I actually think that E-type is kinda neat...

..but it definitely should have been built off of a car that isn't such a classic. 👎

Clear tail lights/lexus lights are my worst nightmare, they look cheaply made and how some of them pass any regulation tests i dont know - when your driving behind someone with them (especially during the day), most of them are hard to make out which lights are on and the parts which are red it sometimes looks like the film is peeling or something as you can see parts of the white bulb through them and some of them look like pink - not red!

I have known some people to buy them as they are virtually half the price of standard clusters from a manufacturer, so people who have had a bump and smashed a cluster would probably be tempted by the price than how they look. (obviously these people should have checked car brokers 1st as the standards go for pennies there!

uglye-type!uglye-type!uglye-type!uglye-type!uglye-type!

It makes the E-type with the 240Z nose from "The Love Bug" look downright holy by comparison.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that, as an E-Type, it was too far gone to restore. So, he did what he wanted with it.
If it was a perfectly good E-Type, give him the same treatment as Bangle.

restorable or not, I still think it's UGLY.

Heck, I'm giong to go out on a limb and say it would look a hell of a lot better crushed into a little cube. NO car, whatever it's condition, deserved to have THAT done to it.
And the sad part is, people probably tell the owner it's awesome, while trying as hard as they can to overcome their gag reflex.

So, you're saying that guy didn't have enough time or money to restore the car, but he had the time and money to turn it into that?

No, I'm saying that the car may have been too far gone to restore (AKA Something notorious among British cars... Rust). So he took what was left and slapped on a wee bit of bondo. I'm relatively sure that there aren't NOS (New Old Stock, not Nitrous Oxide Systems) or reproduction parts made for E-Types.

Dosen't matter how rusty something is, it's always restorable if you have the time and money.

For example...

Yes, it's the same car.

But it still doesn't explain why he apparently threw the bondo at the car from 10 feet away, waited for it to dry and slapped on some paint. You ARE supposed to actually work with and shape the bondo too, but I'm guessing no one told the asylum escapee with the ownership papers.

Am I the only one who notice just HOW much that thing looks like a fish ?...

A catfish to be exact.

Even if it was un-restorable, he shouldn't have done that! He could have still done something to try to make it look at least a little non vomity.

Looks a bit like a George Barris creation to me.

Had it been something actually rare i would have agreed, but they made E-types by the shed-load.

A ****ed up E-type is still better than an E-type rusting away to nothing in someones back yard. Just.
