notice, and offer to send them a link when you're done - people tend to be more suspicious about what you intend to use them for rather than you actually taking a photo.

Thanks guys,

I'm looking forward to getting out there. I mainly want to shoot architecture but I guess I may try some other subjects too.
