That poor 599:(

Ehh, he's right. The last pretty Ferrari was the F355. After that one, they realised their F1 wind tunnel cost them a pretty penny, so they decided to use it on their road cars to make up some of the cost, and ultimately, the ugly (but very functional) soon followed. Every single car that has come out of Maranello since the 360 hasn't been pretty. The function has taken over the form. The prettiest cars come from Newport-Pagnell and Coventry, anyway.

I like most of the new Ferrari cars, and I'm always surprised when I see someone doesn't like how they look. I guess it's another thing where not everyone has the same taste in cars.

I quite like how the 458 looks....F12 isn't that bad either...
Well... The F12Berlinetta (as it is pointlessly known) is just too busy to look good. The "aero-bridge" was added to make the car seem less "bland" but the thing is, it doesn't need an aerodynamically sculpted bonnet to excite... The 250 GT California doesn't have it and that is drop dead perfect

Sorry my complete ignorance but what is made in Newport-Pagnell, I'm not reaching it.

Anyway, the new Ferraris take funcionality over looks and that spoils the thing. And they are becoming mainstream, they aren't the exotic they were.

I'm not overly excited for the 458 or the F12, like I am for a 550 or even a 355. To these I react "Wow! a Ferrari!" the current are like "Look, a Ferrari" and the thing not them looking bad or good, it's the lack of that "soul", the "wow" factor they had in the days. That's what it bothers me and, most likely, most of you.

Not my 1st choice of engine swap, but that's not bad either. Can raise some questions for those purist japanese tuners, but then you have a muscle V8 engine noise, which is nice

Not mine either, but I'm seeing quite the variety on YouTube. Everything from 350 Chevy's to Ford 302's to Turbo LS2's. I'll be honest, I want to take one and put a 352 FE V8 in it :dopey:

I'm a fan of strange swaps too though lmao.

This is one with a Chevy based 383 stroker. Says it's pushing 550 horsepower.

I didn't understand any of that but it sound cool! :dopey:

Well I want to take a classic Mini Clubman and stick an Alfa V6 in the back reinforced to take a couple of turbos and make it produce 500 big ones. Now that's stupid, strange and pointless and that means I like it... A LOT!

@Team THRT Drift

I was looking in the engine bay of my Escape the other night and I was thinking there might be just enough room to stuff a 302 in there. Would be illegal as hell to drive though lol.

I also like to make an engine appear to be stock to the eye. I'll go as far as painting aluminum intakes and machining the ends of aluminum heads to match stock and paint them as well. My dad sort of gave me that idea, with just modding the internals.

Another thing is to build a beater sleeper like the farm truck, but keep the exhaust extremely quiet and have cutouts for open headers (essentially) installed to scare off racers lol.

I was brainstorming the other night, and I came up with some of these interesting swaps.

Mazda Miata - 351 Cleveland
Datson 280Z - Ford Flathead V8 (I'm told this is actually a very easy swap)
Ford Maverick 4 Door - Turbo 300 Inline 6
Toyota Celica Liftback - 352 FE (destroked 390/428 CJ)
Ford Escape - 302
S197 Mustang V6 - 351M

Of those, only 2 would be illegal to drive in NY

I didn't understand any of that but it sound cool! :dopey:

Different V8's hehe.
